I came across Smith and Lentz Brewing on TikTok, and after seeing the photos, I knew I had to try it, and I'm glad I did. I asked for a meatless option, and our waiter recommended the white pie. It absolutely did not disappoint. The crust was that perfect New York-style thin, crispy, sturdy, and no flop at all. Each cheese on the pizza had its own distinct flavor, and somehow every bite kept getting better. It's one of those pies you just don't want to stop eating. We also ordered their chili sauce on the side, which paired really well with the pizza and added a great kick. The only downside was the portion, they filled less than half the container, which was a bit disappointing considering it was an extra $3. Service overall was great, and they have a solid selection of beers to choose from if that's your thing. The space itself is nice too. My only small gripe is that I wish they kept crushed red pepper and Parmesan on the tables so you don't have to flag someone down for it. Hello people! This pizza shop is one of the best places ever. It's similar to zaza's pizzeria in Chicago for having a really good wood fire taste that is SOOOO good. Idk which one is better though. It's cooked to perfection and has the best crunch. The service there was amazing. They had waters out immediately and were very nice. The pizza took a little long to make but it is so worth it! Very understandable also. The inside was very nice and pretty big since it is a bar and pizza shop. They were very efficient with their organization too. Yippie! Great pizza!! The menu is very simple, but the flavor combinations were really unique. The cacio e Pepe pizza was amazing (must like black pepper), and the meat lovers with capers was incredible. We had heard some great things about Smith & Lentz, and as it is one of the highest ranking pizza places in Nashville we decided to stop by. Everyone working there was very friendly and our server took time to explain the menu to us. We tried the sourdough garlic bread, and the texture and taste of the bread was absolutely delicious. We received two pieces in our order. For our pizza we ordered a supreme with no olives. We added the "prom" seasoning, minus the chili pepper. The pizza was delicious! It had great flavor and we had a couple pieces left to enjoy later. We also enjoyed the ranch, garlic butter, and tomato sauce dipping sauces. The vibe was very good and I'm sure on a day that wasn't super rainy, it would be popping. It was a little too dark in the restaurant, but the staff was lovely. The food was a 9.9/10! The garlic bread was good, but unexpected. It was a wheat bread instead of white, but I love the tomato dip it came with. The fall salad was also good. The real winner was the pepperoni pizza. WOW! Dear lort in heaven, a place that had not one, not two, but NINE Pilsners on tap?! How is this place real? How did I get this lucky? Pilsner is my favorite style of beer, particularly Pilsners with non-traditional hops. This place has Pilsners of all types from the old world to the new world. They also have incredible pizza. This place consistently delivers a great experience. First, the beer is some of THE best Nashville has to offer. Then the pizza. The crust is made from their own sourdough and is baked at high temp in an Italian (I believe) pizza oven. The outside of the crust is bubbly and crisp and chewy all at the same time. The toppings are all top notch but that darn crust might be the best part. The two salads they offer contain the freshest greens I've ever had in a restaurant. This place cares about quality. My wife and I sit at the bar when we visit and have such a great time chatting with the servers/beer tenders when they aren't busy. I've also never had a problem finding a good parking spot either. I've somehow missed this place until recently, meeting some friends for a celebration. There are some really great things about this place, some less great, thus averaging it out at a solid "3". First the good: really good beer. There are around a dozen of their own brews on draft-- some IPAs, some lagers, some stouts. I tried 3 and the "Turn on the Lights" (4.5) half-liter was my favorite as it's chocolatey with hints of toffee and coffee. All beers are $7 and this is more than fair. Other goods--to me, the pizza was pretty solid to almost great. We ordered the sausage and kale pie and my wife found it a bit too crispy around the edges (though the with the pizza oven on this thinish crust it's hard to not blacken at points so she understood) but our biggest issue with it was that the kale vastly outweighed the sausage. A LOT of kale (but good, crispy) and a little (tiny, minced) sausage. Bigger pieces in an equal measure with the kale (a little less) would have been good. Great sauce and cheese on this one, though. Also good--plenty of free parking in the area even on a weekend. Mostly good--we had the roasted cauliflower. It was very tasty, but a bit mislabeled. It wasn't "roasted" it was "lightly baked and/or sauteed". A mixture of broccoli and cauliflower with panko breading crumbs and a cream sauce. I could have used smaller chunks roasted more thoroughly. Okay, the less than great-- while service was super-friendly and efficient (our server checked on us often but not obtrusively, brought us fresh drinks quickly, served the food fast, etc.) they could have taken a big step in being simpler with the check. As we were a group of 12 or so, they let us know it had to be on one check making us all photograph the check and venmo the couple who paid the tab. Why not just take our orders as if we were at our own table as we ordered? Super simple and doesn't put the onus on the customer. Pricing--about 20% higher on food than many other similar options. That's about the gist of it. I'd definitely come back, probably for a different pizza and a beer or two. read more

Update! We visit the new incarnation of Smith & Lentz frequently. As a family, it straddles the line well between adult, tasty AF food and something the kids will eat. It's also lets the kids experience top tier pizza. As a Northeastern pizza snob, it is very important that my children understand the difference. What's even more important is that they understand there is room for both bad pizza and good pizza and that they can identify the difference. The ambiance is wonderful. I love the open kitchen.
