Service was outstanding! I believe her name was Lee. She managed our large group flawlessly. The food overall was pretty good. The baked turkey wing was not as meaty as I expected and tasted peppery, the lemon peppery chicken wings had so much lemon that it tasted sour. The collard greens I expected to taste turkey did not. The baked Mac & Cheese, Yams, cornbread, catfish, shrimp, jerk chicken turkey chops seasoned and prepared well; would order again. I appreciated that their drinks made in house were not too sweet. This day wasn't a good day!! Parking- It is a fairly large parking lot but it can get full. You will be able to find parking, just may not be close to restaurant door, depending on the day. The business is shared with several other businesses. Ambiance- Nice. It is a nice size but several of the tables are very close. There is an outside eating area and the plus is it's covered. They do have bar seating also. Looked to be a full bar. I came to eat, so I didn't get pics of the establishment, plus me and my homegirl were running our mouths, lol. Food- I'll keep this short and sweet. No side salads available, so I has to get a 11 dollar bowl of lettuce(Ceasar Salad).... it was cool. I went with there Shrimp and Lobster Cajun Pasta, I do believe it was called. I was not happy with it! The Pasta and sauce had no seasoning, it just hit my palate with just spicy kick, no flavor. My Lobster just gave what it was, the shrimp had some flavor that was ok. More than anything else in the bowl. I put everything together for a bite...shrimp, lobster, sauce and pasta, it still didn't pull it all together for me as a yummy Cajun Pasta.... still no flavor. I was really disappointed, I was so excited about it. I even had my homegirl girl taste it and she was like... no, no. Service- Our waitress really nice and sweet, once she came to see about us. It was a busy day, so she managed her tables well. She checked on us and asked how did we like everything, I let her know I wasn't happy with it, it didn't have flavor, she asked me what do I want to put on it. I said I don't know, because I don't know what they use because it was more than just bring me some salt. The young lady then says "let me see something and I'll bring you something back". She never came back. I was stuck with it, she never came with a solution. Unfortunately, I did end up immediately going to grab a bite to eat after learning there establishment(crazy)! Now though I walked away unhappy and had to spend more money to grab something else to eat. I said, I could go back and just know to try something different(this is also what the waitress told me) I lead with this was my experience because I do know people who've enjoyed everything they've ordered eachtime. They each did say they felt they were pricey, not to the point of they wouldn't go back for that reason and I could agree. Nice decor but the music is too loud. I like a little background music but not so loud I can hardly hear the people sitting at my table. I order the BBQ beef short ribs. This was basically a chuck roast slow cooked with BBQ sauce poured on top. The roast had a lot of fat on top. I had a side of mac & cheese and greens. The Mac & cheese was not bad. The greens had too much of the stalks in it and they needed more time to cook. I will say their drinks were on point...strong, like I like my drink. One more thing, this may have been a one off, but towards the end of our meal we started to feel the temperature in restaurants starting to get warm/hot. I don't know if they keep the AC high so it doesn't come on that often, but we noticed it was gettin hot in there. I would go back to try the lamb chops but our waitress told me they are well cooked. I had the 3 piece lemon pepper wings, lobster pasta, and money shot drink for $58. Auto gratuity and taxes made it to $73. Pros The food is great. Our waitress was excellent as well. 10/10 customer service. Cons The pricing is high, the menu is limited, a 2 hour wait time for food, and there's no free refills on any drinks (soda and juice included) . The lobster pasta was good, but not good enough for me to get again. Would I Recommend: No, based off their wait time and no free refill policy alone. 5/16/2026... Husband experience- My husband and family, dined in for his brother's birthday dinner. My husband ordered fish with string beans and yellow rice. I didn't attend, because I just had surgery and is resting. They all gave the restaurant a 5 out of 5. They said the food was delicious and would be back soon. My experience- I ordered the turkey wing dinner with mac and cheese and collard greens. The turkey wing has a kick to it (spicy), but everything was delicious. 5 out of 5 for me too on the food. The restaurant is new and has an industrial vibe. We were seated quickly, but a lot of people were waiting and there was not really a good place for them to wait. It was a bit awkward. Our waitress was great! I hate I didn't get her name...but she looked just like the actress Regina King! She was very thorough in terms of making sure we understood what to expect. No drink refills on drinks, etc. I really appreciated this. If she hadn't warned me and I found out after the fact, I would have been very upset. (Southern Fire--you should reconsider. At least offer refills on tea. You charge $3.50 a glass for something that costs you maybe $.40 to make. You are losing money here). Ok, so I was feeling some trepidation from the start...when the food came, my concerns were assuaged. Delicious fried chicken, shrimp, beef short ribs, pasta! The salmon bites were a standout as well as the collards. Honeee! Everyone was happy with their entree's and sides. Our waiters accurately advised that the food was well seasoned--not salty, but seasoned. We splurged on red velvet creamer for dessert. It did not have the rich moistness that I expect from RVC, but perhaps it was a fluke. Overall, I was very pleased. If you never been to SFK, you are truly missing out. Last week was my first time at the Fayetteville location and it didn't disappoint. I went during happy hour (which I didn't know was a thing). Drink and appetizers specials until 7 PM! The drink were bomb! I ordered an appetizer as my entree and just added a side. The food was delicious. The vibe was nice. This location (to me) is bigger than Brookhaven, but still has a homey feel. Our waitress was very friendly and offered phenomenal service. This is one I was definitely keep in my rotation. BEWARE, this restaurant does not use any safety measures to protect your food from tampering when you order from DoorDash. You could at least staple the bag or tape it so I can feel confident that the random delivery driver didn't do anything to my food. After I received my food, I immediately lost my appetite. The "vibe" is nice for young people. But the food is really good. Our server was nice but he was a little in the weeds. The prices are a little much but comparable to a lot if the restaurants now. We celebrated my mom's birthday here and it was a smash! The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was amazing! Shout out to our server, Victoria! She was very patient and efficient. Also very friendly! Her service came with a smile and we had a party of 15 but she never once lost patience and every order was accurate the first time! I was impressed. I had the catfish with mac and cheese and collards. I also had the honey garlic wings. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband and son both had lamb chops. I haven't had a bad meal and I've eaten there at least 10 times but a week ago my cousin had the yellow rice and jerk chicken, which in her words was gross and salty! From the looks of things the rice looked soft and not appealing and the chicken was black from way too much jerk seasoning! When we notified the waiter he responded that we should have said something sooner but he will let the manager know! He also proceeded to say since we are Jamaicans we shouldn't expect the jerk chicken to taste like authentic jerk chicken and that the restaurant caters to a certain class of people that don't mind the food being too salty or too sweet!! From the rip the manager Shay came over with an attitude! My cousin explained to her what the issue was and her facial expressions was that off disgust! I told her that I'm a regular with my hubby and daughter we support black business so we would expect her to make it right if not I'll give a review on Google. She responded with one thing doesn't have to do with the other! I responded excuse me it absolutely does! Then she says to me "are you threatening me"? My first time at this establishment and the food was seasoned well. When we arrived we were told it's an hour wait due to large parties being served. We waited about 30 minutes and were called to sit down. I had the fried shrimp, Mac and cheese and collard greens. Everything was seasoned well. My drink was a blueberry lemon drop with tequila. She mentioned she doesn't eat meat but said a lot of people love the short rib, so I gave it a try--and I can see why. It was really good and came with mashed potatoes and collard greens. We came to the Fayetteville location on a very busy Mother's Day and drove almost an hour to get there. We normally go to the Brookhaven location, so finding out there was one closer with less traffic made us excited and let's just say the drive was definitely worth it! Even without a reservation on one of their busiest days, the Owner Trice showed us so much grace after hearing how far we drove and was able to get us seated. The service was amazing and our waiters Winter and Darren were so attentive and welcoming. I had the mac and cheese, collard greens, and turkey wing. My husband had the fried chicken wings, yellow rice, yams, and cornbread. Everything was seasoned to perfection truly 10/10. I loved how they honored our reservation at 4:00 pm when doors opened . If you didn't have a reservation you had to wait for all the people who had a reservation to be seated . Now I am not a person who likes chicken skin so I expect for meat to be seasoned .. it was bland as hell ., the skin had all the flavor, ding get me wrong it was a good flavor, but I don't do skin.. the black eyed peas first bite was amazing but as I dug in it became extremely salty . I was not a fan of the Mac n cheese at all. I don't know the type of cheeses they used but it wasn't for me and it was salty as well. My husband recently tried lamb chops at another restaurant and loved them, he was turned off by the lamb chops here . He didn't care for the greens or potatoes. Party of 2- went here with no reservations on a Sunday, it was packed. The hostess offered the bar and the patio to keep us from waiting. It was too cool out, there was a regular wait time of about 20-30 minutes. No biggie. Our waitress ran down the menu and stated that everything was good. And it was. I had fried chicken, Mac n cheese, yams and the honey cornbread with raspberry lemonade. The portions were decent. Let me start with the food is delicious!!!! We started with two orders of the wing starters. The honey garlic flavor was cooked to perfection and delicious!!! I had the whiting with yams and greens. My husband had the turkey chops with Mac &cheese, okra, and black eyed peas. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Even the price point was pretty decent for what we got! BUT! The service absolutely SUCKED!!! When we walked in there was a young lady sitting at the front desk and she literally did not say a word to us. I walked up and said hey she just looked at me. After a few minutes an older lady walked up. I assume she was the hostess or manager. She literally looks at me and says "what we doing"? Not how can I help you? We stated there were two of us and she said okay and walked away. They don't take names or give you a wait time. You just have to wait. Once we're seated our server was sweet but forgetful. We assume because she had several tables all over the restaurant. The starter was quick to come out which we appreciate. After about 20 minutes the server comes up and asks are we ready for the ticket. We explain we hadn't received our food yet. She apologizes and the food comes out after. We needed several things for our meal hot sauce, more drinks, etc. it took the waitress forever to come back to the table. In between that, we weren't eating because we were waiting on our server. The bus ladies came over with those nasty bus tubs trying to take our plates that had full meals on them. After waiting a while my husband went to ask the older lady who sat us if someone could get us a refill on drink. She pointed to the server and said she's your server. He states he knows but she seems busy and overwhelmed. She commented again that was our server and she'll send her over. Mind you, at the moment, the lady wasn't busy in the moment. When the server finally comes over she responds I just want to let you know there are no refills, she did not mention this before. We said that's fine we'll still take them because we needed a drink for our meal. So $7 for a coke is INSANE!!!! Anyway, we asked for the bill and the drinks to go because at this point we were done. The bus lady comes up again trying to take our plates while we waited for the Togo containers! Bus tubs are disgusting but to continue to walk up with it to a table that isn't clear is NASTY and UNACCEPTABLE!! Apparently the Brookhaven location has operated longer and may need to offer a little help to the Fayetteville location. Again the food is amazing but it'll be a while before I return. Good food does not excuse poor service. The several tables that left before us that were also upset so this is not a one time situation. On top of this to offer horrible service and automatically add an 18% gratuity to a bill is unacceptable. I have no problem tipping my server (my husband is in the hospitality business so we are very big believers of tipping)! I'm just really sad about the experience. But this also shows how social media can blow up a restaurant that isn't ready for the crowd. Actually I should have known better. The food was good. However the service was horrible. I made a reservation and the hostess did not have a reservation for me and randomly created a table In such a weird spot . It took some time to get a waiter . Our waitress made so many mistakes and I had to ask other people to get her attention the entire time . Our appetizer was given to the wrong table. Our beverages took so long to come out our meal came out first . We had an issue getting a refill. We had a to go order and it took almost an hour to get the to go order . Some of the food was cold . The only reason for the 2 star is because the taste of the food was good. But everything else needs work. There should be more than 2 waiters on a floor full of guest on a busy Sunday .
