(and beware too, those "low cost" clinics are often more than your vet). i called ahead to ask their pricing and they wouldn't tell me over the phone, but having been there i can vouch that it's cheap. they did try to sell me their "wellness plan," which isn't practical for me, but i know people who like it. basically for a monthly fee you get your preventatives and office visits for free. in order to sign up, you have to have a credit card on file, but you don't necessarily have to use it to pay, you can still pay cash at the time of visit. wait time was just as long as with busy private vets. everyone was friendly, and knowledgable. still if my pet ever got truly sick, i'd probably go to a place that isn't in a retail store**. i'd recommend this place for vaccines and wormings. * edit to take back what i said about saving money. going over invoices line by line banfield charged me as much, sometimes more, than my regular vet. that leaves the convenience factor as its primary selling point. **edited again to add, tried using this place for a sick pet who needs ongoing care. i found that the medicine cost an absolute fortune, and not all of it would have been covered by the wellness plan. and while the techs were awesome, i had a vet who didn't know how to interact with a skittish animal, oblivious to clear body language. this made the experience painful for the pet when it didn't have to be. still, if all my pet needed was preventative care, i'd be comfortable using banfield. they're definitely good enough for that.

My dog received a rabies vaccination here and a few days later began developing what turned out to be a severe allergic reaction. Naturally, I called the office right away, concerned and looking for guidance. I was told there were no available appointments and that I would have to wait six days until my previously scheduled visit. When your pet is clearly having a reaction, being told to wait nearly a week is unacceptable. When we were finally seen, the doctor administered allergy shots and prescribed prednisone. Unfortunately, the very next day my dog developed a severe eye reaction. I immediately called the office again, only to be told once more that there were no appointments available and that they could not see us that day. At that moment, I felt completely defeated and helpless. When your pet is suffering and you are reaching out for urgent medical help, the last thing you expect is to be turned away repeatedly because there are "no appointments." Emergencies and post-treatment complications should be treated with urgency and compassion. I felt completely unsupported during a stressful and frightening situation. Access to timely follow-up care is a basic expectation in veterinary medicine, especially after administering vaccines and medications that can cause reactions. Sadly, this clinic failed to provide that. I cannot recommend a practice that is unavailable when their patients need them most.

Unfortunately, every application we submitted went completely unanswered. We even spoke with a volunteer during one visit who told us that this lack of follow-through happens often, and that many of the cats have been there for years despite people applying. It's heartbreaking to see animals waiting so long for homes while potential adopters are ignored. We ultimately adopted elsewhere last summer after never receiving a response. When we stopped in again recently, the same cat we had applied for multiple times was still there, now fully grown after nearly three years in the shelter. I truly hope this organization improves its communication and adoption process, because these cats deserve better than being left waiting indefinitely in a dark attic. Read the other reviews, you'll see that there are many people experiencing the same thing here.
