One day, my favorite window stopped opening smoothly. Google and ChatGPT said the window balances needed to be replaced. Windows are expensive and I'm not gutsy enough to DIY it. I sent out a few emails to local window companies - one didn't even get back to me, one gave me a very high quote, another said the whole window had to be replaced (?!), and then there's South Valley Windows. She gave me a reasonable quote, put in the order for the replacement parts and said it would take a couple weeks to arrive. The parts arrived much faster than that and Joe reached out to schedule a time for the replacement. Mike came over shortly after and replaced the springs in just a few minutes - it took me longer to move the couch out of the way for him than for him to actually do the job! I know this was a small job compared to what you typically do, but I really appreciate how professional and friendly everyone was and how easy the whole process was. We have a huge 4000 ft² home with a lot of windows upstairs and down. Our primary need was to replace the windows in our French doors and secondarily to repair and service all of our windows so they opened and closed easily. I knew from reading reviews that these guys are very busy and they lived up to the reputation. After a technician made his first visit it took several weeks before we got the estimate and I had to call to request it. Then they were booked out several weeks but they did show up as scheduled. They did an excellent job replacing the French door windows and they went through in the entire house and all of our windows now work and open easily. I think the price was fair. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and knew what I was seeking to repurpose obsolete but quite functional Milgard windows,

I found my window company needs in South Valley Windows. I purchased my house here in Morgan Hill back in March and needed to have 3 windows replaced. I had two window companies come by to give me quotes for the three windows. The funny part is that these suppose reputable companies recommended me to replace all my house windows. My thought was wow my house is only 18 years old why in the heck would I have to replace all the windows. We passed on replacing all windows. I thought it was ridiculous. I just need 3 windows replaced. My wife found South Valley Windows on an ad. We decided to get another quote for just 3 windows. Paul showed up and inspected the windows I wanted replaced. Paul said there's nothing work with your windows everything opens and shuts fine. The only thing I needed to replace was the panes due to failed seals. All 3 windows had a dos look to them. The panes were ordered and two weeks later I had like new windows. I was taken back by the other two companies mentioned earlier. They both wanted to get over on me. How dishonest of them. I prefer not to mention their names in public. The quotes given were between 14k-16k. The replacement of the three window panes including a sliding door pane were around $1500. What a difference, South Valley Windows have integrity and have earned my loyalty. read more

This will be a bit of a weird review, because these are weird times. One of the glass panels in our patio door shattered (bird strike; the bird walked away...), fortunately, within the warranty period. Unfortunately, upon contacting the manufacturer, they indicated that they were so backed up that they were not even looking at warranty claims for 3 months. Delightful....gave Joe Doyle at South Valley a call, and he said he thought he might be able to do better than that. Thus began sort of a long road, because the manufacturer was still in play, but at least I didn't have to deal with them. Bottom line, while it took a while, they got it done, and, as of this writing, getting it done takes some determination. read more

We just ordered 5 windows and a large sliding window from South Valley Windows, Paul ( one of the owners) came out did all the measurements, we decided to do a retrofit window, much easier than having to replace the stuco on the outside. I got the estimate few months ago from joe, he was very professional and friendly very reasonable price. He didn't do any pushing to get the job and very honest. It felt right from the beginning. I called few times to ask some questions and every time he was very helpful. I changed all my Old windows . I changed my my mind last minutes to different kinds for 2 of them , again joe was very helpful, even the new order was little bit more pricey he kept the original contact $. I had to beg to get a quote. I sent pictures and a detailed description of what was needed. Two weeks later Joe came out and confirmed the measurements. I emailed him that same day and approved the quote. He said it would take at least 4 weeks. Well, 6 weeks later I sent an email to get a status and I got no reply at all. I am done with this company. I've used South Valley Windows on two different houses, both with Milgard vinyl windows. One time it was with replacement windows and the next with new construction windows in a 40 year old condo. Both installation went perfectly. They were able to replace some of the framing in the first house (it was falling apart), and in the condo they installed new trim perfectly with the original resawn. The installations went very quickly and on time. No damage to anything. They got Milgard to replace the patio slider screen door (SVW had received a damaged one from the factory) within days. On both houses they installed indoor window trim at my request for a modest charge (we really don't like drywall boxes). In a total of 20 years there has been no problem with the installation. No leaks, no rot, nothing. We have had to call Milgard once to replace a panel of glass. This is a big advantage with Milgard: they cover all their installations. read more
