If your looking for an Olympic size competition pool in the Keys this is probably the only one of…read moreits kind. Not only is it most likely the only 50 meter pool it's newer and fabulous. The complex is located off the water. The entrance is at MM 87 and is marked Founders Park. Stop at the gate to pay an entrance fee. Go through the park to parking right outside the door. The lot is spacious with overflow. The area was clean. The Ron Levy Aquatic Center is a public pool available daily for residents at $3 and non residents $11. The name sake was the Vice Mayor of Islamorada in 2001. Enter through the building. There is a small locker room available. The long course 50 meter eight lane outdoor pool built in 2001 is a beauty. The pool can easily adjust to short course accommodating eight lanes, The pool is kept heated to 82°. There are two 1M and two 3M diving boards. I have been here several times with my son who is a competitive swimmer. He has trained with Gary Hall's Race Club which continues to operate out of the Ron Levy Aquatic Center. A cool factor is that several of the USA Men's 2008 Olympic team trained here under the direction of Michigan coach Mike Bottom. I told her I didn't want to make the trip before knowing if it was possible to enter the pool, then she said, let me check for you one moment, came back on the phone and said yes we're open. It's three dollars for entry. We drove 20 minutes to get to the aquatic center only to see that it was a ghost town. Not even open. So this person wasted this time of my day on Saturday. I wish I got the woman's name but I don't think that she should be answering phone calls anymore.

This is a great pool to come out and spend time with the family or bring your little ones out to learn how to swim. This pool has a zero depth entry making it easy to get in and out and safe for little ones to play with ease. There are also 4 lap lanes if you wanted to come, workout and get some laps in. Open Spring Break - End of September this is a wonderful place to check out. We also host an annual Dunkin 4 Pumpkins event (Depicted in the pictures attached) where families can come out and dip into the pool to grab a pumpkin and enjoy our local vendors.

A few downsides to these courts- - They don't have any lights so they aren't ideal for evening play - I've heard they're strict with locking up at a certain time - There are also no partitions between some of the courts so get ready to yell "ball!" during your games - No bathrooms that we know of. Some of our friends had to drive over to Target to use the restroom. There are 8 pickleball courts, 2 tennis courts, and a few racquetball areas. These courts are rarely crowded, which is what we love. Even playing with strangers, everyone so far has been super courteous and play levels run from beginner to intermediate from what I've seen. Overall a good court if you're in the Kendall area.

Only thing I'll call out was that I made a reservation, there was no actual hosting stand, and when I told the girl working here I had one she kinda looked me like I was cray. The restaurant was empty so it didn't matter, but if you're gonna have it on OpenTable then honor/make use of it. Would suck to come, have it be full, and not have the reservation you placed honored. Safety should come first before blasting the music !!! In Tai chi classes with an amazing teacher we have to compete with outside noise! The room should be sound proof!!!! I walked in a blonde older lady laughed and said "do you know how much is the membership" they automatically assumed I can't afford it . So I said nothing and left. Today I went back cause that is the closet gym to me and I decided it's just time to move on from that . They gave me a whole tour and when I was about to pay for the membership I asked if I can film . After wasting nearly an hour of my time they tell me no cameras or tripods aren't allowed. Anyway im more confused on the pride They carry to be honest like not a single person in there was in good shape , even the trainers are average bodied.
