Great place to buy beer. Very extensive collection. Prices reasonable. Value add is in the knowledge of the owner and the collection of inventory they have. If you are looking to explore beer this is the place to go. Are you going to get supermarket prices? Probably not, but that's true with any specialty shop. Good selection of craft beer, but most of it just sits on shelves and collects dust. I came in recently seeking Ithaca Pulp Addiction. The guy working was nice enough to let me know that it was over a year old. I would've bought Barrier Money until the guy told me it was $19.75 for the 4-pack, saying distribution costs went up (Barrier is only 30 minutes away from this store). My buddy recommend that I check this place out instead of going to the place by the high school (which has a great selection and is a bit closer to my house). I have to say, it's a hidden gem with a great selection if you're into craft beers and want to get some good recommendations and mix up what you're drinking. I didn't spend more than 10 minutes there but got several recommendations based on what I usually drink from the owner, who was an awesome guy. He even gave me a cooler bag and two pint glasses for coming in for the first time, which was a nice surprise. Relative to the beer distributor by the high school, which is way overpriced and generally unhelpful and unfriendly, this place is great - awesome selection, great service, and fair (or more than fair) prices. So I've lived in this area for years and never thought to stop at this place until a friend of mine told me I had to about a year ago. Place looks tiny from the outside but once you walk in....wow. Place opens up and has a massive selection of craft beers along with at least half a dozen taps for growler fill-ups. Large walk-in fridge for the times when you need a cold one right away too. Center of the store currently has a bunch of wooden palates filled with 12 packs and bigger but he has been slowly (and continuing) moving these and replacing them with even more shelving for craft beer. He already has a ton of shelving filled with any type of beer you could want....yet he is still expanding the shelving to hold even more. Trust me, if you haven't been, just stop by one day just to see for yourself The guy John is the man, knows his beers quite well and looks out for your best interest. I like trying any and every type of beer so every time I walk in, I tell him the style I want to drink, and he racks off a couple of suggestions he feels I would like with details of each beer too. He even tells me when a particular beer is not worth the price and provides similar alternatives to get more bang for my buck. He also gets his hands on some very rare beers (like only a case for the store) so if you treat him well, he will do the same. I've gotten my hands on some amazing beers from him such as Bourbon Bounty Barleywine, Bourbon County Coffee Stout, and KBS to name a few. Also, he was able to make a call and get me a case of a retired beer I was looking for...and in the end, he was able to get 2 cases (one was a 2011 and other 2012) and mixed it up so I had a few 4 packs of each. Simply awesome! Overall, this place is a really good find. I highly recommend just stopping in to see it. I mean, whats the worst that can happen....you find nothing new and exciting and end up buying your "go-to" 6 pack (because I know he'll have it). read more

I almost drove by this place I at a few minutes after 9 PM. I was on my way to my friends house and needed to pick up beer and was intending to stop at Stop & Shop. As I passed the store I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and parked. I'm glad I did because the selection inside is massive. The owner did me a favor and stayed open a few minutes while I try to wrap my head around the all inspiring selection. He was very friendly and even gave me a beer on the house from his friend's brewery in Upstate New York. I will have to come back another time before he closes at 9. My only knock, is I wish he had a parking lot instead of on the street parking, but I understand the area is what it is. read more

This is a hidden gem for craft beer lovers on the south shore. The store is almost like a warehouse, which is a lot like a cellar, so the beers are stored well. The selection is among the best I've seen on Long Island (think Hicksville Beer & Soda and Syosset Beverage). The guys who work there all know what's fresh, so if you're looking for a 2 week old IPA, they'll probably be able to point you in the right direction. The owner, John, is an awesome guy. He loves his products, and he always wants people to try his favorite beers, which turns into a few freebies thrown into your purchase once in a while. All of the stuff he's had me try has been top notch. He's very, very nice, and he's even given me a free can of Heady Topper (the impossible-to-get beer from Vermont), which was unbelievable (both the beer and the fact that he was so nice as to give me one of those beers, which are so hard to get). Did I mention good pricing? The only other stores nearby who compete with this kind of pricing have inventories that sit on the shelves forever. That's fine for some styles like stouts and more malty beers, but others that are more hop forward should be enjoyed fresh, and I've ALWAYS gotten fresh IPAs and other kinds of beers from this place. If you like craft beer, I'd highly, highly recommend you give this spot a try. read more

Great selection, but beware! Most of the craft beer is expired. Me and a buddy bought over $100 worth of different craft six packs and split them between us. When we got home we noticed that most of them were either well past expiration, or some 2+ years from bottled date. read more
