If you're looking for a more diverse taste in Richfield look no further. South china has a great deal for Chinese food. We did the dinner option for 1 which includes a soup, appetizer, side, and entree for less than $20. Service was friendly, atmosphere was good, and the food was tasty- the portions are huge!

We stopped by the South China Restaurant for lunch after getting glass work done and doing some shopping in Richfield Utah. We chose it because it was on our route so we just got lucky. There is a small parking lot in front and a larger one on the side where we parked. The place is large, clean and bright. We were greeted and showed to a table. The menu is large and they have a great lunch menu. My husband decided on the shrimp with lobster sauce and I chose the chicken chow mein with the hard noodles on the side. Lunch specials come with soup (me-Hot & Sour, Hubs-egg drop), an egg roll and fried rice. The soup had crunchy wonton strips on the top. I've never seen this before but it was delicious. The crunch added something to the soup. The entrees came with the egg roll which was small and had a veggie filling that mushed. It was not my fav. The fried rice was ok but I would get steamed rice the next time for the chow mein. The chow mein was really tasty. I would order it again. The shrimp with lobster sauce wasn't very saucy. It wasn't the best my husband ever had and he wouldn't order it again. We really enjoyed the food at South China Restaurant. I wished we had one that good in our town. I definitely recommend the soup and chow mein and, I bet, other selections would be delicious, too.

What kind of Chinese food could we possibly expect in the middle of nowhere Utah? Well, I can't speak to it's authenticity, but food that's hot, fresh, decently flavorful, and abundant should be appreciated by all. The "Mongolian Shrimp" is the standout from what we ordered. There's a crazy amount of veggies with plump juicy shrimp. The "Veggie Chow Mein" with crispy noodles wasn't what I expect. It was more like a soup. Not bad, just a tad bland. We got an appetizer sampler, and I gotta say, those "Spring Rolls" are great. The fried shrimp, cream cheese wontons we could do without, but I'd feel sorry for you if you skipped out on these. I was very pleased with the quantity of food we got for what we paid. One entree is easily enough for two dinners. Also, it only took about 15 minutes until our order was ready for pick up - very impressive that in such a time when take out orders are probably increased, they're pumping out meals without compromising quality.

Beef & Broccoli combo plate. Served with egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken and spring roll. Big meal

Great place for Family's. Always clean and nice. Have Chinese, American and Pasta. Also sandwiches, Salads and more. Something for everyone. Usually have the Chinese, but it's not authentic mainland. It's very Americanized. That said it's always fresh, hot and plenty of it. Prices are very fair. Service always pretty good to sometimes great. Locals love this place for its consistency. Have had many meals here over the years and never had a bad meal. See some complaints here and there about this place. Everyone has there happy spot. Come in with attitude it's a local place with local l Likes. It's called cAtering to the home crowd. It keeps them in business and if your here on a Friday/Saturday night you will see business is good. One of the beat places in a small central utah town.

Food was so salty and had little flavor. Good portions for the price, but definitely wouldn't order from them again.

Restaurant is dirty, food is bland and dated. Wrist used to be the go to place for date night. Now it's just sad...

Awesome fried rice! I can see why the place was packed! I will surely visit again when I pass through on my way to Colorado from California.

We are a little hoity-toity though: For my tri-tip 10 oz., it came out nicely spiced, medium rare as specified, but cut with the grain, not across it (which would have made it much more tender). No char / Maillard reaction on the outside. My spouse ordered blackened salmon, which again was spiced fine, but was not blackened at all. She also had a glass of "Merlot" wine, which was red, and had traces of alcohol in it. We arrived on July 24th, Utah's Founder's Day. The place was packed but we were seated right away by the hostess who had a sense of humor - nice!

Since they are a franchise they are not identical, and each one seems to play off the local identity and try to have decor that aligns with the area as well as the bear themed stuff. They have a small gift area, not overwhelming but a few branded items and typical touristy stuff. It's cute and seems to be well made stuff. Food - Oh yea, there's food! They have a really extensive menu and breakfast is served all day. My only regret is I love tri-tip and they have it on the menu but each time I was at a Black Bear they had run out. Admittedly we had arrived very late and I'll assume it's both good and popular since all three had run out. It's worth noting that for breakfast, they have real link sausage as well as other options and the sausage is nothing that grocery store skinless junk most places serve today. I was glad to see they had good quality thick bacon as well as several sausage choices for breakfast.

I told her it was a first date and I was aiming to make it count. She didn't hide behind policy; she leaned in and helped me anyway. She went the extra mile and noted a table near the fireplace. That kind of touch means something. It's rare to find someone who helps set the stage for your evening before you even walk through the door. Laynee, you made a cowboy believe in smooth first dates again. If the steaks and service inside match the care you showed on that call, Steve's is doing things right... and I just might have a shot at that second date. Thank you.

The steak was not good. It was way too salty. We tried both the steak ends and the strip (I think…read morethey called it the Cowboy steak) and both too salty. The adult plate for the steak ends turned out to be as small as the kid's serving. We ordered "seasoned vegetables" as a side and it turns out that's just heated green beans probably from a can. The fruit side for the kids was also just canned mandarin wedges. The kicker is the entitlement to a 20% tip and the false claim that it was somehow a new mandated minimum, almost alluding or implying that it was a law or regulation. I tipped the 20% because I felt pressured to do so, which I regret. I usually tip 20% if service is good since I had friends and family in the restaurant service industry. But not being given an option and the entitlement mindset is off putting. Building is nice though...
