I truly can't say enough great things about this place! Great custard and great staff! My boyfriend and I go a lot, and they always remember us. The only "down side" is that there are only ever three total flavors a day. They always have chocolate and vanilla, and then a rotating flavor of the day. Having one or two more extra flavors would be great! :) But only so we could enjoy more of their delicious custard ;) read more

The custard was delicious and the service was adequate. I had two scoops of the flavor of the day which was berry swirl in a waffle cone. The cone was definitely fresh baked and I enjoyed the viscosity of the custard. The prices were a bit high but I guess that is to be expected of an upscale frozen treat. read more

This was a great surprise to find. Custard is so rare, and to find one close to home a real treat. I got there shortly before closing time. The beautiful machine that produces the custard was being cleaned with great attention to detail, something I found quite reassuring. The shop's simplicity belies the variety of options available. This is a family run down home custard stand bringing the taste of my childhood home to Atlanta. I had a scoop of salted caramel with a shot of espresso on top it was wonderful. My only wish was that they had allowed the espresso to cool some as it melted too much of the delicious custard. I like a little melted creaminess mixed in but lost too much of the custard in the process. I will order it next time with two scoops. Oh, Wow!!! This is the best. Been hearing/reading about this wonderful place -- and it's FABULOUS. Three kinds of custard: vanilla, chocolate, and flavor of the day-- chocolate and hazelnut -- shared a medium size cup. Definitely decadent, definitely wonderful every bite. Eric was interesting and interested. I will be going to the gym in the morning, but -- worth every mouthful. Thank goodness I don't live too close or I'd be in REAL trouble. I just love this place. The decor is very warm and inviting and the open garage-door storefront brings the beautiful weather inside. Their custard is amazing. The employees are very helpful and they will give you a taste of the custard before you order. I especially like that they have a self-service water dispenser. I always need water after eating custard (which is 10X's better than ice cream). It reminds me of the truly great custard stands (Leon's and Kopp's) in my home town of Milwaukee, WI. In one word...amazing! My brother and I walked in to try some of Southern Custard's desserts on a whim, and I am so glad we did. Matthew was one of the guys who served us, and he was fantastic. Matthew took the time to not only answer all our questions, but explain the company's history, sample the custards, and even went out of the way to give us a couple of free poffertjes (which you HAVE to get)! The flavor of the day when we went was Apple Crisp, and I most definitely bought a pint to take home. I even returned two days later for their Frose flavored day, which was another hit! Fun little custard place. Great if you love quality ice cream. Have a great treat called the Affogato which is espresso and custard. They always have vanilla and chocolate flavors available and then a rotating daily flavor like marshmallow or peanut butter. The store front has a huge garage door that's usually open so you can enjoy the weather on the nice patio. Great friendly staff. I highly recommend. read more
