Avoid at all cost......the lack of care towards their quality and the BS they come up with to cover their mistakes....... Why have Sam, a "zero hands on experience" guy, as your receptionist? He calls Belltech, Goodridge, and OEM stuff "cheap ebay parts".....lol. The multiple charges for 1 job (removal of anti-sway bar $150, removal of anti-sway links $150, and removal of anti-sway bushings $150) flat out targeting those who does not know and are trusting them to be honest.....not happening here. Lazy mechanic.... 1. over tightened my anti-sway links and busted the new bushings..... 2. was too lazy to follow Belltech's installation manual to use the supplied washers for the rear bushing bracket bolts, I had to get new ones and put them on myself...... 3. Look at the angle of the brake lines to my front calipers!!! And what does the owner say? "The OEM rubber lines are better than these steel braided lines." Really? Wow...... This is how they thank an Army Vet that is doing chemo therapy for cancer. Avoid at all costs. read more

Great service from the first appointment setting over the phone .. all the way to check out after service was completed. Paid exactly what was quoted and Sam was a very honest and reliable mechanic. Very pleased with my service and how quickly he got me in even with a full schedule for them .. plus a courtesy card for a free chick FIL sammich . I will definitely consider them for future needs . Came in to get my wheel bearings replaced and my transmission serviced. They were able to do the replacements and service the next day and even offered a ride to and from the shop while they were fixing my car. While they were working on it they called to let me know that the wheel bearing had seized into the wheel when they went to replace the left side which was an extra hour and a half of labor. But they said they wouldn't charge me any extra for it. They also said since it took a little longer they wouldn't be able to finish by the end of the day and offered me a loaner car for the night. The next day I got a ride back to the shop and my final total was about $50 LESS than what i was quoted. They also did a free courtesy inspection and told me what else i might need to get replaced next. Awesome customer service! Would recommend. read more

Southend Auto Care was able to squeeze our truck in within a week and fixed the issue we had in a few hours. Customer service was amazing and the cost was half of what our usual mechanic would've charged us. They even gave my husband a ride home while they worked on the truck. We thought it was a bad spark plug that was causing our truck to misfire but it happened to be a bad coil. Our check engine light is gone now and the truck is running fine. A happy ending to a very scary story. My VW was not running well with the check engine light which would go off for a week or more and then come back on. It went to the auto parts store to get diagnosed and then to the dealership with whom I purchased the car from. Not good news there was a TSB bulletin on that problem. Ugh really. What happened to my dependable car. Well after a fail from another dealership I went searching. My warranty would only pay a ASE certified mechanic and I was already in a crunch. I found it Federal Way Auto. Called and spoke with a nice person who put my mind at rest and assured me that they could help me. Dropping her off was good and bad as I was completely devastated. How do you do things without a car. I met tracy. I told her how pissed I was about the car she took a copy of my warranty I signed the paper and that was that. I didn't bother the shop knowing that I will hear from them soon. Ok so here is the issue and the cost your portion and warranty portion. Smile smile - we communicated several time through out the repair of the Intake manifold, position sensor, steering sensor and water pump. This is on. VW Tiguan I mean wow. Under 3K which is excellent car was with them for 4 days and when I got her back I opened her up to see if she still had it in her. I needed a brake job on my Jeep Wrangler. Was making some noise, not sure what. Made an appointment on line. Was easy. Was surprised when I got a phone call from Mark, the owner, before my appointment. He was calling to talk about my brakes. Really cool. I felt that level of attention throughout the whole process. Dropped off my Jeep. They figured out what I needed and called me. Then did the work. There were some things that DIDN'T need to be done. Never had that before. Where do I start. I brought my Truck in twice, Explained, The problem, they did a service check. That I didn't ask for. But tells me nothing is wrong with the truck it's supposed to shake and make noise and won't pull a hill without shaking and that's normal. Said all I need was wiper blades. I had just Bought brand new one a week earlier. Charge me a bunch of money and tells me it's ready. Took it to another shop in Tacoma. 2 hours later, they call me and said the Differential oil is so low it's Causing it to shake when pulling a hill up or down. They serviced it and the truck has never ran so smooth. Sam in the Office is Rude and Disrespectful, the owner runs an unprofessional business. And the Employees are probably not certified. I would not recommend this company to anyone. All I wanted was my $180 dollars back for the Inspection fee because I didn't think they even did it. New wiper's. What a joke. They can expect Me and My Family and friends to be yelping them and Googling there little company often and regularly . Unless I get the Money they Stole from me. Beware!!!! read more

I can't stress enough , do not take your car in to this shop. My tranny broke in my 91 dually. They charged me 175 to tell me the tranny was bad. Well duh. then 1000 to swap out the old and new tranny. like a few hours work. Then it's still doesn't work right and is basically undrivable. Another 782 bucks to check the tranny out. So they ended up fixing nothing. I'll never go back or recommend them for anything. read more

Greetings - So there was a noise coming from the rear sometimes when I would turn. That's what I told Sam at the front desk, They checked it out. Afterwards, Sam and the Mechanic told me it was coming from the front wheel. I was really suprised bcuz I swore it was coming from the rear. But I trusted them. I held off on getting it fixed right away, and went on may merry way $120 later for the diag. A week or 2 later, when I heard the noise again - My buddy confirmed it was in fact coming from the rear, bcuz he was standing outside the vehicle while I was slowly driving by him, while turning. So I shot them a call and left a message bcuz they were closed. Meantime I ran up to les schwab for a free diag, and they found the problem right away - loose rear track bar. Next day I called the shop and told Sam the scoop. Without going into too much detail, He kept deflecting to other things, rather than entertaining the idea that maybe they actually missed something. He also had some choice words for les schwab, attempting to discredit them. Sam expressed zero empathy towards my concern about the situation. Not to mention, he would make comments suggesting he didn't trust what I was telling him. We went back and fourth in circles. So we dedided I would come in the next day to sort it out. When I got there, Sam and I got into another back and fourth just like on the phone - going in circles. Finally they threw it on the lift, and within maybe 2 minutes. the mechanic realized one of the bolts was really loose holding on the rear track bar, So he tightened it right there. Walla! what do you know, Noise was gone. I didn't even attempt to try and work out any sort of deal for reimbursement, bcuz Sam had already suggested to me on the phone, and in person, that there would be no chance of that whatsoever. In the end - They failed to find the problem I payed them to for, and they were happy to keep the money. I'm just happy I didnt let them work on it bcuz I would have drove away with the same problem 500 dollars later. Thanks for reading read more

Do not trust this company. They gave me an estimate for repair that began at $800 and rose to$4500. I paid the $800, which included 7 quarts of transmission fluid and the determination that the transmission was good to good. I drove it for a day and the transmission quit. I had the vehicle towed back to their shop. They determined the transmission needed a new (used) torque converter. It is obvious they did not looked for this problem during the initial repair. Once I learned of the inclining repair cost, I chose to have the vehicle towed to my house where I would have time to find an alternative solution. The vehicle is a handicap van I used to take a relative to medical appointments. Two days ago, the relative was diagnosed with terminal cancer with weeks to live. This fact changed the need to spend any money on the vehicle. I asked AAA to tow the car away from the shop. They refused, city a policy that if the shop "could repair it" they would not tow the vehicle. This illegal partnership between AAA and the shop makes victims of all patrons. I hired a private tow company. The ship told me I had to pay them $180 for a 'diagnosis' in order for them to release the vehicle. This is a shoddy business method, un-Christian and unfair. I have reported this practice to the BBB and will follow-up with a complaint to the Washington State Attorney General. When my car started overheating I was nervous to take it to a new shop in a completely different state. South end auto care helped ease my worries. Since moving to Tacoma, my partner and I needed a new auto shop and went to Southend Auto Care a couple weeks ago for routine maintenance on our 2017 Chevy Volt (it's a plug-in hybrid) because they already have great reviews on Yelp. I sent a request via their website and they scheduled my quickly for the next week. I checked in on time and the service was great. I had no idea if the car even needed any maintenance and they were honest and fast. Trevor was the technician who is apparently extremely knowledgeable with hybrid cars so I'm glad we found this shop. They worked quickly and provided a printout of diagnostics to show if anything would be needed in the near future. I came in with 2 broken lights a tail light and a headlight, and a wiper assembly that was put on upside down. I was charged 361$ for just fixing the wipers and one of the lights.
