This "airline" is a joke. They canceled my wife's return flight from Phoenix to Show Low after making her wait 2 hours. Help finding a room for the night (not to mention any sort of voucher)? Not a chance. Wouldn't even tell her where at the airport she might find a cab. Their customer DISservice person at the counter in Phoenix just shrugged at her and walked away, clearly implying "Sucks to be you." To add insult to injury, they have, in violation of federal law, refused to issue her a refund for the canceled flight, so they're not just totally useless and unbelievably rude, but crooks, too. My advice is to avoid these clowns and just drive to the nearest city where you can fly on a real airline, even if it's a couple of hours away. Hopefully this bunch will go bankrupt soon. read more

This week my family was stranded in Hot Springs because Southern Air did not have the staff to fly out on Sunday (not a weather event). The next flight that could accommodate for a return to Dallas was on Tuesday (2 days later). No Rental Car for 1 way travel to Dallas was $1250. During boarding process they added another stop in Burlington Iowa which caused me to miss my connecting flight. Poor decision making

So..I booked a flight through Expedia. It stated DFW Dallas Forth Worth. I called to get my flight gate and was told there is no gate number. Find out its a total of 9 sits. I take medicine to fly on a normal plane. This was a helicopter not a plane. No one help with putting sit belts you were pretty much on your own even had to help someone.I cried waiting on the plane in Dallas. But I was prescribed medicine. So we make it to Memphis thanks GOD. On the way home my flight was delayed 5 hours and was told in Hot springs. I literally had a panic attack. I didn't want to fly on a helicopter at night. Tried to rent a car to Dallas but the car would have to come back. Two hours later 3 police offices come in and proceed to tell me and my daughter to leave in the middle of no where in Hot Springs all the while my daughter is dealing with the death of her father which was the reason for the trip. Felt like I was begging for life. I can't help I have serve anxiety. Scared how one of the officers came. To put a child out in the middle of nowhere due to someone have real real bad anxiety by flying. All that to say don't do it. People have no morals to put people out in the middle of nowhere due to having anxiety for flying. This was the most stressful unprofessional scariest flight I ever had to ride on due to 3rd party booking. I am soo confused this type of flight is legal. You have no ideal what you get. I will be blogging sites so no one else will get treated this way. Or make the mistake I made even after reading the reviews.I have pitures of the helicopter. This will be on ever Social media platform. And even going to see about getting an attorney due to my medical condition and now I am in the middle of nowhere. The planes don't look nothing like this. Dreadful, terrible, horrible. Do not book with them. 12 hours of delays in one roundtrip. We literally could have booked another airline for less when you add in the $65 uber we had to pay for to get the college kid back to the dorm safely rather than have her wandering the streets of downtown Pittsburgh in the middle of the night b/c they got her to Pittsburgh Airport too late to take public transit back to campus. And not so much as a cup of coffee for the inconvenience, delays, additional expenses. Dreadful all 'round. read more

Had an 8:00AM Flight. Told 10 hours before the flight that it was delayed until 11AM. Never would have read the email if we were not up late. That made it so we could not get to the rental car company before they closed, leaving us stranded, but too late to change the flight. 20 minutes AFTER new flight time, they said it was delayed another 45 minutes. Which makes it a total of almost 4 hours of delays, making us miss the appointment that we had flown to get to in the first place. Customer service offered ZERO help with delay questions and would not help with trying to get us a car which THEY MADE US TOO LATE FOR. They ruined the whole reason why we needed the flight in the first place. What is the point of this airline??? read more

My friend's flight was cancelled on Saturday, August 5 at 10:55 AM, after they arrived promptly for take off .....the airline sent a van preparing them for a 3 hour drive...other passengers noted that this was a repeat offense happening 2 weeks prior.....my friends missed their connecting flight out of Sky Harbor and finally arrived to their final destination at 3:30 AM....WOULD NOT ISSUE A FULL REFUND...because of their screw up, they absorbed additional fees due to late booking out of Sky Harbor...really, talk about an attitde....BEWARE OF THIS AIRLINE! ABSOLUTELY the worst experience you could possibly have with an airline. I am flying for a work trip. I got to the airport at 6:30am..not only did the counter not open until almost an hour later. But my plane was delayed TWICE! one for fog that didn't exist. I know cuz I'm lookin out the damn window, and the second time because they couldn't get fuel? My flight was at 8:15... it is now leaving at "10:45" but it's 10:11 and we haven't moved from the waiting area. I called customer service to see if they could find me another flight etc they lady said she couldn't help me. (Which is against the new law stating they must refund us after 3 hours) this airline is HIGHLY unprofessional, unorganized and needs to be put out of business, this is insane. DO NOT FLY with this group. You will lose money, time, and patience. I will write this review on every platform I can find. I had two flights canceled in less than 2 weeks. The only compensation was a refund for my flights. I had to scramble at the last minute to change my connection flights just so I could arrive at destination on time. The cost of these changes was extreme as last minute flights are. Do not take a chance. They cancel the flights at the very last minute! read more

Worst airline ever! I was flying to Phoenix for a funeral, my flight was delayed an hour for electrical issues, we had to get off the plane and wait in the tiny Show Low airport. The next day my flight was supposed to leave Phoenix at 2:20pm. On the way to the airport I got a text it was delayed until 4:30pm. After sitting in the airport for hours, it was then delayed to 6:30pm. It was finally cancelled. They ended up hiring a limo service to drive us the 3 hours back to Show Low. They were rude and uniformed. They also have no ability to put TSA PRE check on your ticket. They have no online check in or the ability to change flights on their website, they charge a $25 change fee, even with an upgraded fare. Avoid this airline at all cost. I was not impressed at all with Southern Airways. We had a short flight from Honolulu to Maui. We arrived from the mainland to Honolulu with about a two hour layover. We asked at the ticketing gate if our baggage had made it onto the plane and we were assured it did. Our flight departed probably 30 minutes early so there was plenty of time for the baggage to make it on the flight. We arrived in Maui and were told our bags did not make it on the flight and they blamed Alaska airlines for not getting the bags to them in time. We were told they would be on the first plane in the morning and I gave my number to the woman at the ticketing station. We waited all day and heard nothing, emailed customer service, called customer service, and drove by the airport twice (no one was there.) Finally after begging someone on customer service who was about to blow me off again and just "take my phone number again" she finally confirmed that the bags would be on the last flight of the day and we needed to come pick them up ourselves. I feel like anyone who has been on a trip with their bags missing understands how inconvenient it is to not have any of your belongings and need to purchase duplicates of things you already have, especially in an expensive location like Hawaii. You are usually traveling in warm clothes from the mainland. There was no offer to reimburse us for what we did have to purchase, which according to the department of transportation, they are legally obligated to provide. We did have to purchase some clothes as we arrived to Hawaii in sweaters and jeans from the mainland. I asked to submit my receipt to them and they said they flat out won't reimburse for delayed baggage. This seems illegal as it is guaranteed under the department of transportation. Additionally, any time I have had an airline lose my baggage, they have brought it to the hotel for us. I used to love this airline but no longer. On January 5th, 2023 I had to fly southern airways express one way from Pittsburgh to Bradford, PA. Unfortunately I had a boot on from a foot injury. I arrive at ticket counter by myself for my AM flight. I needed wheelchair service. I was exhausted from night before's flight from AZ. It began with ticket agent being rude & only went downhill. After I started CRYING because of her refusal to even tell me if she could get me a wheelchair with the lengthy wait that was all my fault. She then calls her manager who shows up & she starts on me while I'm still crying. The wheelchair service gentleman was so kind to me. When I arrive at gate that same manager is there so she can be as condescending as possible. An example being when she asked if I needed her to wheel me to the plane she eye rolled "Do you REALLY?" After I got on plane the pilot & copilot were blessedly so kind. I'm posting this because I emailed Southern Airways Express 2 weeks later & as yet haven't received a response 7 weeks after I sent email. My friend flew a few weeks later & he had the same ticket counter person with shitty experience with added bonus of a 24 HOUR delay from Pittsburgh airport where he gave up & rented a car So now I have to either drive or take another airport. read more
