The service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The decor was utilitarian. Tables, chairs, napkins and ketchup. Set up to eat and go. But let's talk about the food, beginning with the off brand ketchup. Not Heinz. Rookie mistake. I'm from Philadelphia where the argument is always whose cheesesteaks do you prefer--Jim's or Pat's? If you're from Phila, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. My guess is that the chefs here have never been to Jim's nor Pat's to experience a real Philly cheesesteak. Although you can customize it, the cheesesteak is offered with shaved American, onions and hot peppers. Authentic Philly cheesesteaks have freshly chopped onions and GREEN peppers (not hot) with Cheese Whiz--which is how I ordered mine. They were happy to accommodate. Unfortunately, the balance of the entire sandwich was off. The onions were sparse and the green peppers tasted canned, not fresh. The whiz was not really noticeable, and it was all served on a room temperature roll--not warm, not toasted. A true South Philly cheesesteak is a hearty sandwich stuffed with meat, a healthy serving of fresh sauteed vegetables and dripping with cheese. I was served an okay steak sandwich that did not remind me of a culinary experience in South Philly. There's a reason the line for Jim's goes around the block even though there are dozens of tables and that people go to Pat's in the middle of winter to order from the outdoor walk up window. First time in this location after trying out the other 2 and it was good, but not what I was expecting, I came to this location looking forward for their burger, I also had boneless wings with garlic parm sauce as an appetizer, from the beginning everything was pretty good, service is always amazing and the vibes of the place are always nice, but everything went downhill when I got my boneless and they were frozen in the inside, I communicated to the server about the situation and they gladly fixed it with no problems, I also ordered my burger medium rare but it was well done, I've work in a restaurant before and I know that this kind of mistakes happen and I don't really mind them when it happens, overall the wings were pretty flavorful but I was disappointed with the burger, also the garlic parm sauce doesn't really feel like sauce and it's more like just garlic butter, I still recommend this place because of their staff and how kind they are, but, I would definitely get the cheesesteaks over the burger :) read more

You will never find a harder group of working women than you do at this place and if I ever owned a restaurant, I would handpick one of these girls that work in there because they bust their butts every single time and they're extremely organized. I have never once gotten a meal that was wrong in the take-home bag and it has always been a great quality. The consistency is what you're looking for and they have it. The food is really good. They will cook you your cheesesteak anyway you would like it. My wife gets the hamburger once in a while and it comes in a pizza box because that's where they put her fries and she being rather picky loves it as well. read more

I really like this Cheesesteak shop. They aren't my #1 but they aren't way off either. Tough competition here in Sarasota. The service is always quick and friendly. Erin is especially Great. I grew up on this incredible Philly Cheesesteak, so when I saw they moved out east closer to me, I became obsessed. I also love the food! The chicken Philly is my most favorite! I love to pair it with their tator tots! Fresh bread, three cheese slices, lots of peppers and onions, and ribeye on a fresh bread - 6 or 12 inch sandwiches available. Prices are reasonable. Very tasty. And the bread was stuffed full. Unlike the Philly spots, here they chop the meat, cheese and veggies diligently until its consistency is more like ground beef. It does combine the ingredients thoroughly. Staff was friendly snd there are a handful of tables if you want to eat in. Place was full on a weekday at lunchtime. Will try some of their other offerings next visit. read more

My boyfriend and I placed a pick up order via phone. Took about 15 minutes for a philly cheesesteak all the way 10in. and a buffalo chicken steak, DELICIOUS! They both come with chips, they only have regular chips at this location, the other has a few different options. We haven't dined in at this location but the sandwiches were still very warm and tasty when we got home. I think this will be our new favorite spot when craving a really good philly cheesesteak ! My companion and I were out and about on the Easter weekend. We had had South Philly cheesesteaks before, and knew the french fries were very good. Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to return. The restaurant sits at a very busy intersection in a strip mall, and has indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to eat inside, and we immediately met by the waitress who promptly took our drink order and returned to take our order. She was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with no peppers and my companion ordered the Bollettieri Chicken Salad. I also ordered a side of the Phiery fries. The home style fries arrived first, and had a nice spicy Sriracha seasoning. The side of Ranch dressing went well with the fries. My Philly and the Bollettieri Chicken Salad arrive shortly thereafter. The salad is huge and is easily fit for two. In our case we brought some home. The salad has a full blackened chicken breast on top and at least half a cup of feta cheese. It is also full of walnuts and cranberries. The Philly cheesesteak arrived, hot on an Amarosa bread bun, and had just the right of onions and cheese for me. I don't like green peppers, and they gladly left them off. We arrived right at the rush as the restaurant quickly filled up, but the waitress was very attentive and kind. As quickly as a restaurant filled up, it emptied out. I was very impressed with the small staff ability to keep everything moving. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and welcoming And the glasses of Coca-Cola were large. While I find Delco's in Dunedin to have a better Philly cheesesteak, this one is definitely serviceable and worth a second visit. read more

Staff is always busy which is a testament to how fabulous the food is and always accommodating and cheery. The food is excellent and only one of two places I will eat. Its an evil indulgence when it comes to my diet but well worth it. If you eat in, take a moment before biting into the sandwich because it us hot! I love how you can watch the chef cook your dinner with the open kitchen. There is nothing I could possibly find fault with. The owner was there today and we had a great conversation and I didn't realize there was another restaurant on the west side of Bradenton. I am hoping he opens one in Sarasota, since they are severely missing out in that area for a fabulous menu that is quick whether you dine in or take out. Amazing cheesesteak It is wonderful that South Philly Cheesesteaks have found a home in Bradenton, and now on Main St in Sarasota. Their first location over on 34th St W has been very popular, and now they are expanding. We headed to their location on Lockwood Ridge yesterday for lunch. Boy was it great. I got their large Cheesesteak Wiz Wit (cheese wiz and grilled onions), a heavy and substantial sandwich even at only 10". It looks like they mixed white American cheese in with the ribeye, giving it that authentic temperature hot first bite, and then topped it with cheese wiz. I had the option of including hot or sweet peppers in the meat mixture, I went sweet. To really do it right you have to have the right bread. South Philly does, importing it from the famed Amoroso Bakery, the preeminent bakery for cheesesteak rolls. Put it all together and you are in Philly heaven. Our server was very pleasant and helpful as we got settled. We liked the place, not busy during our late lunch visit, convenient parking. It is part of a large shopping area, South Philly located way over to one end facing Lockwood Ridge. We also got an order of fries, something listed on a specials chalkboard. So much food. Enough for four people, it was natural cut fries with bleu cheese and balsamic dressings, bits of bacon, maybe more stuff. You can see it in the background in my photo. read more

The name alone was enough to make me stop! I'm from Philly, lived in the Italian Market (1200 block of Alder) and have eaten my weight in South Philly Cheesesteaks - admittedly I'm a tough judge. The place was hopping for a weekday with most of the tables outside full and a few people at the table inside. But, they seem to do a really great take out business. The decor is very Philly with a great mural but it's not overdone. I'm a bit of a Cheesesteak purist - an 'authentic' Philly cheesesteak has three things - a great roll, steak and cheese. Onions and anything are add on's. Their Philly cheesesteak comes in sizes 6", 8" and 10" - they use shaved Rib Eye, American Cheese and it comes with Fried Onions and Hot Peppers cooked into the meat. I went with the 8" sandwich ($9.500 with American Cheese and Fried Onions - no Hot Peppers. I love the heat but feel like cooking it in overwhelms the flavor of the meat. They come on an Amoroso Roll which makes a great sandwich - I've just found that they lose something when they package and ship them- but it is still a great roll. The sandwich had plenty of meat and cheese, but they chopped the daylights out of the meat - it almost looked ground by the time they finished. It was a good size Cheesesteak for the price, and the Herr's Potato Chips that came with it were huge plus. Although the Tater Tots they were serving looked and smelled awesome. In Philly I would probably give them a 7 out of 10 but by Florida standards I would absolutely stop for another one when I'm in the area. read more

I really can't recommend this place . The Philly Cheese steak Sandwich I got was a couple dollars more than what is listed on their website (they need to update that) . But the main point I want to make is that the sandwich lacked FLAVOR. I was searching and I really struggled to find it. The sand which was packed with a lot of bland meat which was so disappointing. I spent $9.10 and got a 6 inch Sandwich and chips. I will never be back, I'm better off making my own at home at least I know mine will taste 10X better. By far the weirdest restaurant experience that I've ever had and I will not be returning. We ordered our food to go because we were in between basketball games and wouldn't have time to sit and eat the entire meal. Since I am gluten free the waitress suggested the Philly just without the bread. Which I have ordered and enjoyed at other Philly places. When the food came out it was just a to go container of meat. In my experience most subs come with a minimum of lettuce and tomatoes. When I asked about it, I was told that would make it a salad and " I won't charge you this time, but next time l I'll have to". I then had to ask for a fork because we were not given any. This clearly irritated the waitress, who responded by breathing deeply and telling me that they are not allowed to serve people with take out orders and that if I wanted to be served I would have needed to dine in and they would serve me. Needless to say, we will never go back there and I'll make sure to tell all the parents of my son's team. It's a shame for them because as a team we are often looking for quick places to eat and we are scheduled to be in the area every other weekend for a while. I do not recommend. read more

Incredible cheesesteaks. Friendly service. I go whenever I visit family in the area. It's been consistently good for years and I was introduced to it by family who had been going there longer. It's not the healthiest thing I eat, so it's not an everyday place for me... But I wish it could be. I'm not a cheesesteak connoisseur but people have told me they are some of the best outside Philly. I haven't found anything close in California (one place is close but the portions are smaller and most are not worth the calories once you've tasted a really good one). So when I called for a togo order apparently I left an order with the wrong location even though that was the number listed online. Each offering (Chicken Cheesesteak, Buffalo Chicken, and traditional Cheesesteak) and accompanying sides were delish!
