Tried a couple of sweets - a slice of the peach pie and the walnut brownie. Both were okay - not too sweet. The brownie was a bit dry and the peach pie was too sour and the crumble was extremely plain. Ordering here was tough. There was no line, nothing was labled or priced in the display case, and a different person would say they can help the next customer but there was no line. Random people would just say they were next and "cut." I probably would not return even though the location by the water was nice. read more

Very much enjoyed this bakery on the way into Northport Village. Great parking across the street and some outside dining on both sides of the restaurant. I ordered a premade chicken salad stuffed into Granny Smith apples and it was fresh and delicious. Also had a fresh baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that was fabulous. We tried to get breakfast on 8/25/26 about 10:15 am. There was a long line, with 1 paper menu being passed around. It was like a crowded cafeteria. No employee to help you. You have to endure the long line to get your order in , pay, then take a thing with a # on it into the room where tables are, & try to find an empty table. This is a totally moronic & inconsiderate system. How they stay on business ( & are even crowded) is beyond me. read more

While we were in the downtown Northport area, we came across the bakery and decided to see what it was all about. It looked cute and saw there was a bunch of people inside. They had a bunch of different types of pastries as well as sandwiches, soups, and comfort foods. We were in line waiting on our order to be completed by a staff member and there was a customer behind us that rudely cut in to get his order from another staff member. The customer did not care and I confronted him about it since we were in line first. When the one that was helping us came back, she was very surprised that there was another staff member was at the register instead of her. It was busy and I get that it's a popular place in the area for customers to come in for a coffee and a bite to eat. I find that it was hectic behind the counter with the staff members and how customers were being handled that were waiting in line since it wasn't organized. It has a nice view of the water if you want to sit outside across the street from the bakery instead of inside the bakery itself. read more

Copenhagen Bakery is awful in every way possible. First, nothing is labeled in the cases. So, the long line goes slower than it needs to because every single customer has to ask a bunch of questions when it's their turn, instead of simply ordering. Imagine hearing "What's that? What's that?" with people pointing over and over while you're waiting in a long line. Jeez, get some signs. Second, everything we ordered sucked. The big cinnamon puff pastry had almost no cinnamon. Bland. The apple cake was so f**king dry that it was nearly inedible (we ordered a loaf, picked at a slice and tossed the rest of the loaf). The blueberry turnover was just plain bad. The dough is super thick and there is almost no blueberry filling, so it was gross and dry. Third, we ordered and paid for an additional pastry that didn't end up in our bag. It probably sucked, so no loss. I'm just sorry I paid for it. This bakery is awful. read more

Wanted to like this place but it wasn't a hit had some time to kill so i stopped by with a few friends. Coffee and seating was self served, line forms constantly, seems good enough for a family environment. I heard the breads and soups were good but but we didn't want to sit too long so we got bread on the go and some coffee and cookies to eat on the spot. Coffee was fine, nothing special. Cookies were not the best, we have butter cookies and rainbow and I felt like it tasted too dry for my likings. I was excited for the bread loaves that I brought home, they ran out of whit bread so I snatched home a loaf of sourdough and cranberry walnut. I was so disappointed, both were pretty dry and flavorless. I would go back again for soups if I'm around the area but the breads and cookies were a no go for me. This place is lucky that they have a good location as far as lots of seating across from the water in a busy town. They're lucky because they don't have much else going for them. In particular, downside is rather flavorless pastries along with rude customer service. This is the second time and will be the last time that I stop in . I thought the first time might be an exception to the rule but it seems to be the rule. First of all chocolate chip oatmeal cookie would be hard to identify because as I said didn't have much flavor. Second it was about 4 PM so maybe they don't change the coffee but it was lukewarm at best and pretty bitter. And to make it worse when I told the young lady at the counter that the coffee was either not hot or the milk from the refrigerator was too cold she looked at me like I was speaking a different language yet we were both speaking English. I asked her for a larger cup so that I could put in a reasonable amount of milk and that would allow me to put in more coffee to at least make it a reasonable temperature to drink. She acted like this was a major inconvenience in her day. In any case adios Copenhagen bakery. My family that lives nearby loves their bread and it really was very good. As for the cafe, I was fairly underwhelmed. I came on one morning and got a ham and cheese croissant and a cappuchino. I didn't notice until I ordered that the cappuchino was going to be made by pressing a button on a machine and it was pretty watery and mediocre. I had less than half of it and threw it out and walked around the corner to get another espresso drink. The croissant was good, but I had high hopes and I wouldn't exactly rush to come back. The bakery is probably good as a bakery, but they really should improve their coffee selection. read more

We had super high hopes for this bakery, a local-feeling place in the heart of the town that seems super well-frequented. In the end, it's a very standard and fine bakery. The service we found to be the most difficult aspect. There seemed to be 100 people working behind the counter but there are multiple registers and the line is somewhat of a suggestion? Once you are helped, they're super pleasant. Tons of options but nothing honestly felt super appealing. We landed on two pastries and both of them in the end were fine. Ordered an iced Americano because it was an option on the menu only to realize they don't actually make those, so received a hot Americano with a cup of ice. This is unfortunately not the same. If you do get pastries here, would recommend hopping across the street to sit by the water and watching the boats rather than sitting at the bakery itself to eat. The view is quite nice! read more

Copenhagen bakery is a great spot to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and either sit outside and people watch or grab a table in the back. I love that they have flavored coffee as one of their options. You have to get here at the right time because sometimes the line is out the door, which is a good sign that the place is delicious! Unfortunately I have come here twice in the late afternoon for a cup of coffee and the brew has been cold. Greasy, not buttery-tasting frosting; the cake portion, however, ranged from dry to excellent. I have ONE complaint: The women at the counter always call customers from the register and don't move. So what always happens is we walk up to the register then we have to walk back to the pastries to show them what we want. I called two times to make sure that they were baking a Napoleon cake last Wednesday the first call which I called on Tuesday they told me that they don't think they'll be baking any and they only have two left so I should come right now being that I was almost 2 hours away each trip. It was impossible for me to get there before closing. I called again and spoke to a second person they told me that they would be making cakes Wednesday morning for Thanksgiving, but I would have to be there first thing at 6 AM because they would be sold out by nine am. So I showed up at 6 AM Wednesday morning to be given the two leftover cakes from Tuesday telling me I'd have to wait 2 1/2 hours if I wanted the fresh cakes, as they did not have any and had to make them . the fact that they refused to hold cakes under my name, even prepaid is ridiculous. There's no customer service at this place. I will never buy from them again and their coffee sucked. read more

Nice, cozy spot to meet up with an old High School (!!) friend I hadn't seen in AGES!! We met here for lunch at 12:45 on a Friday, and were LUCKY to miss the "early lunch" crowd, and beat the "later lunch" line, which got pretty long... Even got a FINE window seat!! I lived in this area forever, and passed by this place 1,001 times before meeting up here a week ago. TONS of choices, but we both went with the lunch specials, which include different quiches and a soup or salad. My spinach mushroom quiche was great, my Asian salad pretty good as well, though I did secretly covet my friend's butternut squash soup!! We happily "yacked" away for a while, luckily not feeling rushed and/or like we were taking seats from others. Nice spot to grab some coffee/pastries/bread to go or stay and **pretend** to be a "lady who lunches." After hearing so much about Copenhagen I finally had a moment to stop by & grab something sweet. I didn't realize they serve breakfast & soups as well. They also have a tables. When I got to the counter I noticed a giant pastry. I'm not sure what exactly what they call it but it is delicious. It taste like a danish, rugelach & Baklava all in one with chocolate DRIZZLE. The village of Northport has a wonderful Danish bakery, and it continues to grow. I do wish Fleming would open a annex in East Northport. Stacy and Fleming got it right when they opened this gem more than 25 years ago. They discovered the building, and started a 5 star bakery. There is more outdoor seating, on either side of the building, and a indoor room when the weather is grim. Have you added the app on your phone? The other day, the points from previous purchases gave me 10 bucks off. The staff is very pleasant, even when the line is out the door. Plenty of specials during the week. Visiting family and decided to go to a family favorite, Copenhagen. Parking was pretty easy, right in front with parking meter close by as well. There was a line but moved very quickly, we arrived 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, prepackaged and delicious soups. We chose the chicken corn chowder and a Leek soup which comes with your choice of fresh baked roll and a cookie! We ordered some me bread and additional cookies. Sadly no receipt of our transaction was given. Soup was good, I personally am not a fan of peppers and their recipe has both red and green peppers. Texture was perfect and the roll was amazing! I moved to Northport several years ago and very much wanted to love this place. I've given it many tries and have finally decided it cannot be saved. It's literally SUCKS. The cakes are dry and tasteless. The scones are chewy like a bagel. If I wanted a bagel I would've gotten one!! Elsewhere of course! Do NOT! I repeat DO NOT even attempt to try one of the prepared food items. Overpriced and tasteless. This bakery is THE Spot!!!! After spending a long weekend in Northport we decided to hit up a brunch spot. After teaching a unit on Denmark, I was super thrilled to see Copenhagen Bakery and immediately took a pic of the signs to show my kiddos. We arrived on a Sunday and the place was packed!! The line was very long but moved quickly and smoothly. I liked the system of ordering at the counter and then being given a number and the food comes to your table. This definitely makes the service move quicker, ideal for a busy spot like this one. We were seated indoor and our food arrived fairly quickly. We got the chocolate chip pancakes, we didn't like that they just threw the chocolate chips on top. However, the pancakes were pretty good. They were definitely on the smaller side when it comes to portion. We also got a smoothie which was just ok, minus one star, for the price of the smoothie I expected something a little more natural, it tasted like it had too much bottled juice in it. The veggie omelette was perfect, the portion was perfect and the veggies were fresh. The potatoes will fool you, they look bland but are so flavorful. We would definitely come back here when in Northport, after all they do say Denmark is one of the happiest places to live, perhaps is the food! :-) read more
