Other companies I talked to gave me mixed answers that turned out to be wrong. Pricing from Acushnet was well below everyone else in the state which would normally seem a bit strange but I believe it has to do with Solarcity pretty much owning MA solar and setting prices high. Other installers can come is a few pennies less than Solarcity and look like heroes. But, Acushnet has been doing solar even before Solarcity was here so their prices are not tied to Solarcity. Acushnet's prices are in line with other states so I felt good knowing that his pricing is not completely bogus. Makes me a bit mad that other companies are gouging people here in MA. I think the entire process for me was about 4 weeks from signing papers to getting my system installed. All the necessary signoffs from inspectors and electric companies took a bit longer (that is not Acushnet's fault). And since my system went live, it has been doing awesome and well within my expectations. My system is supposed to cover around 60% of my annual usage and it is actually on track to perform better this year. It's nice not having a bill for over 6 months! The one area that can be slow in dealing with Acushnet is on everyday service. I generally use email and I would usually have to wait a day before I get an answer back from someone. It's not a big deal but they could work to improve that a bit. They also sell other alternative heating products so I know they have a ton of customers beyond solar. The business is family run so it is nice to support a local company rather than one of these larger corporate owned ones. I would highly recommend giving them a try for a free estimate.

Originally went with this company because they were trustworthy, had great prices, and where very knowledgeable. But the service and communication is really bad. I have been calling every 2 or 3 days over the past 4 - 5 months and I NEVER get a call back. Leaving calm messages on their answering system, being told by the receptionist that someone will get back to you. Not ONE call back, EVER. A quarter of my solar panels have not been operating for over 6 months. Can't get anyone to respond. Spent $40,000+ on solar panels with no support. They used to be a great local company that provided upstanding service and great prices but no longer. Try for yourself. Give them a call and see what happens. Good luck.

I thoroughly researched and ultimately met with three solar installers based in RI. Sol Power was…read moremy top choice mainly due to the upfront work they completed to design a system that met my needs. This included explaining the various programs in RI, time on the roof where the panels would be installed and surveying the property to give me an idea of what trees would eventually need to come down. They designed and installed a 13.2 kW array consisting of 33 400 W panels, 2 SolarEdge inverters, 2 LG 13kW batteries, upgraded service to a 200 Amp SPAN smart panel, critter guard and new wiring for a Heat Pump and ceiling heater/fan. They also decommissioned and removed an existing thermal panel for hot water and managed the applications for grants, net metering and connected solutions. The installation work went well, and the system was operational (producing energy) in September 2022. The real test of a company is their ability to service the installed system. This is where the Sol Power team really shines and has proven to be outstanding! Over the last two years, they have been exceptional in their ability to keep the system up and running. Whether it be a software update or mechanical issue, they have always been quick to respond to correct any issues. Finally, they have a cooperative ownership model which instills a sense of pride in their work that shows through and in my estimation has yielded a very cohesive and highly effective team. Their level of expertise and their professionalism has been outstanding and they have proven to be a real partner.
