Fish tank inside as you walk in

This is a good place to go eat Chinese buffet style food. I have not been here in years. Still taste good from what I remember. They use to have the restaurant off Broad Ave.,but but moved to Gulfport off courthouse. You may drive by and see it not busy. It is very busy or not if time it right. Especially during lunch and dinner times. If not, I noticed they are busy doing take-out/to go orders. That is you wish eat your food at home. This is good small Chinese buffet. Great! If you don't want to go far for Chinese/American food. They do offer many popular dishes. The staff is very friendly and willing to get to know you. I love the personal service from them. Makes you feel welcome every time you stop in to dine. The curry shrimp is not bad, but very tasty but strong curry flavor. The honey chicken is very popular. The mushrooms are good too; if you are a mushroom fan. Lemon chicken is but of a surprise in a good way. Any of these choices are good choice in my opinion. But honestly, you can not go wrong with anything you get there. They mainly off booths in the outside seating but have tables in the inner dining room. Seating has decent padding. It is no lounge chair but you feel comfortable. You are welcome to a casual spot but friendly atmosphere. Please of fish tanks with gold fish and plenty of red Chinese treasures hanging up. Be sure you enter the right side door. No front door. No WiFi I can tell. No military discount I can tell but the price to eat is very reasonable. No mask required.

    Assortment of buffet items.

Mrs. Sue's little buffet might be on the smaller side, but it packs a punch. When I want a Chinese buffet, I want the essentials, not pizza, mac & cheese and chicken nuggets. I'm also about quality over quantity. South China Restaurant has all of the favorites of the West. The general and honey (or lemon, depending) chicken sauces are incredible on the pallet and I highly recommend both. Everything is fresh as long as you are there during high traffic time, which is most of the time considering there are folks in and out grabbing to go orders while I'm dining in. The fried rice is great with a little mushrooms topped over them (plus a little of their sauce). Tasty egg rolls and wontons, plus those great sugar topped Chinese doughnuts. I now drive from Gautier to Mrs. Sue's restaurant, and pass many, many other Chinese restaurants along the way... it's that good to me. There is also a menu that you can order off of that is not on the buffet. I've been so satisfied with the quality and consistency of this buffet, I have yet to try any other dishes the restaurant offers. Note: My photos are literally every photo I have in my phone since I've dined here since 2014. I just love this place!

Always consistent. Been eating at Ms. Susie's restaurant since the 90's when she was on Broad Ave. You won't be disappointed.

I've been eating here since 1996 and it is my favorite Chinese buffet. I love the General Tsos Chicken, Lo Mein, MooGooGi Pan all so good.

It's just that the whole place seems neglected. For starters, the outside is dark and there was high unkept grass and some trash in the parking lot. The whole entrance needs some kind of makeover because it is not inviting. I found myself carefully looking around while going back to my car because of the dark woods behind the building. Inside isn't much better. It was stuffy and the menus were sticky and falling apart. They also have those kind of cheap booths where you can feel every movement of the person behind you. People tend to flop into them and can literally knock the food off your fork if you're mid-bite. My wife and I shared some crab rangoons, which were quite large and had a nice crunch plus a decent amount of filling. They just came late when they should have been an appetizer. I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi which was great and I brought about 1/3 of it home. You get plenty of meat and veggies with it for twenty bucks. My wife had just the chicken hibachi which was five dollars less. We both got eggdrop soup and it is always good. We also ordered a sushi roll and they have a couple dozen specialties that are very good. They make fat rolls covered with toppings and really know what they are doing. Ours had shrimp, crawfish, and spicy tuna for about fifteen dollars, which is pretty normal pricing. I like the food here but they really could make more of an effort. Our server was overwhelmed and we still tipped well despite some mistakes. It baffles me that they have no social media presence besides some pages that haven't been updated since the Obama administration.
