    Flight!

We had the opportunity to try Southgate brewing while in the area visiting Yosemite, and we were so glad we found this place. The atmosphere is what you would come to expect from a typical brew public experience, wide open seating was very friendly wait staff. The food was very enjoyable, my wife had a flight of beer and a maple pecan beer that was recommended we both thought was just out of this world.!

Amazing experience!! Went here with my mom for her birthday and we had Heather as our server. She was the sweetest and most personable and friendly server. Super attentive and she went above and beyond to give us recommendations in Yosemite. The food was absolutely amazing, everything we got was delicious and the dessert (I can't remember the name but it was like a s'mores brownie?) was insanely good. Thank you Heather!!

The man and I took a last-minute trip out to Yosemite so we could ride the train with the pup. We stayed nearby and were looking for a convenient place to eat after a long day. The husband is always on the hunt for a good hazy beer, and when we saw this place offered one and had a happy hour, we decided to give it a try. He ended up saying it was one of the best hazy beers he's ever had, which is high praise coming from him. The happy hour menu had a solid variety of options, enough that we were able to turn it into an early dinner rather than just a snack. Everything we ordered during happy hour hit the spot and felt like a good value. Our waiter was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing. Service like that always makes the experience better. That said, do yourself a favor and skip the brownie dessert. Skip it. Skip it. Skip it. It was extremely doughy, almost more like an underbaked cake, and the ice cream portion was nowhere near enough to balance it out. Unfortunately, it just didn't work and was a big letdown compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, this was a great stop for happy hour drinks, solid food, and excellent service--just don't end your meal with the brownie. It was more like cake! And the ratio was way off!! Not enough ice cream to help out the dry brownie!!!

South Gate Brewing in Oakhurst was an enjoyable spot with good beers and live entertainment on a Friday night. The pasta and pizza were delicious, and there was a nice selection of food and drinks to choose from. However, the service was quite slow. We waited about an hour for our food; although the menu noted that the pizza could take 45 minutes, other parties were waiting just as long and were understandably frustrated. Overall, the food, beer, and entertainment were enjoyable, but the long wait made the experience feel mixed.

While driving to Fresno we stopped at this brewery. We got to enjoy soccer, beer and pizza. Service was fast & friendly. We started with the beer battered artichoke hearts and shared Fresno heat pizza. Everything was delicious and served very hot. Enjoyable friendly atmosphere.

I vaguely remember coming here after running a half marathon years ago. Glad to say I liked it even better this time! We came for a late lunch early dinner and were surprised that it was full inbetween lunch/dinner time! We checked in and waited outside where we could sit and order drinks. We didnt end up having to wait very long for a table though! The food was delicious and the service was so nice! My steak was cooked so well and seasoned perfectly. The fries were perfectly fried and nice and crunchy. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious and we got a half cob salad too that really went well with everything. This is def going to be a good to from now on when we stay in Oakhurst!

My boyfriend and I came here on our last night in Oakhurst and I wish we tried this sooner! This was by far the best food we had in Oakhurst and they had a great selection of beers & cider. It's a nice spot, plenty of seating inside and outside. We didn't have to wait long for a table, but while we waited we got our drinks outside and hung out. I ordered a cider and it was great! My boyfriend ordered a dark beer and liked it a lot. When we were seated we had a lovely waitress who checked in on us regularly. I ordered the southwest smash burger and I loved it! Next time we visit oakhurst we are definitely coming back here.

Great selection of beers and food! Their award winning pecan ale is true to the name and The Pickle Rick was tasty as well- cucumber beer with sea salt from Greece The food is really good as well! apps, salads, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, and hot plates. Nice variety. The garlic fries are bomb! Especially with the homemade ranch. The beer cheese in the Lineman Philly and Mac n Cheese is also salty creamy goodness. The jalapeño line grilled shrimp tacos are also filling! They have indoor and outdoor seating. If you just want some beer/drinks you can order from the outdoor window in the patio and just grab a seat. You can also just grab a drink there while I wait for your table. Worth the wait!

love this place. I haven't been there in a few years and am glad that it survived COVID. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. She didn't hesitate when I asked her for which pizza she recommended, and she was right. She also helped me select a couple of beers to try. The tables are big and you don't feel crowded. There is the main dining room, a bar area with tables along with an outside seating area. We sat inside and shared the Mountaineer wood fired pizza and the fish and chips. Both were excellent. I tried a couple of their beers. I am not a beer expert, but I enjoyed their IPAs. For Dessert we had the churro bites. They were insanely good! Overall, I thought the portions were generous and their prices were good.

Going on a road trip to Yosemite has been exciting.  Along with seeing the awesome trees we found lots of places to eat.  Originally we visted South Gate Brewing Company as Maggie needed a beer.  Now we revisit as the food and drinks are among the best in the area and the staff are friendly and efficient. I ordered the backyard burger.  It was a beef patty topped with pulled pork.  Pulled pork was tender and had a smoky flavor.  Beef was tender and juicy with a tasty beefy flavor.  Very good burger. Fries were semi crispy with a nice fried potato flavor.  Might have been out of the fryer too long as they were not crispy as you would expect right out of the fryer. House brewed root beer was sweet with a bold, delicious root beer flavor.  Lots of carbonation to tickle my mouth.  Among the best root beers I've had. 2nd visit I tried the fried chicken wings with traditional bbq sauce.  Wings had crispy skin with tender moist meat.  Loved the sweet smoky sauce.  Great tasting wings. Look forward to visiting again next time we visit Yosemite.

I got the Chili Maple Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries and there were no regrets. The beer was also great. The staff were super friendly. Even though there wasn't a bit of a wait to be seated, you can still grab a drink at the walk up bar outside while you wait, and even if there's a line the food is worth the wait. Definitely recommend.

A great place to grab food and drinks while visiting the Bass Lake area. They are dog friendly with a large patio. The patio even has a window to easily order drinks. The food is good, but nothing great. Except of course for the beet salad - that was delicious and refreshing! Give. It's the only brewery in the area, we ended up going twice. Service was friendly and attentive!

We came in on a Saturday afternoon after the river and were instantly welcomed by Oscar and his wife. The brewery has a wide selection of beers, all brewed by Oscar himself, and he was kind enough to let us sample whatever we wanted. Every beer we tried was excellent. We hung out for a while chatting with him, and even asked if he knew of a place to watch an English Premier League game the next day. The closest was in Fresno--until Oscar went above and beyond. He told us not to worry, that he would open the brewery just for us on Sunday, even though he's usually closed! The next day we showed up, and Oscar not only opened the doors but let us use our camping stove outside to make tacos. We all enjoyed them together--Oscar included! We expected to stay for about two hours but ended up staying close to five because we were having such a blast. Oscar gave us a tour of the brewery, made us feel like family in his home, gifted us a round on him, and even let us put on some music where we sang at the top of our lungs. I know this is a long review, but it's for a reason. Most breweries can feel impersonal--serve the beer and move on to the next customer. Shuteye Brewery is different. Oscar connects with people and shows, through his actions, that he truly cares about making sure you have a beautiful experience. On top of that, he's dedicated to his community, constantly doing outreach projects to give back. Simply put, the beer is great, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner is amazing. This place is a gem, and I'll be making it a must-stop every time I'm in the area.

This might just become our go to family night. So fun.

I had the Mist Trail, their local hazy brew, and it was honestly one of the best hazies I've had. It was crisp and had the citrus notes I always look for in a good hazy. I also had the 1850 Burger, which did not disappoint. It was cooked to a perfect medium, properly seasoned, and had a great balance of vegetables and a delicious sauce. I don't think it even had cheese, but it was so flavorful that I didn't miss it at all. Then there were the Ahi Nachos, which were on a whole different level. The raw ahi tuna was incredibly fresh, the fried wontons were perfectly crispy, and the sauce they drizzled over everything absolutely sealed the deal. This was easily one of the standout dishes of the meal. This isn't full table service, we ordered at the counter near the entrance, then found a table and waited for our food to be delivered. Everything came out quickly, and the staff continued to check on us throughout our visit. This would be a great spot no matter where it was located, but having a place like this in such a small town makes it stand out even more. Great food, great beer, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'd definitely love to come back here!

I ended up at Summer Park's Brewing today by accident, and I'm really glad I gave it another shot…read more My first visit here was about three years ago on a busy Friday night, and it left a bad impression. I was standing in line, second or third, when another employee opened a register and pulled someone from behind me just because they were a regular. That didn't sit right with me, and it honestly kept me from coming back for a long time. That said, even back then, I tried a few flights and remember the beers being solid across the board. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad either, just consistently middle-of-the-road. Fast forward to today, and it feels like a completely different place. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by George, who was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, he took the time to answer questions, explain the brewery's history, and make thoughtful recommendations. He suggested the chips and dip, which I highly recommend, simple but really well done. I ended up going through three flights this time: a dark/malty flight, a hazy flight, and a sour flight. The sour lineup was fantastic across the board. That said, the standout of the entire visit was the dark Kölsch. It was exceptional and easily the best beer I had. Even the red ale, which I normally don't enjoy, was surprisingly solid. Overall, everything I tried was at least a 5/10 or better. Nothing here dips below average, and several options are genuinely impressive. For context, I tend to grade beer pretty harshly. I've tried a wide range of beers and actively seek out harder-to-find options, so if I'm calling something "middle of the road," most people will probably find it better than that. This lineup will land well for the average beer drinker. The atmosphere has also improved significantly. They've added more seating, expanded into a second room with pinball machines, and the music has been consistently great the entire time I've been here. The front room has four TVs, with one dedicated to the menu and three playing sports, which adds to the relaxed, social vibe. The space is clean, well-maintained, and easy to enjoy whether you're with friends or on a casual date. Parking is decent, around 20-25 spots, and wasn't an issue. What really stands out is how much this place has improved overall. If you had blindfolded me and brought me here today, I wouldn't believe it was the same place I visited three years ago. I'm still not thrilled about how that first visit went, but credit where it's due, this place has made a major turnaround. Between the service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the beer, especially that dark Kölsch, I would absolutely recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely be back.
