Hoppy Crisp and some patio seating
Key S.

They have a great selection of beers and offer a food menu. TI tried the Hoppy Crisp and got a BLT sandwich. The pours and food were both very fresh. The service was very attentive. I appreciate how they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a parking lot, which is super helpful. The vibes wer every chill and laidback, which I appreciate in a brewery. Will definitely stop by again!

Ben was pretty excited to try Southern Grist Brewing while we were in town. We went to the location closest to where we currently worked and they had plenty of drink options and also mentioned that their other locations would have different ones as well as they had sold out of some earlier that day. I do have to say the one thing that I love about traveling and I'm going to different breweries, is that we get to go there during the week during business hours. Where it is not as busy, so we have more of an opportunity to sit wherever we want and enjoy the space in surroundings that they have the offer. They had lots of sour options for me to choose from so we, of course, got a flight to share. Very yummy and can't wait to check out their other locations.

If you are looking for a great brewery in East Nashville that is a little off the beaten path, has something to fuel everyone in your group, and also comes with an awesome staff - look no further than Southern Grist! A go to for my husband and I when we lived in East, and where we took all our guests. They have great small bites and you can take home some brews as well! I love getting a flight there to try some seasonal releases and then some of my go to drinks! Stop in for a flight or a good pint the next time you find yourself in East Nashville.

Beers were good, but the Grist burger was great! Tried several beers on tap all good quality. The burger was delicious do not pass it up if you are hungry. Bartenders were friendly. Several TVs available for people who wanted to watch the game.

This place is pretty neat, it's part brewery and part restaurant. My husband tried the Key Lime Pie Sour Alen and the Passion Fruit Guava Hill. He preferred the passion fruit one. Across the way has an antique shop / bar.

5 oz pours: southern crisp, blueberry peach cobbler, there gose cab, money moves

My husband and I love a good brewery, especially those that are dog friendly. Came here while on the waitlist to be seated for a nearby restaurant. We opted for a few sample pours (at 5oz you can try more than one while still drinking responsibly) and small bites. We ordered 6 different beers and the fries with truffle and Parmesan. The batter on the fries is extra crispy and served super warm. When paired with the dill aioli and a cold beer it's just... mmm chefs kiss! We enjoyed all of the beers, but our favorites were peach blueberry cobbler, and coconut stacks on stacks. They sell 16 oz cans in 4 packs or singles to mix and match. We ended up bringing a few for home, but they didn't last long! Will be back on another day off.

Stopped by during our Beer Hop Trolley. Inside has plenty of seating - you order at the bar and seat yourself. There seems to be a little restaurant area in the back, we didn't have food that day but it looked good. Beers were very creative and great. Servers friendly and quick. Brightly lit inside, tons of people getting cans to go. It's a busy place. We will be back.

I stopped by Southern Grist Brewing for a Sunday lunch, and it did not disappoint! While I don't drink alcohol, I had the HOP water, which was refreshing and unique. My husband and his friend all had beers and said they were delicious while they watched sports. I went with a gluten-free option and had the burger without the bun--it was fantastic, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Caesar salad was another highlight; it's gluten-free and comes with Parmesan croutons that are absolutely to die for. Their merch selection is amazing--I ended up buying all the stickers, two shirts, and a hat. If I'm ever back in town, I'll definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Great beers and love the setting, haven't been since the move. The Freezies is phenomenal!!!

Stopped here on a whim when we arrived to Nashville. There is lots of seating inside and outside as well as bar seats. You walk up and order any drinks/food you may want and then find a table. The bar tender was nice and let us try a few beers. I ordered a sour beer, blueberry peach cobbler, it was great! And I also ordered the Cesar salad fries- the ultimate girl dinner. They had a tad too much dressing but I would 100% order them again and will be trying to make them at home as well. Swing by, grab a beer, and some food.

My sister recommended this brewery whilst I was in Nashville. Wide selection of beers on tap and to go. Food was pretty good as well, I missed brunch that day but I've heard good things so I'll definitely be back to try brunch. The staff was fun & friendly which made for an overall good experience!

ANDREW! The man.

1. Andrew is the MAN. We love him. He is very attentive, fast, and funny. All ya could ask for. 2. The caesar salad fries were good but tasted nothing like a caesar salad. It tasted like a Taco Bell potato taco. 3. We probably won't eat here again but it's the best place to drink and play games. CAVEAT BEING if they brought back the chicken sandwich. 4. The vibe is spectacular especially a little later in the night. When the brew bus tourists are there it's too rowdy for my liking, but it's the best once it mellows out later on. :) 10/10 would recommend... or I guess 5/5.

Perfect spot for a Friday night happy hour. Brought my dog and sat on the very spacious patio. As this was my first time here, the cashier helped answering my questions on which beer to choose from. She knew all the "beer terminology" and her advise helped me pick a lager I really enjoyed!

Ask the Community - Southern Grist Brewing

Are there gluten free options?

When I went in December there were no gluten free options.

Is there food or food trucks that come to either location?

I don't know, but they have a kitchen at the taproom.

Need less to say we continued inside. I'm no sure if this is handicap assessible as we walkeeld up a lil incline to steps. When entering we were looked at in a way that was not warming. However, a voice came from the bar area with directions. We chose to to the flight. The choices were selected with a little help from the bar. They came out pretty quickly. The tasting started and it out of 5, only one did not have a nasty and strong hoppy/bitter after taste. The select were Passion fruit, Hippies and Cowboy, Southern Wit, Urban Hiker, and Wildwood. As we spent our time no one seem to as if we needed anything or if our selection were ok. We got some "why are you in here type" looks. I was not impressed by this brewery. The customer service and my sensing of being not welcome was high. Note we were the only patrons. I would not return.

I'm 30 years old and have used this license without issue for years. When I asked what specifically was wrong with the ID, nobody could provide an explanation. Instead, staff consulted a manager and simply told me they would not be serving me. Meanwhile, the other members of my group, all around the same age and carrying valid IDs, were able to order drinks without issue. As an Asian customer, I left this establishment believing I was racially profiled. I was singled out, denied service despite presenting valid identification, and never given a legitimate explanation for why my ID was supposedly unacceptable. Since the incident, I have found multiple reviews from other customers of color describing experiences that raised similar concerns about profiling and disparate treatment. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. There are plenty of businesses in Nashville that can verify IDs without treating customers this way.

We also ordered their chili sauce on the side, which paired really well with the pizza and added a great kick. The only downside was the portion, they filled less than half the container, which was a bit disappointing considering it was an extra $3. Service overall was great, and they have a solid selection of beers to choose from if that's your thing. The space itself is nice too. My only small gripe is that I wish they kept crushed red pepper and Parmesan on the tables so you don't have to flag someone down for it.
