The Forks Resort, Bass Lake: 2025 Sep 23 Root Beer Float
    Maggie T.

The Forks Resort, Bass Lake: 2025 Sep 23 (5 of 5) The food is a 5 We managed to squeeze a meal in at The Forks Burger in Bass Lake before they close for the season. This eatery is usually closed for the winter season. Their next scheduled open date is in March of 2026. Please check their website before driving there. Our Orders: The Meal (double cheeseburger on sourdough, French fries, salad): The boys loved their burgers. The platter arrived with salad and a huge amount of fries. Cheeseburger: My order was perfectly seasoned. Imagine me chowing the entire burger down. Thank goodness mine didn't come with fries. LOL. I did steal some of the guy's fries, which was nicely salted. Root Beer Float: This is my weakness. This place serves a very delicious glass of classic root beer float. YUM! Service: Carizma was our server. Like her namesake, she was definitely charismatic, albeit looking a little tired. Parking: There are plenty of parking spots but this place gets crowded, so prepare for a 15-30 minutes wait for a parking spot during their on-season. Note: The Forks Resort is family-owned by the same family for four generations. Their burgers are famously known. The resort's signature Forks Burger received a glowing column in the New Yorker by writer Helen Rosner. The resort operates seasonally, from early spring through early fall.

My only regret is that I didn't frequent this place more during their 2025 Summer season. The food was great, large portion sizes, and plenty of flavor. My boyfriend, dog, and I sat in their outdoor patio area and it is a relaxing place for lunch & afternoon cocktails. Our server, Katie was attentive and offered friendly service throughout our lunch.

I never been here before, it was cute to see the character of the restaurant and store. I tried to order the beyond burger considering I'm vegetarian, but they ran out. I would suggest inventory audit to ensure they have enough patties so people like me who can't eat meat, have a resemblance and option for a hamburger. I ended up ordering the grilled cheese; as it was my only option. All the salads had chicken. My son ordered the Oreo milkshake, which I tried and it was so good. All the desserts looked so good, but I got full. The onion rings were pretty good! My son liked his double burger. I would return to this place for deserts because their selection looked good and eat outside for the view.

Lovely spot for sightseeing and hiking around the area. The dining area is located next to the market, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was fast and friendly, with very generous salad portions. A great place for a quick bite!

My family and I had a pleasant lunch at this small resort diner. The Forks offers both indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of shade. Our waitress Suzi was very friendly. Our food did take about 25-30 mins but apparently it was really busy inside. The menu offers burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and salads. Their dessert menu also looks amazing but we were too full at the end of our meal to try anything. I ordered a cheese burger for about $9, and fries on the side. The burger had a toasted patty, a thin, juicy patty and super fresh lettuce, tomato and onion on top. The fries were thin and almost had a beer battered taste. It was all very tasty! I would definitely return to try their other sandwiches and salads.

Ok my besties you know what I think about old fashion hospitality and a genuine appreciation by businesses. Well the Forks Resort Cafe at Bass Lake was absolutely four 's up. Susi our waitress was absolutely amazing making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The ambiance of this place omg just wonderful outdoors with lake view. The grounds were kept up very well. We dined alfresco and glad we did it was a beautiful day. Now the menu was huge and the selection was great and the portions, let's just say you will certainly be pleased. Now I know this place has been there for years but hey, this place is like wine it keeps getting better with age. Give this place a try and enjoy. .

My family and I love coming here for breakfast every time we come to Bass Lake. The service is fantastic here and the food never fails. The view of the water is great and love seeing the old school decorations at the bar

The rustic and charm of these cabins are very unique and relaxing in the mountain lake air. The resort also has a bfast lunch and dinner spot overlooking the lake and the cute store has pretty much everything you might of forgotten. It's actually attached to the restaurant. Staff, and owners are very friendly and nice. we also rented patio boats, kayaks and paddle boards this week. When the temps are high we can smell the pine trees and the lake water together and it's absolutely amazing. We actually come here every year and now has grown to other family members who now love it. The next generation will take over our tradition.

We were checking out the area and were told by the locals this place had killer burgers. It is across from the lake and part of a resort. We waited quite a while but we wanted outside seating and it was Memorial Day weekend. Everybody else got "the works" which includes a double cheeseburger fries and salad. There were no complaints. To me the fries were only ok, but I feel like most are. I ordered the club sandwich with onion rings. Club sandwich was pretty good. The onion rings were fantastic! I love good onion rings! The view can't be beat from the patio. It was also a great idea to put out communal bug spray. I didn't need it this day but had I been under attack by mosquitoes I would have happily.

Food was great here stopped by on the way to the lake for lunch/dinner, ordered the bacon ranch salad, came out perfect after 20-ish minutes. Service was fast considering how busy they were on a Saturday. It's included in a lodging-like area sharing the space but provided ample diner-like ambiance. Overall great choice for the area!

How far in advance does the resort book it's cabins? I've noticed the calendar only goes into January at this time but the dates are all unavailable/blocked.

I want to say 6 months but not 100 on that.

Is the restaurant open during off season?

Unfortunately, no. Only during the early summer through summer season.

First timer and will be a life-long visitor from now on!…read more SERVICE: Amazing! Super welcoming staff and accommodating. We ended up extending our stay and took care of it right away. I was about to cancel our reservation due to the recent snow/winter storm and even with chains we were worried about becoming stranded but they were kind enough to offer a reschedule due to the promo being non cancellable. Glad we stuck through the new reservation! Communication was very easy; either through messages or phone call and our needs were met quickly. Being a first timer in the resort and the area, they were very helpful with answering our questions about things to do or where to go. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Check in was a breeze with online and at registration, so was check out. AMENITIES: Granted we went during winter months and right after a snowstorm so we really weren't able to use the amenities such as the pool or hot tub but we were able to walk around and it was open. The Pines market is very convenient with all our needs as well as the other shops and stores for snacks or different foods. Parking was easy at the registration although they might need to repaint some of the numbers or lines in front of the chalets but other than that, no issues with parking at all. ROOM/ACCOMMODATION: We reserved a 2 queens chalet with lakeside view. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the electric pole/trees towards the lake but can still see some of the lake. It was still a beautiful view and the location of our chalet was close to the amenities. The chalet was clean and had no harsh cleaning solution smells. I loved that it came with a kitchenette and the balcony to do some outdoor grilling. The place was comfortable and homey. I wish there was just another toilet upstairs lol because there was 4 of us and we somehow managed to want to use the restroom at the same time multiple times LOL. But otherwise, everything was in working condition. As a suggestion, if they can change the bedroom tv to a smart tv because the cable channels kept glitching and channel options were slim also if possible just have it on the wall, creates more walking space because it was pretty tight walking to the beds lol. There's this little cubby space on the other side of the bathroom wall where a dresser (a tall one) could be put instead. Otherwise, I still very much loved our stay. We absolutely did not want to leave. I cannot wait to book this resort again. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff, amenities and accommodation! Close to yosemite and oakhurst. Very convenient.

We had our annual camping trip at one of the local campsites near Miller's Landing resort. One of our days we decided to use our 15% off coupon from our campsite to Rent a 9 persons pontoon boat. The folks working at the counter for the boat rental were friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same thing for the dude's working at the actual boat dock. They gave us weird vibes. Like, have y'all never seen Asians renting a boat? WTF are you guys glaring at? WTF is so funny? It was irritating AF! Thankfully, the time on the water was really fun! The kids had such a good time zipping around on the water and we also rented a tube that we towed off the back of the pontoon boat. Yes, it's not a speed boat, but it was fast enough for the kids to enjoy being towed around. The next day we went back to Miller's Landing to use their public showers. Five dollars for five minutes. Make it quick! The shower's were clean, water was warm, or cold if you prefer, but the line can get long. There is no complimentary shampoo, soap, or conditioner, so be sure to BYO. It was a good option for those of us who were tent camping that NEEDED a shower. Although we didn't dine in the restaurant, we did get drinks, ice cream, and milkshake's from the café, all of which were really tasty. We will definitely plan to incorporate a boat rental, showers, and meals at Miller's Landing when we plan our annual camping trip for next year!

I loved the Worldmark Bass Lake as each unit was a 2 story townhouse.  There was nobody above us and I rarely heard the people next to us.  At other Worldmarks I was often woken up by people walking on the floor above us.  I'm not a good sleeper away from home but I got some good sleep here. There is the nearby town of Oakhurst about 15 minutes away which had a good amount of restaurants.  I was impressed there was a street vendor selling half flats of strawberries for $20.  I bought one and was eating strawberries everyday.  Strawberries needed another day or 2 before they were fully ripe.  After I let them sit in the kitchen they were sweet and juicy with lots of strawberry flavor.  Better than supermarket strawberries but not quite as good as my favorite farmers market strawberries. Staff was friendly and helpful.  Lots to do and see nearby.  I loved staying at Bass Lake Worldmark Spring 2024 road trip to Yosemite + King's Canyon National Parks: Golden Dragon was our 1st stop for food. https://www.hungryones.com/2024/05/golden-dragon-2/ We stayed at Worldmark Bass Lake. https://www.hungryones.com/2024/05/worldmark-bass-lake/

Worldmark units have their own pool, etc, and the RCI units share a pool, parking lot, trash bins with some actual homeowners who live in that same area. They are not very friendly (who can blame them, while we were there a guest drove his truck through someone's backyard.) Forgive the length, but good info here: The unit: We stayed in unit A35, in building 3, closest to the lake but with no lake view. Perfect unit if you want a quiet place to relax and an opportunity to see wildlife. It faces the boat parking lot. Upstairs in the master is a window facing the road. Anyone on the road can see into the window so we just left the blinds closed. No road noise to speak of. There is only 1 shower/tub and it's upstairs, so not technically a 2 bath as stated. With 4 people,  it's a bit inconvenient. Photos show all the room appointments, it was perfect for us. Both bedrooms were upstairs with the full bath.  The lake: Very short 5 min walk to the lake. We easily rolled our kayaks over every morning.  Lake gets very busy, but the water is incredibly clear. We spent hours exploring the shoreline and wetlands. Angel Falls trailhead is also in walking distance from the resort, although there are a few places along the road where there is no shoulder, so its not for the faint of heart. Yosemite Access: Wawona entrance is only 30 min from the lake but it's another hour to get to the main attractions in the park (bridal veil falls etc.) We were here during the Wahburn and Oak fires so we had to use the entrance gate waaaay over on the other side of Mariposa. After 1.5 hours of driving, we then had a 2 hour wait to get in the park. I don't recommend it. I cannot recommend this place enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. From the pool to the lake, there are tons of things to do and explore,  enough to keep all ages busy.

It's no deal at $139 per night (plus I added and extra person) so they charged $20 per night extra. It's rustic, not fancy, the kitchen is old, not cleanly and the pan I used to cook breakfast still had grease in it. When I went to wash the pan I had dish soap provided but no scrubber or sponge. It was frustrating. Stay at a hotel or just camp inside Yosemite.

The town of Oakhurst is my favorite as it offers great amenities that are the closest to the best entrance to Yosemite in my opinion. Lets start with the food. This is one of the best culinary experiences I have had and it is consistently good. The three course or five course dining service is stellar. These chefs are some of the best in the world and Ive been all over the world. The leadership of Erica is not to be surpassed. She has an incredible calm spirit with a smiling happy crew that provides top notch service with warmth and class. The bartender Jordan is a delight with his great smile and kind eyes. The food experience made me feel like I was being nourished from the inside out not just with nutrition but with love and flavor that was new and revitalizing. This was my first stay at the Chateau Sureau. Oh my heart. I feel that I was healed and restored from a level of stress I dont think I realized I was carrying from our busy crazy noisy world at home. The property is exquisite with old world charm and the perfect patina of age that makes you feel you are in the old country of Paris or Austria or England. The landscape is stunning and it was raining so the fireplaces were roaring and the pines were glistening with silver drops backlit by an incredible sunset. The breakfast service is top notch and the staff is incredibly attentive. You know its good when you know each others names. Thanks to Lorenzo, Sienna, Logan, Jissel and Lori for incredible Chalet guest service. Then, there is the spa. I just had to go since I was feeling like my life was coming back to my ownership again. The Spa is gorgeous. The spa. director Way has been on this property for 20 years. I had the best facial and conversation with her. What a treasure she is. Kim was my massage therapist and she is one of the best I have ever had and my son at home is a therapist as well so I feel qualified to say so. I got to spend my time in the couples massage room which has stunning views, a balcony that looks out from the hot bubbling soaking tub that you get to use after your massage. I had a choice of oils to add and we went with elderberry which is incredible for soft skin. Its absolutely wonderful. The small scale in size lent itself to making connections with other guests that were fantastic and I made friends here while staying that will last! I will be back everytime I am in town. I was here on a rainy weeks end and it added to the magic. I can imagine what it is like in spring when the gorgeous grounds are covered in flowers blooming. I cant wait to see it again then or even next month for the holidays! Eddie greeted us upon arrival and walked us around the area, showed us local sites, and gave us local secrets about the area. We found out about Bass Lake and never would have known what a great local place it is. We stayed in the Cedar room and it exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size, huge bathroom and little mini fridge. Double doors opened to the outside and we had the main door that opened to the hallway. Our room was at the very beginning so no noise at all. The AC was cool and the fan was quiet. We enjoyed the bed and breakfast concept and mingled with the other patrons while we were there. Everyone was very friendly and we all talked about Yosemite and our experiences. I recommend stating here for the great price and atmosphere, along with all the amenities. Thanks Eddie!!!

The staff here are very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast for staying guests. There was a massive variety of breakfast options. Well organized and cleanliness was maintained throughout our experience. Jimmy was cleaning the dining area and he greeted us and asked if he can clean a section to accommodate our large group. He was very nice. There was a very sweet lady working in the kitchen area. I didn't grab her name but she was hospitable and genuinely nice. She took our last name before eating and let us know what yummy food options were available. We will definitely be coming back.

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite
