This is of course a beautiful place with a great view! And the food was good - we got the shrimp appetizer, shrimp entree, and salmon entree. I was disappointed to see the crab cakes had been removed from the menu and overall there wasn't much seafood on the menu at all for being a place by the river with an overall vibe that seemed like they would have seafood. The service was decent and like I said, the food was good. Servings were a bit small for the price and the menu was a tad bit disappointing. Ambiance is amazing though.

The food was very flavorful and creamy. The wine was tasty. The service was fast and they were so polite. The view is amazing. There was a lite breeze and you can see out to the water and the lower areas where people can walk.

CQ hit it out of the park today. Clearly short of staff, they still managed timely service. We had 6 for lunch and they still served up hot food and brought it to the table in a single service. (Something I've learned to appreciate). The kids liked their pizza and chicken fingers. The grownups ran the gamut. Two fresh salads (spinach and Greek) topped with chili lime grilled shrimp. A Harrods burger grilled to medium as requested, and a cod sandwich on rye. All perfectly prepared. The fries were a thicker cut, but crispy on the outside while soft inside. They were so good, my grandson wouldn't share. (Santa's gonna remember that). Chips & queso were just average, but the peel it yourself shrimp were crisp and perfectly seasoned. The kitchen was cooking today and the servers were hustling. It's great when both sides of service mesh so well. Kudos to Captain Quarters.

I've been here a few times with friends and I've always had great service! The servers are always helpful and patient, especially with large parties. The chicken Caesar salad is really good but for me, the fries were a bit too crispy. Definitely recommend for any celebrations or a quick dinner.

The view... the view... the view! We visited on a Friday night. Live music and boat watching. We only had drinks so I can't speak to the food. There is plenty of lawn seating.. grab an Adirondack chair and a beverage and watch the sunset. Our stay was short but we really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I always enjoy CQ, for the view and the boat watching! Beautiful spot on the river to dine. Service is always pretty slow. Don't come if you are in a hurry. The food is generally good. Today I had a fish sandwich. It was a good piece of fish and I like their breading. It was very dry though. No tartar sauce, no coleslaw came with it, which it was supposed to have. It takes a long time to get waited on and then a long time to wait to get the check. I would have had another drink but was afraid that would be another hour of waiting. I always come for the view though!

this place is not worth the money. side salad is $7 and it's nothing but a bowl of lettuce. the fried green tomatoes were horrible. the tomato fell out of the batter. my food along with my son's food was cold. the seafood trio was not worth $32. my wife liked her hot brown but has had much better at ganders. our guest liked her salmon salad. I couldn't get a water refill for 20 minutes. our waiter asked us for a dessert order while we were still eating our main course. we did receive a free birthday dessert of derby pie which was excellent. overall, the meal was not worth the money. way over priced. the Brussel sprouts were decent and the onion rings were ok.

The food and atmosphere were fantastic. This kitchen staff knows what they are doing back there and they get 5stars! Unfortunately, the wait staff was not as good. They were OK, but most of them were young teenagers who did not seem very enthusiastic about their summer job. Otherwise this is a fantastic establishment and I highly recommend it.

Overall lovely meal with beautiful outdoor settting. Gets super super crowded on evenings with nice weather. Plenty of overflow parking.

I went with a group of friends to catch a local band we love and try something new during this visit to Captains Quarters. I always enjoyed them supporting local artists and bands while keeping the evening filled with music and good food. I try something different every time I visit and I kept hearing about the amazing CQ Classic. It had a little fun kick between the banana peppers and loved sharing it with my best friend. We chose the cauliflower crust and it was still crispy. Also the last two bands SoundStation and Southside Groove were amazing. I highly recommend checking them out on Facebook and their next shows.

In my defense, I think it's because we have so many great local restaurants! Suffice to say, this place will be on my top 10 of places to recommend, especially in the fish category as well as scenic spots for dining ambience. We sat outside on the lower deck overlooking the dock. The only drawback was the intermittent almost nauseating smell of exhaust from idling boats. This was tolerable for us since it was thankfully only occasional and brief. Parking was also a bit of a hassle, but patience will be rewarded. Our party of 4 was seated within 15 minutes of arrival for a Saturday 5 PM dining, which is fast for anywhere in this town for this time slot. We also never felt rushed during our visit, which is also a great compliment considering how busy and popular this place happens to be. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Sorry that I don't recall her name, only that she wore a hat that referred to her dog (Max?). She was able to make great recommendations and also shared some insider tips about the queso dip. Food and drink service was efficient and timely. We ordered the queso dip, fried fish, broiled fish, grilled shrimp, rice, steamed broccoli, onion rings, baked potato, and salads. Consensus was that all of our choices were delicious and prepared very well. Looking forward to future visits, especially during nice weather to be able to fully enjoy the water views during dining.

I'm not sure if the $2 version was a smaller size or only offered at certain times, but honestly... the drinks were still worth it. The flavor was amazing, and unlike a lot of brunch drinks that taste watered down, these were actually strong. Two glasses definitely had me feeling tipsy, so I can't complain too much there. The main reason I took off a star was the parking situation and accessibility concerns. The handicap parking is positioned perpendicular to the main road, which honestly feels unsafe when backing out. If someone already has mobility or visibility limitations, backing directly into a busy road can be stressful and dangerous. The rest of the parking area is also gravel, which can be difficult to navigate with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers, or even just for someone unsteady on their feet. It's one of those situations where it's great that handicap parking exists close to the entrance, but the actual setup still creates challenges. Outside of that, the drinks themselves were genuinely really good, the atmosphere was fun, and I'd probably still come back for another brunch date.

When we walked in there were about 4 hostesses standing behind the counter. When we asked if they would be able to seat us they looked us over. My daughter asked how long the wait was. The hostess paused and finally said about 30 minutes. We left because the vibe they were giving us was that they didn't want to seat us which I didn't understand. We were well dressed so I couldn't imagine it was our attire, but that was the vibe they were giving us. When we left, I told my kids it must be because we didn't have a reservation. I was trying to the hostesses the benefit of the doubt. My daughter got online and made a reservation for 30 minutes out, as we all decided we really wanted to try Stoney River. We walked back in 5 minutes before our reservation. Now there were about 5 hostesses behind the counter. I could tell from their faces that they recognized us and a couple of them were whispering again. I walked up to the counter and gave them our reservation information and they said ok. While we were eating we saw them walking by the kitchen looking at us again. This was not a look as if they were checking on us. Our server was nice and did a good job. The food and wine were fine but I have to say the experience with the hostesses really ruined the experience that I couldn't even focus on the food. Unfortunately, we won't be back. At first I wasn't sure what to expect as there are two establishments at one location. I was very pleasantly surprised walking into Malone's. The interior is darker and reminiscent of a New York steakhouse with the booths, decor and lighting. Unable to decide what to order, I opted for the filet and crab rangoon roll which was an excellent choice. The steak. cooked to perfection, was tender and juicy. The crab rangoon roll was a crab and cream cheese blend wrapped in seaweed and deep fried. It was out of this world. I've had some really good meals here and I've had some really bad meals here. As of the last year or so, the meals are more often bad than not. Especially once you factor in the price tag. I will say, our last several visits have been on a Sunday afternoon; not sure if that plays a factor in our experience or not. The some beach cocktail was awful and tasted like straight cheap coconut rum (I've had it before and it was quite good). The tempura vegetables chef feature appetizer was missing the sweet potatoes and pickled carrots advertised, the tempura breading didn't stick to the vegetables hardly at all, the broccoli pieces were so large they had to be cut up before they could be eaten, and the lotus root was way too thick. The server was oblivious about the chef's features. Made comment about it several times and was confused when I ordered some of the chef's features. If it's new, I get it, but would recommend he take a few minutes to familiarize himself. The seared spinalis I ordered cooked medium came out well done, end pieces were burnt to a crisp and tough. My wife ordered a well done New York strip that came out medium at best and the whipped potatoes were SWIMMING in butter. The potatoes may be as the Chef wanted them to be, I'm not sure, but if so, I don't know why anyone would want this. By the time you stir in all that extra butter you have very thin greasy potatoes bordering on potato soup. The server did offer to re-fire my steak and have my wife's cooked more to which we declined. I'm not a fan of doing that, especially cooking a stake more the second time because the outside becomes too done/burnt and the inside becomes dry. At this price point, she should have been offered a fresh steak in my opinion. The manager came by later and offered again, to which my Wife gave in and let her have it brought up to temp. To no one's surprise, it came back with the outside burnt to a crisp and the rest dry and tough (Even more so than well done already is. I recognize that well done steaks are tough/dry in general but she has been eating them here for years and brags about how they still manage to get it tender and juicy from her perspective). She also made mention that the herbed butter that comes with the bread wasn't very flavorful and nowhere near as good as normal and that we should have taken that as a sign. The server ended up comping my steak, which I appreciate. In all fairness, they made an effort to make it right. I feel like they could have done a bit more, especially with her steak but I'm not really upset about the service/response. It's just that the last several visits have been very sub par for the price point and from the quality I know Malones is capable of providing.
