Requested the fee be paid in CASH now he has been out of the office and giving the run around and trying not to reimburse. Purchased a headlight. It looked great but when we put it in and attempted to adjust the light we found the adjuster was faulty. Called southern auto salvage to see if we could swap it out or get a refund and they refused. Because the headlight looked to be in good shape they won't accept the return. Tried to get the manager/owner to call us and discuss and he wouldn't return any calls. There are plenty of other yards that would have accepted the return. It was a faulty part. They told me they had my part I drove an hour to pick up the part. I geeeetttt there to be told they misquoted me on the wrong part and instead of it being $50 it's $100. The lady in the front told me "Well since you drive an hour away I'll meet you in the middle....$75." Now I might not be the brightest bulb in the pack but $75 is not ther middle of $100. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!! I purchased a motor and had them install it. They kept my vehicle for over 2 1/2 months. This guy name Jay to whom I've found out was the owner kept making up excuse after excuse as to why my vehicle wasn't fixed. I called several times and spoke with Jay. He was very rude on the phone and hung up in my face. I finally got my truck from Jay only to find that my gas cap was missing. My battery was stolen and that my truck was running bad and how it was not starting at times. I called Jay back several times and he never returned my calls. I finally got back with him almost a month later and he stated to bring my vehicle back. How ever my starter went out so i had to have it towed to a reputable shop to fix my starter. The shop found a lot of problems with my motor. They stated that my starter was good but the people who installed your motor ( Jay the owner) stripped my bottom screw and the top screw was missing that's why my truck wouldn't start. They rigged it so that it would only work to drive away from Southern Auto Salvage. They also discovered that my Exciter wire was rigged with cheap tape. It was noted on my receipt that who ever installed my motor done a very crappie job. I spoke with Jay about it and he kept putting it off to speak with me. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT JAY IS A CON ARTIST! To keep the story short, we advise that you DO NOT DO business with Southern Auto Salvage. They refused to accept a return for a damaged engine they sold to us, so we had to drop it off with their knowledge but without their approval, and took a video of it as proof. The employee even said to my husband that we would report that an unidentified object had been dropped of at their property. Don't take my word for it you prefer; just go to the public records and look up this business name at the Clayton County Superior Court, civil division, to see for yourself. Don't do business with this facility, purchased a engine for my sons vehicle, promised me that the car will be ready in 5 business days it wasn't. I called 4 days later it still wasn't ready, several days, a young middle eastern guy, who I guess is the owner said I owe storage fees , no where on the sales contract was that stipulated, my wife advised me to just call the police, I could tell he had weapon , I did too . I wish I could give them minus 10 stars Chris sold me motor with the head gasket blown.The motor was installed by ASE certified mechanics, it had to be in order for the 30 day warranty to be valid. Well his labor was not free to install it and would not have been free for him to remove it after discovering it was no good. However jay, would not cover the labor nor would he perform the labor in-house. Leaving me to eat $600 in labor cost and two blown motors, oh they did offer to remove the no good motor he sold me and put another one provided by him.....for $400 more dollars in labor cost. I found it easier to just take a refund for the motor and sell them the car. Still down $600 I was told by chris that on Sat he would not be there but whoever was would take care of my refund and payment for the car. So Sat I had the car towed, had to get there by 2pm closing time only to have wendy call me a liar. Bought a 2003 vw auto transmission with 88,000 miles on it (so they say) and was told it was a great unit and it runs, they also let me look at it and told me they test the transmission by actually driving the car before they remove the transmission. Bought the transmission, get it home and install it and thats when the problems start happening. first it was a very hard shift when you go from P to R but everything else was fine, then took it for a test drive up my driveway and to my stop sign (which happens to be maybe 500ft away? enough to test and see if the trans slips) and lo and behold the transmission is slipping! Car goes in and out of gear.. so i have it towed up to a VW dealership and had them look at it..maybe a good flush is in order or the fluid is low (lol if only life was that simple, right?) and they told me the transmission is trashed, oil is black and a fluid change will do nothing, of course read over the warranty and basically if it isnt installed by an ASE certified mechanic (AKA the Stealership) your warranty is void and of course they dont cover labor..what a joke. SO basically folks if you want your $350 for your broken trans you have to pay $800-1200 for install (dealership only btw) and $800-1200 for removal then you can get your petty $350 back..what a bunch of BS!! any reviews you see about this company thats positive is most likely an employee or fake account. ill also be taking this to the BBB, yelp and anywhere else i can put this review in hopes of saving other people the time, headache and stress of going through one of these bogus scrap yards. ill also upload my receipt from them as well to add some legitimacy to this claim. My advice go with S&W auto salvage, called and i think his name is nick, but he was very professional and although he was a little more expensive i would much rather have gone with him, he explained everything out confidently and knew exactly what he was talking about, he also explained how they test the transmission and their other parts and he sounds like and honest guy, not to mention they have about 120 more reviews than these people and almost 4 stars read more

Unfortunately you can only leave a rating when you select a star...honestly they deserve -3 due to the horrible customer service. First of all there was a male there who apparently had the flu and was extremely irritable. While the 'waiting area' (I use this term loosely as the chairs just sit literally less than 12 inches away from the counter) was full, the male screamed into the phone and began acting irate. Then there was the extremely unprofessional white female with the overly bleached hair who was also rude. I had been in contact with this location for 2 days asking for a part they confirmed they had. After I arrived to purchase the part I waited for over 30+ minutes only to be told they will have to pull it out of a vehicle which could take up to two hours. (Which doesn't make any sense seeing as the part (electronic throttle body) can be removed in less than 30 minutes). Because I needed the part I was willing to wait until the rude bleached hair lady said I would need to pay up front and wait 2 hrs for the part to 'possibly' be available for pickup. Horrible experience, horrible customer service. I found the part for $10 cheaper around the corner at Shakti...I would suggest you contact this business if you expect a friendly interaction while spending your hard earned money. read more

EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED! FALSE ADVERTISING! UNETHICAL! I have been building cars for years and have plenty of experience with junk yards. I have had many good experiences with junk yards through out the southeast. I have NEVER had one jerk me around as much as these guys have. I purchased several parts including an engine for a Japanese import. Upon inspection of the engine I found it to be faulty. I had the damage confirmed by several mechanics and then presented the case to the establishment. I understand that one would not refund money for an assumed junk yard core engine if it turned out to be unusable; however, when an engine is advertised, PRICED and sold as a good running pull-out that is exactly what it should be. Everyone I have dealt with at this company has played dumb, acted as if my correspondence was not received, though the email was verified, and claimed they had no authority while refusing to direct me to a superior with authority.
