We've ordered from South Lake Pizza a few times, and it's always a solid choice! The pizzas are a great size with plenty of cheese, almost like a deep-dish style. We always seem to stop in on their busiest days, and while the wait times can be a bit long, it's great to see them constantly busy. They have a young crew working hard, and you can tell at times it gets overwhelming with the phones ringing, orders printing, and customers coming in nonstop. This place is is a go-to if you want a good cheesy pizza at a decent price. The crust and red sauce to me is just ok, but opinions vary. The red sauce is super thick and rich, I like a more fresh, practically pink sauce. As a Lake Stevens regular, the pizza is all over the place here. We've been going here for a while but this place has made a turn for the worse. It's either burnt or doughy and undercooked. Let me start by saying the guy who finally answered the phone was nice, helpful and apologetic. The young man that delivered our pizzas was nice and apologetic. We ordered 3 pizzas and cheese bread from SLP. The receipt said it was due to us one hour from ordering it. After an hour and 12 mins I call to check on it. Unfortunately, the number on their website rang and then said the number was disconnected. This happened 3 times. I checked google and then tried the number their google site had listed. Tried it 3 times, it rang and hung up. Okay, thinking I am now getting scammed I go back to their website to double check the number. In the mean time I get a text that says my pizza just got out of the oven and will be on its way in 10-20 mins. What!!! I decided to try the phone number again. Alas, the original works. The young man on the phone was apologetic. When I asked if delivery normally takes over 90 mins he explained that on Mon and Tuesday they only have 1 driver and they had been pretty busy tonight with orders. He did say my order was the last to come out so it "should be" fresh when it arrived. The driver arrived about 1:45 mins after ordering. Our pizza was fresh and it was good. The cheesy bread was not either of those and was even cheese side up , smashed to the top of the cardboard. I do not think we will return here. The pizza was good but not good enough to deal with that kind of wait when you are 3 miles down the road. I could consider picking it up but from reading the reviews here it doesn't sound like it would have worked out any better. read more

Friendly staff and friendly service. However they changed their hot sandwiches, the bread is now sourdough and have garlic butter neither of which I am a fan of for hot sandwiches the menu description doesn't detail either of these 2 changes. The pizza is good but the delivery is NEVER on time. I mean, an hour and a half later calling and asking where your pizza is. The poor delivery drivers (not their fault) OR the folks making the pizzas in the store. They're all great. Not sure why exactly but my family doesn't appreciate this joint as much as I do. Maybe the cheese quantity or maybe the crust. I enjoy a nice deep dish like crust that is kinda yeasty and crunchy. They're close to a great balance of all but a little short. The toppings are delicious and sauce is always on point. I love the amount of cheese but my family thinks it's too much. We've eaten here a few times as a family but I've been quite a few times more. I think this is as close to an old school pizza place like pietros or shakeys. Surprised I hadn't reviewed this place before because it's delicious and well priced. We've had a few incidents with lost orders and long delivery times but decided not to give up and it's been fine for a long time. We've tried most everything in the menu except any of the pastas and everything is super good. Sometimes we pick up but when we've had delivery all of the drivers have been nice too. Love south lake pizza! They have been around forever! They are ALWAYS consistent on their food. And their service is 10/10. The other night we ordered food at 7:30 not realizing they closed at 8... and they STILL fulfilled the order and we're so nice about it. Not a single rude side comment or remark or anything. I would have canceled if I would have known!! And the food was phenomenal still! we ordered the hot wings which were 10/10 cooked perfectly they are very saucy so you have to like that!, and Philly pizza--- which if you haven't tried I would have to say it's one of the best on the menu, their white sauce is to die for.
