    Peach Bellini

I looked up on Google where to eat brunch outside of the city and this place came up. I made a reservation and headed to the location. If you're coming from Philly and you're coming up Hector Street I suggest turning onto Ash Street and parking along there. The walk to the restaurant is short. There is a 2 hour parking limit closer to the restaurant. Atmosphere. Nice and lively. There were groups, so it was loud. You can sit at the bar upstairs or downstairs. They have a small patio and outdoor seating. Service: Sydney was awesome! She knew the menu and gave me suggestions as well as the special of the day. Danielle and her trainee were very engaging. Drink: I had the peach bellini and it was good. It had peach pieces! They also offer a mimosa tower for three or more people for $70. Food: I ordered different dishes. Their menu reeled me in. I ordered the following: Fried pickles because I love pickles but I wasn't a fan. It came with a red and white sauce which was good. I think it was the type of pickles used that I didn't like. Fried green tomato tower which was pimento cheese, zesty aioli, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic reduction. I didn't like this selection either. The tomatoes were not ripe. They were too hard. The sauce was good. I like saucey but this was too saucey for me. Fried Shrimp & grits: fried shrimp, cheddar grits, smoked gouda cream, sunny side up egg. This was good. Creamy and just the right size lumps. Great flavor. If I ordered this again, i would prefer grilled shrimp. It reheated well at home. I ordered a shrimp and grits flatbread to go for someone. It looked very interesting and messy, but I was told that it was very delicious even after reheating. They have weekly specials. On Wednesdays they have a dinner for 2 special for $45. That's awesome! they have a murder mystery dinner! I can't wait to check it out! Overall even though I only liked 1 out of 3 dishes, I would definitely go back to try some other items. I'm looking forward to it.

My 6th time coming to SCK and doenst disappoint!! We ordered the flatbread with shrimp & grits and gurrrrllllll it was insane!!!! We had this strawberry martini that I cannot describe the freshness of the strawberries and the perfect blend!!! Just incredible- the appetizers were fried pickles- INCREDIBLE and the Cajun perogies. Holy smokes!!! What a meal!!!

The food was basic and very underwhelming. As someone who doesn't love to cook, I cook have easily made all the dishes we had and they'd taste exactly like what we got. Just nothing special. We started with the 1/2 Pound Peel and Eat Shrimp. They were overcooked and kind of mealy. The tartar sauce that came with it was no good! Actually pretty bad. It tasted like a side of mayo. For entrees we ordered the Chicken 'N Waffles and the Half Slow Roasted Chicken. The chicken and waffles were pretty good. No complaints there. The waffle was especially good. My husband ordered the chicken. It looked good except for those collard greens. Heck no! LOL! They looked like someone went out back, pulled some greenery from the yard and threw them on the plate. I don't know what kind of collards those were supposed to be but I've never seen greens at a soul food restaurant looking like that. They'd be better off buying canned greens and serving those. The chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy were good but that chicken was dry. If it weren't for the plentiful amount of gravy that chicken would be a choking hazard. We also ordered the Jalapeño Cornbread to go with our entrees. That was a no. So dry we don't even bother eating it. It's really interesting because the website and menu give off elevated dining vibes and it is far from that. It doesn't need to be fine dining but it should be shown for what it is, which is casual dining. For example, stamping the name of the owner's website on the wine glasses you'd never seen in a finer dining restaurant but would see in a pub, bar type of place. Just mixed messaging. The service was good and all of the wait staff were nice and attentive.

I've been to SCK a few times. The service is always good and food is superb. I always try something new each visit. The waiter suggested the popular breakfast quesadilla which was different for me. There was enough protein to keep you full and the breakfast potatoes were delicious. Wings were a good size and were fried enough for me! The cheesesteak egg rolls are definitely homemade and tasted great! Clean restrooms as well. Can't wait until my next visit.

Jambalaya, fried pickles, biscuit, shrimp and grits

I wanted to try this place for a long time because it gets recommended a lot in various community groups. Reviewers typically highlight the friendly service here, but that was not my experience. The service was lukewarm. The staff saw me walk in and chose to keep doing their own thing instead of greeting me. After standing there awkwardly for a few moments, someone said they would be right with me. When they came to hostess stand, I told them I wanted a seat for two and they said, "hold on" and ran off again. For context, the restaurant was not busy. From the beginning I felt like my presence was a nuisance to them. Food service was good. Someone took our orders, checked in on us, and the food came quickly. We ordered the lemonade mocktails. They were way too sweet. After adding half a glass of water, it was palatable. For food, we tried the fried pickles, jambalaya, shrimp and grits, and a side of biscuit. The fried pickles were pretty good. They are fried pickle chips. I was expecting fried pickle wedges. The jambalaya was a miss. It looked more like a salad than a stew. One dimensional flavor and not at all close to what I've tasted in the south. I enjoyed the Shrimp and grits, it is something I would order again. Biscuit was average, nothing memorable. If anything, it was on the dry side. The portions were huge! Neither of us finished our entree. If you're looking for value, this is a good spot. You will not leave hungry. My star rating is for food only. I normally don't care about service because my priority is food quality. I only felt the need to comment on it because so many people recommended this spot for their friendly service.

I've eaten a Southern Cross quite a few times and enjoyed everything I've tried on the menu. The service is always excellent. I recently had my bridal shower there and the staff were absolutely amazing. They were proactive in anticipating the needs of the party, and worked quickly and efficiently. I could not recommend them enough. The restaurant and event space are also so pretty! I will be back to eat again.

Bananas foster French toast (has nut topping)

We had the mimosa flight. We chose 3 flavors and they were gracious enough to add a 4th for a nominal fee. I prefer my mimosas to be on the sweeter side and again service was top tier and the server provided us with small side glasses of each juice for the flights. For appetizers we had the cinnamon beignets, breakfast potato's and the jalapeño cornbread. The beignets came perfectly flaky, warm and melt in your mouth. The plate included dark chocolate sauce and whipped cream as well as diced strawberry and sliced apples and oranges. Sooooo yummy! The jalapeño cornbread was dry and hard. Throw that away and never let it see the light of day again. Pure grit! Yuck! I expected warm and moist. It's a southern comfort food. So disappointing. The breakfast potatoes we asked for well done and they delivered! They were well seasoned and so delicious! We also had the deviled eggs which features 3 regular deviled eggs and 3 seasonal deviled eggs. The regular were hustled okra. The filling wasn't well seasoned. The seasonal was much better and the basalmic drizzle was a nice touch! Our main item was the bananas foster French toast. Perfectly done! Our server was attentive and kind. I would come back just because of her. She checked in regularly without being overbearing. We love love loved that this place offers all day brunch AND multiple happy hour options throughout the day. We will be returning to try more things.

We stopped by here after work to grab brunch before the holiday break. Food was great, service was quick and the place was clean.

Get the relax beer. And the jambalaya, OMG.

Kevin, our host - great. Danielle, our waitress, great. The food - cheesesteak rolls, jambalaya, chicken sandwich, shrimp tacos, and the brisket - were ....to die for. The food - great. A lil commentary, the new schoole Yelpers are savages and should not be sharing there opinions, SC is what a good restaurant is. A friendly business with good cooks. Just go eat some good food. Go now!

We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later.

We started with the roasted tomato and fennel burrata. I have no idea how they make the sauce it comes with, but it's seriously so good, perfectly sweet and savory. We also tried the smoked trout board. We had never really gotten the whole tinned fish thing before, but this totally changed our minds. It came with Persian cucumbers, radishes with balsamic, capers, grilled sourdough, and this really good spiced labneh. Everything just worked together so well, and somehow it felt light and fresh instead of heavy. For mains, we got the lollipop lamb chops and the crab tower, and both were amazing. The lamb was cooked perfectly and came with this pea purée that we couldn't stop talking about. The garlic, honey, and rosemary flavors were so good. The crab tower honestly felt like spring on a plate. The mango, avocado, and red onion with the crab and that ginger lime dressing were just such a good combo, and the little kick from the sriracha aioli was perfect. Even the chips on the side were really good, which you don't always expect. We also loved the drinks, they were super creative and had really fresh spring vibes that went so well with everything we ordered. Overall, such a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

The space was gorgeous, there was a ton of buzz, and you could tell a lot of care and money went into it. But the first couple visits just felt... fine. Drinks were okay, food was okay, service felt overwhelmed. It didn't quite feel like the kind of cocktail spot that would pull us away from our usual Philly speakeasy and cocktail bar runs. Fast forward about a year later, and wow. Something clicked. We went back a few weeks ago and were completely floored. The cocktails suddenly had balance, creativity, and confidence behind them. I'm a whiskey sour snob in the most respectful way possible, and instead of ordering off the menu, I asked the bartender to just riff on one. It was an incredible. Tonight confirmed it wasn't a fluke. For the first time we sat inside at the bar, and Cameron absolutely crushed it. She made me a whiskey sour with passion fruit that somehow still respected everything that makes a proper whiskey sour great. Egg white, single cube, beautiful texture, balanced citrus, just enough bitterness on the finish. Legit one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. The hospitality was even better. Laura recognized us immediately when we walked in and welcomed us back like regulars. Then Lauren sent out an off-menu bite for us to try, crostini with brie, prosciutto, fig jam, honey, and green apple. Unreal. That's the thing about Rabbit Hole now. It no longer feels like a cool-looking neighborhood spot trying to figure itself out. It feels like a place that found its identity. If you care about cocktails, enjoy sitting at a bar talking to bartenders who actually know their craft, and appreciate genuinely thoughtful hospitality, go check this place out. Huge shoutout to Laura, Lauren, Cameron, and the team. You guys are building something really special in Conshy.

The decor has a California farmhouse feel with lots of wood accents and open shelving. Fortunately, we were given a quieter table in the corner off the main dining room although even that room was loud. We started off with drinks and appetizers. The Orchard and Oak bourbon cocktail in a tall glass tasted like a winter drink and was slightly sweet. We shared Daisy's Nuggets which I would definitely order again. Finally, nuggets with a little heat! A few more blue cheese crumbles would have been appreciated though. We also decided to try the Smoke Show pizza which was fabulous even though I'm usually not a fan of thicker crust pizza. I especially enjoyed the combination of flavors including the ricotta on top. As an entree, my husband ordered the Short Rib Ravioli which wouldn't have been enough for him without all the appetizers as the portion was small. It seemed more like an appetizer portion than an entree. The Smash Burger, however, was a hit. Our server sang the praises of Manny's Mussels saying you could drink the broth as a soup. Unfortunately, that was not the case as the broth was too oily. Also, there weren't many mussels. Additionally, the timing of these entrees was terrible. As we were enjoying our appetizers, the mussels and burger were brought out by a food runner. It seemed as though there was no communication between the food runner and the server who later apologized for the food coming out too early. Also, despite noting it on our reservation and actually calling and speaking to someone named Lily, our birthday chocolate cake was again brought out by an oblivious food runner with no candle. I asked him to please put a candle in it, and it was brought out a second time with a candle. Additionally, our first cup of decaf was lukewarm despite our server saying she had just made a fresh pot. Our second cup was a bit warmer. Overall, we enjoyed our food and the ambiance. However, the kitchen needs a system to communicate with the servers, food runners, and reservationists in order to make it a better experience for diners.
