During that time, Dr. Kerst has always treated my family with kindness and made us feel comfortable and cared for. My parents have been especially well taken care of by Dr. Kerst over the years, and my husband has also received wonderful care from him. This has truly felt like a family dental practice to us. I have had many dental issues over the years, and I have walked into his office embarrassed and anxious, only to have Dr. Kerst make me feel calm, respected, and cared for. That has meant a great deal to me. My daughter was born with congenitally missing teeth, and Dr. Kerst has taken beautiful care of her throughout all these years as well. One of the things I have always appreciated most about Latah Creek is that it felt like a family practice. We were never treated like a number. We felt like people who were known and cared about. Unfortunately, what happened on August 11,2026, completely changed that for me. My daughter, who is a college student, went in to have cavities treated. My husband and I were both working, and the office required her to pay $800--approximately half of the bill--before she could leave. I am listed as the guarantor and responsible party in their system. When my daughter called me afterward, she was extremely upset and crying, I felt so bad she was in this situation, I called my husband in tears, he works out of town and the last thing he wants to hear is that both of his girls are in tears because of a dentist office that we have trusted for years, the payment was taken from her account, essentially draining the money she had available as a college student. She said she felt like she was being detained. I know it's so hard to do any paperwork when you've been in the Dental chair and you're numb, that definitely made everything even worse. Those are the moments we need the most care when we're a little out of it. I was honestly shocked and heartbroken. After 10 years of being a patient and bringing my family there, I never expected my daughter to be put in that position. Regardless of the office's billing policies, I believe there was a much more compassionate way to handle the situation, especially when the responsible party was already on file. I want to make it clear that this is not a reflection of Dr. Kerst. He has always made me feel safe and comfortable, and he has taken wonderful care of my entire family. That is a huge reason this situation is so upsetting. Naomi and Tuesday at the front desk have also always been kind to us. Unfortunately, my experience with Audrey Collins at the front desk has damaged the trust I had in this practice. My daughter will not be returning, and I am honestly unsure whether I will continue as a patient myself. Finding a new dentist is a very difficult step for me because of how comfortable Dr. Kerst has made me feel over the years. I am leaving this review because I hope the practice understands how much one interaction can affect a relationship that took 10 years to build. I truly hope this situation is addressed, because I have always valued the care, compassion, and family feeling that Latah Creek Dentistry provided to my family.

When I complained, they knocked off a few hundred dollars, but would not live up to their original estimate. There were no issues or complications, and they had no evidence I had ever been quoted more than the original $5,000. I call it "bait and switch" at best or "dishonest" at the least. If you decide to use this dentist I recommend you get a written estimate in advance and expect to pay more.

There is a full coffee bar and your order gets taken before your appointment so your drink is ready right when you leave. The hygienist, Nikki, was the most sweet and caring person and made my first appointment incredible. She was very kind and explained the entire process to me, what she saw on the monitor, and why the treatment plan was recommended with opportunity for me to change if I wanted to. Dr.Derek was very nice as well and both were sensitive about my oral history as well as genuine with how we will move forward. This office puts every other dentist I've ever had to shame because Dr.C's office has the most competent and knowledgeable crew you will find in Washington. He worked on me on a Saturday and at this time I didn't know how bad it was. He put me back together awesome. The lady at the front desk Halle was friendly and attentive to my questions and making sure I had the appointments that lined with my schedule. the staff that I got to meet and interact with made me feel confirmable during my healing and checkups, thanks to Daisy, Briget, Shawnee, and Staci, to all the ones that I might have missed. He briefly looked inside my mouth, touched my internal scar for maybe 20 seconds, spent about two minutes explaining that he couldn't help me, and then charged me $300 in cash. There were no X-rays, etc. What made things worse was that his office had already received my medical and dental insurance information. Yet, the staff got defensive and refused to file or submit the claim, saying they wouldn't handle the paperwork. I've experience working with another dental surgeon with a different specialty who is also not in my insurance network -- and that team goes above and beyond to help me and ensure every step of the process is covered. I went to another dentist. He looked at it and said, "I dont want to throw anybody under the bus, but this is definitely not perfect work." The crown was installed and my teeth still hurt. In fact my are worse than they were before Kyle did his "work." I will need to have my new dentist redo the crown. From what I've seen and experienced, I think Kyle lacks the skills to be called a high quality dentist. Perhaps he kind find a high-quality dentist to mentor him.

Was very happy with the cleaning so I went back. The second time I went in to get my teeth cleaned, it was a newer hygienist and she was not prepared. Spent 10-15 min when I first sat down getting her things together. Then after the Dr checked me out, she spent MAYBE a total of 15 min cleaning my teeth. She had made a comment about how good my teeth look, and I think that therefore meant to her that she didn't need to spend time actually doing a deep clean. Which is absolutely not how that works. If I'm spending $300 out of pocket for you to clean my teeth, you'd better be looking in all the little nooks and crannies. The practice…read moretried to pad the bill with services that we not only didn't ask for but explicitly asked to be excluded. 3 Times I received a patient plan with those services attached and asking for the money upfront in spite of having insurance and unwillingness to understand the patient just wanted the problem alleviated and that future care will result in dentures for my husband. A week into this I received the "updated" plan with those services still included, the teeth not dealt with and the pain persisting. They seem more concerned with the almighty dollar instead of taking care of the patient to prevent possible infection or abscess while they try to convince us of services we have already said no to several times!
