When I walked in, the restaurant was busy, and it was obvious they had a lot of orders to handle. Even with all that was going on, Sydney greeted me with a warm smile, made eye contact, asked how my day was going, and made me feel like a valued customer. She was friendly, engaging, and never seemed overwhelmed despite leading the team and keeping everything running smoothly. That's the kind of customer service that leaves a lasting impression. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I can definitely see why this place stays busy. I visited this location 2 times...on July 20th 2026..and July 27 2026...after co workers ask me to try out their food...my purchase was their meatloaf dinner, with the sides of rice...yams...macaroni and cheese....i purchased a slice of sweet potato pie...1st visit the place wasn't crowed and close to closing...the meatloaf was basic no seasoning very bland..the red sauce on the meatloaf tasted as if they simply added bbq sauce..their rice was very dry....the yams were ok. The sweet potato pie, was flavorless. It tasted like a bland custard. July 27th visit..tried the meatloaf again. It was horrible. The mashed potatoes tasted sour, they ran out of cornbread so I asked for some white bread, the server, gave me a crazed look and said..I will see what I can do...the sweet potatoes were bland, and very little...i purchased a piece of white layered cake , with orange colored icing...the cake was definitely stale, and cold from constant refrigeration, which is to simply hide the staleness....i will never ever eat at another big daddy,s restaurant again...the cashier, before she ran up my purchase,asked me if I don't mind reading and answering a question displayed on the cash register monitor screen...that question was how much would you like to Tip.....not did you find everything ok...is there anything thing else I can do for you.. I usually have a phenomenal experience at big daddy's but not this time, yesterday, May 24, 2026. First of all, I placed a to go order so I didn't have to stand in line with the 50+ people for 45 minutes to an hour. However, when I arrived, past the order completion time, I had to wait another 20 minutes for my order. Secondly, the lima beans were way overcooked and mushy. Extremely disappointing considering I love lima beans and ordered an extra 8 oz serving. Complete waste of money and not up to par at all.. In addition, the delicious cornbread dressing had a ton of small chicken bones in it. Definitely not something that I was expect or look forward to in dressing. Very disappointing. Furthermore, I will never understand why they allow homeless people to sit at each door entry and back. One page from told them that they needed to remove them from the front doors because it was not a good look for their business and that big daddy would not be happy about it, nothing was done. On the positive side, the collard greens, broccoli rice casserole, cabbage, squash medley and baked chicken were good. Overall, this was not a great experience and I will think twice before coming back to this location. However, if you ever want to try it out, I strongly recommend ordering online and setting your pick up time for 15 minutes earlier than when you plan to arrive. We were doing some shopping at metro mart iykyk! and super super hungry after wandering around for hours and looking at all the shops. I found big daddy's kitchen on yelp so we came here for dinner. Be ware the line is really long and very slow, it took almost 40 min to get to the end of the line. We came on a Saturday night, I guess Sunday brunch after church the line sometimes goes around the whole restaurant and outside the door. The food is a cafeteria style , you let the first server know what meat you want, and then when you get closer to the cashier the other servers will put the sides on your food. It isn't super efficient and ends up taking a long time to eat/ pay for your food. By the time we got our food it wasn't super warm anymore. We didn't know which meat to choose but we knew we really wanted the oxtail. So we ended up with oxtail and fried chicken for our mains. We also got the yellow rice, okra, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy. For dessert we got the blueberry cobbler, and the blue cake. The cake was a little dry but the cobbler is A+. The oxtail was soo soft and so tender, literally falling apart. The sides were also so yummy and the gravy was so savory and delicious. Total was $72 for a massive amount of food! We got confused were the front door was after parking. But then when we walked in, wow there was a line that wrapped around the counter. It took us probably around 45 mins of waiting in the line. It was a bit confusing on how to order too. We are not from here. So we asked a couple people. When it was our turn to order, the worker said he was only in charge of the meat. But we could not see what meats were available to order as the line wrapped around and we have to go further to see the other available meats. So this is why it was kind of confusing / chaotic.
