Several families arrived at the same time as my son and me. The staff immediately greeted us all with great enthusiasm. We were sat at our respective tables promptly and our server, Takia, was amazing. She was very friendly and attentive. The food was impeccable. I had French toast and eggs with turkey sausage and my son had waffles and eggs. Both entrees were fresh and the texture of the waffles and French toast were perfect. We enjoy checking out local pancake houses. This one was very welcoming. The staff was super friendly and the place was packed so that means good food! We ordered the Big Southern breakfast which came with pancakes, scrambled eggs (our choice) bacon, sausage, Virginia ham, biscuits (it was supposed to be one but since we split it, they gave us two) and fried apples which were awesome on the pancakes. I'm not sure how one person would eat all that, but hubby and I split it and had some fresh coffee that was served in individual containers with options for flavored or regular creamers. For traditional food establishment, they were high tech. Jennifer was able to put in our order at the table and we paid right there too. We had ordered the meal with the waffle, but I think it went to the table next to us. They offered to bring one out but what we had was already plenty, plus we got extra biscuits, so all good. Walked through the door and was greeted by a very nice host. She welcomed us in with a big smile. She seated us and in a minute out server came by. He as well was very welcoming. I give this four stars based on the service, brightness and cleanliness. The food was good. Nothing above the average but not below. I really enjoyed the apples with my breakfast. My family stopped at the Southern Pancake House on a Sunday morning in early October. We arrived around 7:45 AM so there was no line and only a couple tables were being used. After being promptly seated, our waitress came over for our orders. My youngest son had pancakes (good sized), my oldest son had pancakes with strawberries on them and a side of bacon), and my wife had an omelette. I had scrambled eggs with a homemade biscuit, delicious home fries and sausage that was a little dry. I enjoyed our breakfast but would like to try some of the other pancake houses around Williamsburg before I return to this one. Certainly a strong option if you eat here. read more

Went here for the first time with my family over the weekend. In my opinion there were pros and cons. Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful! I had called ahead to see if they take reservations and was kindly told they don't and that there wasn't a wait-time at the time I called. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile by Dottie and quickly seated. She was patient as we decided what to order. Once we did place our orders, the food was ready fairly quickly. My husband and dad enjoyed their meals! Cons: I was expecting a bit more flavor-wise from the pancakes (I ordered a plain 3-stack), and was disappointed at the small quantity of home fries I ordered for the price ($3.50 for about 4 forkfuls) -- although the home fries were tasty. This was the absolute best breakfast we had on our trip to Williamsburg. The second we walked in the door. I felt like I was invited to a friend house for breakfast. The greeting was warm and I instantly felt at home. Our server LaMont was attentive and we wanted for nothing. Finally the food was wonderful. The portions were big and food was inexpensive! Lots of seating, just ask and you can be seated where you like. The menu is large and you can create your own meal essentially (eggs, with pancakes or a waffle etc). The waiter was very nice and attentive. Visited this establishment in June 2025 for breakfast & was impressed from the start: A warm friendly greeting from a lovely woman at the hostess/cashier station to the delicious food served by an attentive, very pleasant gentleman (in the truest sense of the word) named Lamont. The food was cooked exactly as ordered & very good. Portion size was plentiful. I have a favorite pancake house I visit when in PA that I hold others to that standard. Shhhh, Southern Pancake at least is in equal standing & I dare say may have beat the PA one! Lamont kept my water glass filled at all times, not an easy feat if you ever dined with me LOL, & the others in our party were never down to the last sip of coffee. That sweet cashier sent us on our way laughing & smiling after chatting with us & wished us well. I forget to ask her name to acknowledge her personally here. My family of six came down to spend the day at Busch Gardens. After the park, we stopped at a local restaurant for dinner, but the food and service were a big letdown. The next morning, before heading home, we decided to give another local spot a try and we're so glad we did. Southern Pancake and Waffle House completely turned things around for us. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the food was even better. I'm on a strict diet and ordered a custom omelet with grilled chicken on the side and not on the menu, but they made it happen with no problem. I don't like having to give a low rating, but this was an awful experience. My husband and I went on Sunday; which is typical to be busy, but the service was all over the place. The workers were arguing with each other and not caring about others hearing them. The tables were sticky and not cleaned; which was not appetizing. I ordered, which you can see, pancakes; eggs and bacon. I asked for over medium eggs and burnt bacon. The eggs and bacon were both not made correctly and the pancakes had a rubber texture to them. Luckily my husband liked his omelet and biscuits but that's about it. The potatoes portion was barely any, as you can see as well! The server she was kind, but that wasn't enough for me. I couldn't wait to get out of that place: it was super loud and just wasn't the vibe I was looking for. To say that we had a great breakfast was an understatement. Everything was wonderful and Tia was a great hostess! I told them they should use a little swagger when they were told everything was absolutely delicious and they enjoyed the compliment - which is not an exaggeration by any means. They said their owner's motto is "Let them eat," and they are doing it well. The inside is decorated with lots of really neat items and the place was super clean. If you do not stop here while in Williamsburg - you're missing out! And - if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. The pancakes and eggs to order are great. We had fried chicken, bacon, pancakes, waffles, shrimp and grits and beverages. This play was high priced dining to be a breakfast spot. Our bill was $101.00 before gratuity. This absolutely NEVER happens for breakfast. Had we had mimosa flights I could understand. Two adults, a teenager and a toddler for that price? And no takeaway leftovers! We ate at Cracker Barrel yesterday and the food was $70.00 for two adults, two teenagers and a toddler. We also left with food to go as well. It was nice to see a black owned restaurant in this area. I just wish the food was more delicious. The fried chicken was good but not over $100.00 for breakfast food good. We most likely won't be back here but everyone's palate is different. read more

Once inside the there were still plenty of tables and we were seated quickly. The food was decent breakfast food. Nothing special to write home about except the prices which were pretty high considering they charged $12 for 1 waffle over $1 extra for every individual item like blueberries, bananas or chocolate chips. Their entire system was very antiquated and old fashioned. It has an old fashioned Ihop decor & vibe. And everything in the building seems that old. I have no intention or desire to go back to this restaurant I only gave it 3 stars because the the Server did her best to provide good service. read more
