My mother's house in Palos Verdes had major rodent problems in her garage. They had built nests and were quite happy, but she was not. I called ASPCW and Ben came out and explained what needed to be done. He was professional, proficient, friendly, and trustworthy. There were many places the rats could escape to under the house that needed to be sealed up in order to ensure that the rats didn't make a new nest in another part of her house. The garage door also had to have work done to keep new rodents from coming back in. He came out several times to trap more rodents and took the bodies away. This review is long overview! I can't recommend Ben, Enrique, and the entire team enough. I wish I would have come to them as my first pest control stop. We had a recurring rat problem and it started getting out of hand, chewing in the night, droppings in the garage. We had the entryways plugged many times, but they were still somehow getting in. I was desperate for a fix. Ben is a neighbor and he offered us a consult once I told him about our problem. He came by and did a thorough review of everything. He was so much more detailed and explained what was happening better than the previous companies we used. We rent and Ben offered to speak with our landlord directly - explain to her this is not due to a dirty tenant situation, but a problem with the structure of the roof and house. I really appreciated this offer and his candor around what could and could not be done without larger structural fixes. I really liked that Ben did not rush the consult and he gave us immediate, actionable things we could do to try and reduce the problem as much as we could. Ultimately we needed to do a round or two of traps and bait stations to get the problem solved. That said, the chewing noises and droppings were quickly a thing of the past (and still are!). As soon as I suspected we had a bug issue, I called American Structural Pest Control West (ASPCW). I have used ASPCW in the past and have been 100% satisfied with their professionalism and results. I trust this company and know when they are on the job the problem will get solved. I spoke with Amber on the phone and she talked with me about what I was experiencing, and what my options were based on what I saw at home. My child was experiencing bug bites and we weren't sure of the type of pest it could be. Amber listened to my description and helped me figure out a few ways to identify the pest, as well as approach the issue to minimize the cost of treatment. We had a fly infestation in our kitchen and laundry room, and I called 3 different pest control companies to see if they can help remediate or help me understand why this is happening. My wife started to see rat droppings in the house. Needless to say with our baby granddaughter staying with us, it was quickly elevated to a national emergency. I had a total of 5 separate estimates for my rat problem with a range from $800 to over $6000. Some of the higher estimates seemed like they only wanted to sell me removal and replacement of my attic insulation, or they wouldn't give me a warranty. They tried to upsell me. One of them was only going to quote based on the square footage of my house and showed little interest as to the details associated with rat proofing my particular home. He wanted to quote and get out. Then came Victor Alvarez from American Structural. Believe it our not he actually seemed to enjoy his job. It is a family operation and he is the owner. He was the only one who climbed up on my roof to check out the problem. He took pictures of everywhere I had an entrance point for rats. His quote was on the low end but that wasn't why I chose him. He never seemed to BS me and it never seemed like a sales pitch. Victor patched every entry point in my house and showed me the before and after pictures. There was a particularly difficult area to take care of at the entry to the crawlspace of my house that concerned him. He said he would only do it if he could be sure it would be fool proof (rat proof). He came back with a professional looking, custom made hinged grate that looked even better than the mess that I had before! This was followed by 3-weeks of setting and checking traps on the inside and crawlspace. (Didn't catch any as they were locked out of my house by his repairs.) That is a good thing. Bottom line is... - absolutely no sign of rats...not one rat poop, and it was bad before he came - his repairs look complete and professional...he is meticulous - the price was very reasonable - he loves doing it...go figure? - very personable - I will without hesitation use him again, if I ever need him or recommend him to my friends and neighbors I now have a good stucco guy, plumber, electrician, drywall guy, and A RAT GUY! I was made aware that I had a potential rat problem underneath our wood floor, I called ASP and Victor came and gave me a consultation. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We decided to set some traps under he house and in or attic to be sure the entire house was not infested. I also decided on his recommendation to seal any small openings that critters could squeeze three to enter my home. He set traps and came every week for a month to check for rats. I dont typically write reviews, although I probably should since I read them when I look to make my choices. BUT Victor and his wife Gina, run an amazing business that is centered around hard work, honesty, and doing things the right way. We had the unfortunate issue of a little critter who made an appearance in our house leaving little droppings everywhere. Because we have a 1 year old, I wanted to try to get it taken care of ASAP. I found a couple companies that had great reviews, but after reading about Victor, I decided to give him a try. He came out immediately, assessed the whole house and confirmed that the droppings were coming from a rat (still shuddering thinking about this). He educated us on how we can be preventative moving forward and did an inspection to see entry points. He set traps that day and we decided to move forward with him sealing up the entry points as the price seemed more than fair. He came back a couple days later to seal up the entry points and even saw an issue with our dryer lint trap and had me turn on the dryer to confirm that there was an issue with one of the vents under the house (more to come on this). He finished his work and did an amazing job customizing some of the vents as well. Fast forward to the next day, and we caught the rat in the middle of the night in the trap and Victor came that day (on a Saturday that he was off) to take care of it and reset the trap. Once we caught it, we have not seen any droppings over the last 10+ days and Victor just came today to pick up the remaining traps. One thing that he did see is that we needed the door that leads to our water heater replaced and sent over his handyman that he trusts to fix it. His handyman was amazing and is someone that I will look to use for other projects if they pop up. Lastly the thing that sticks out the most is how much Victor actually cares. I noticed that he had missed a vent that was covered up by our lemon tree (easily something that is missed) and he came by the next day and fixed the vents FOR FREE. I had Developed an ant problem in my Kitchen, and did some research. I chose American Structural Pest Control due to the good reviews on here and the fact they were a small, Family run company rather than a huge corporation. Scheduling: This Was super easy, I was able to get an appointment with them to come only 2 days later. Which was awesome because this was right at the beginning of the Full Covid Lockdown in Late April. Appointment Time: They showed up right on time, and were super efficient. Sprayed the inside and outside of my whole house. 2 people came (Husband and wife I believe), so it took them no time to spray. They were wearing face masks and gloves, and I felt comfortable with them in my house. Results: They explained it could take up to a month for the Ants to go away completely, and said they would come back and re-spray for free if they weren't gone. It took maybe about 5 weeks for the last signs of the ants to be gone, but one spray was enough. It's now about 4 months later and the ants have not returned. Cost: I don't know exactly how they compared price-wise as I did not shop around. However, the price I paid felt very reasonable for the service they provided. I will definitely be calling them again if the need arises. read more

Victor (owner) and the entire company (a family owned operation, including Gina and Amanda) were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in helping me quickly eliminate my rat problem. Victor is very experienced and was able to explain to me the options for best eliminating the rats. He never tried to up sell me.
