This location is great and the staff are all A+! Bill was very helpful as the range officer when he saw I had a feeding issue with my rifle.

I enjoy going to this store/range very much. My first time there, they were very pleasant and helpful. They do offer discounts for veterans shooting on the range. Bill is the RSO I usually interact with, he is a marine veteran and a very knowledgeable guy. I always see him helping out novice shooters or giving advice. He is a very good RSO. Steve and Kenny are also great. Kenny helped me with a Mossberg 500 purchase and was very helpful and patient. They have 2 other employees I've worked with that were very pleasant. I just didnt get their names but its very safe to say the whole team here is great and not your typical gun store douchebags. The range is decent, its clean and has about 14 available lanes. It goes out to about 17 yards, typical for an indoor range. I would not use this range for larger calibers/long range weapons. read more

It feels more like an army base than a gun range, you have people constanlty giving you attitudes for questions or looking at you different specially the older gentleman & that very nasty girl with her attitude at the register, not beginner friendly at all I would not recommend to anyone starting out in the sport or interested in learning how to shoot, I was to told I suck and shouldn't shoot very encouraging words from the instructors, seems like unmotivated sad people that enjoy ruining others fun. never ever again at this location or any location associated with them, especially after the fact that I purchased the firearm from them & was assured I would be welcomed and taken care of the right way at their other location at Merrick. edit: If I could give 0 stars I would read more

This place is where to go for your rifle or pistol needs. These guys are smart friendly and professional. Great experience there. Previous owners where a horror. Attitude beyond belief. Went to South Shore Shooting Range to purchase a scope for my rifle. I asked the man to tell me about the features and benefits of the scopes ? All he said to me was how much do you want to spend ? After choosing one they installed it onto my rifle and I ask if they site it and he said we barrel site it to get you on paper. At the range it never even came close to hitting the paper and the Range Officer got it sited to within one inch of center ( about 10 mins) . Don't throw away your hard earned money on these guys , they are rude and do more talking to each other than helping customers. P.S., the scope was loose as well they never tighten it???? read more

Took my first shooting lesson. The staff is amazing. Very patient, nice, and they did a great job teaching me everything I needed to know to operate my firearm. The few times I needed help while I was shooting they came right in and assisted me. I'm so glad I bought my firearm from their location in East Meadow and got a lesson here. What an amazing range. State of the art vent system - above all else! I come all way from South Brooklyn, just to have an awesome, indoor range experience, at a well-vented Range, without coughing up a lung from asbestos and old ceiling paint chips that fall off with every shot vibration - at other indoor ranges. South Shore Range itself is fantastic- Ultra accommodation staff, and I was able to shoot my 7.62 and .308 rifles! So great!!! As for pricing comment I just read: Nobody cares to find out how much it costs to heat / (and now cool) that building. So you can comfortably shoot in February, without wearing your Northface Jacket, and your fingers would not freeze while shooting! All while running a State of the art vent system, to ensure you are breathing clean, properly circulated air. Oh, yes- that knowledgeable staff- has to feed their families, too. $30 is not cheap, but comparable to some of the better ranges I have been to. Great job, gents. read more

On Friday 3/8/19 I used the range as a customer for the first time. I've been there for training since the owner does the training for my company to maintain our armed security license, so I knew the facility was vastly improved from when the previous jerks who owned it. Since I knew Mike from training and having used the services of his Merrick store, my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. The high level of customer service in the Merrick Store has been transported to this range. From check in to point assignment, all staff were courteous and professional. It is important, in the Peoples Republic of Cuomo, that the shooting community is encouraged and treated with respect. This is especially true for new gun owners. Kudos to Mike and his staff. Great range. New, clean, well lit, with great ventilation. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Shop has a decent, but not huge selection of firearms. Nice selection of the most popular rentals for the range. A far cry from the dank, unfriendly, LI Shooting range it used to be. read more

This is how a range is suppose to run. Just a relaxed and amazing time at South Shore Range. They're extremely helpful, inviting, and they explain and clarify all your safety needs. Anthony, the owner invites you in like he knows you forever. His staff are friendly, helpful, hands on, and explains everything until you're confident and satisfied. They range itself is clean with a state of the art filtration system, which really helped out after I shot for over two hours and I didn't smell like gun powder afterward. They also have automatically forward and reverse target motors. The back stop is made of rubber so your shooting at rubber instead of sand like other locations. The staff does have routine safety checks and they do a great job helping you adjust into the accurate shooting stance and hold of your firearms. Rentals are also available and staff assist from the second you sign in untill you leave, the range. The range is a well supervised environment by all staff. I highly recommend this location for all your shooting and gun buying needs. As they also have a gun store on sight. I only can say that eventually this location will be so packed with daily shooters that I might have to wait on line to get my turn. Other than that I want to personally thank the owner and of all staff at South Shore Shooting Range for there hospitality, professionalism, helpfulness during my enjoyable experience and future visits! read more
