I always enjoy breakfast at Southern Pancake. The friendly staff and great atmosphere, make for an enjoyable experience. The crispy bacon and soft scrambled eggs are some of my favorite. They have a wide variety of menu items. There's something to please everyone appetite.

My family stopped at the Southern Pancake House on a Sunday morning in early October. We arrived around 7:45 AM so there was no line and only a couple tables were being used. After being promptly seated, our waitress came over for our orders. My youngest son had pancakes (good sized), my oldest son had pancakes with strawberries on them and a side of bacon), and my wife had an omelette. I had scrambled eggs with a homemade biscuit, delicious home fries and sausage that was a little dry. I enjoyed our breakfast but would like to try some of the other pancake houses around Williamsburg before I return to this one. Certainly a strong option if you eat here.

Centralized location that isn't far from the outlets in Williamsburg. Very accommodating to how many kids we had and the space we needed, space is limited. The French toast and sausage were both winners. The waffle had no butter and they didn't come back for us to ask for some. Luckily my two year old just picked it up and ate it like a sandwich. Decor is older and a bit dated. Heads up, the items on the menu on à la carte can be built for cheaper than the listed meals. Overall, the food was good and the people were kind.

Menu. This one had a lot of syrup droplets on the inside.

Went here for the first time with my family over the weekend. In my opinion there were pros and cons. Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful! I had called ahead to see if they take reservations and was kindly told they don't and that there wasn't a wait-time at the time I called. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile by Dottie and quickly seated. She was patient as we decided what to order. Once we did place our orders, the food was ready fairly quickly. My husband and dad enjoyed their meals! Cons: I was expecting a bit more flavor-wise from the pancakes (I ordered a plain 3-stack), and was disappointed at the small quantity of home fries I ordered for the price ($3.50 for about 4 forkfuls) -- although the home fries were tasty. There were some minor cleanliness issues for me like one of the menus we received having a bunch of syrup droplets on the inside, and the vents needing a good dusting.

We visited with family during our trip to Williamsburg and had an outstanding breakfast experience. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful, the eggs and home fries were cooked perfectly, and the omelet was loaded with ingredients and tasted amazing. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot in Williamsburg, Southern Pancake and Waffle House is definitely worth the visit. We will be back!

The portions were big and food was inexpensive! Lots of seating, just ask and you can be seated where you like. The menu is large and you can create your own meal essentially (eggs, with pancakes or a waffle etc). The waiter was very nice and attentive. Also, the decorations were a great touch to the restaurant. The only critique is that part of our order was missing, requiring us to ask for it again. Other than this, it was a great time.

Your typical American breakfast :) Everything was delicious! Greek omelette was nice and light along with a hot tea. The server was very kind, checked up on us consistently, made sure we received all items. Southern kindness was very present! Plenty of parking, tables well spaced out, cozy vibes inside. If I'm in Williamsburg again, would visit here for brunch again!

Visited this establishment in June 2025 for breakfast & was impressed from the start: A warm friendly greeting from a lovely woman at the hostess/cashier station to the delicious food served by an attentive, very pleasant gentleman (in the truest sense of the word) named Lamont. The food was cooked exactly as ordered & very good. Portion size was plentiful. I have a favorite pancake house I visit when in PA that I hold others to that standard. Shhhh, Southern Pancake at least is in equal standing & I dare say may have beat the PA one! Lamont kept my water glass filled at all times, not an easy feat if you ever dined with me LOL, & the others in our party were never down to the last sip of coffee. That sweet cashier sent us on our way laughing & smiling after chatting with us & wished us well. I forget to ask her name to acknowledge her personally here. Hats off to Lamont, the wonderful hostess/cashier & the chef! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Williamsburg!

Food and service are excellent. We have always been greeted kindly when we first come in. Prices are very good and portions are a good size. There is a nice ambiance and you feel relaxed and comfortable while dining. Servers check on you to see how everything is and do not make you feel rushed. I absolutely love this restaurant. Give them a try if you are visiting Williamsburg. If you are a local and have not been you should go check them out.

Big time local flavor! Waitresses singing in the back ! Happy staff! Cat fish and egg were hot and good! Great big bottle of hot sauce! Biscuit commercial but good! Pancakes a must ! Eggs OE and very good home fries! Prices are different from menu!!!!!!

My family of six came down to spend the day at Busch Gardens. After the park, we stopped at a local restaurant for dinner, but the food and service were a big letdown. The next morning, before heading home, we decided to give another local spot a try and we're so glad we did. Southern Pancake and Waffle House completely turned things around for us. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the food was even better. I'm on a strict diet and ordered a custom omelet with grilled chicken on the side and not on the menu, but they made it happen with no problem. My family had everything from chicken and waffles to sunny-side-up eggs with turkey bacon. Every single meal was delicious. If you're in the area and want a good, home-style breakfast with great service, this is the place. We'll definitely be back.

I don't like having to give a low rating, but this was an awful experience. My husband and I went on Sunday; which is typical to be busy, but the service was all over the place. The workers were arguing with each other and not caring about others hearing them. The tables were sticky and not cleaned; which was not appetizing. I ordered, which you can see, pancakes; eggs and bacon. I asked for over medium eggs and burnt bacon. The eggs and bacon were both not made correctly and the pancakes had a rubber texture to them. Luckily my husband liked his omelet and biscuits but that's about it. The potatoes portion was barely any, as you can see as well! The server she was kind, but that wasn't enough for me. I couldn't wait to get out of that place: it was super loud and just wasn't the vibe I was looking for. I would definitely recommend the staff cleaning the tables throughly and keeping work rift raft to themselves.

How beautiful!

Great service and YUMMY food! Here early and food was quick and delicious. Family of four and both kids LOVED their food.

It looked to have a good vibe, but once we walked in, we realized it was a coffee shop that served food. You have to get in line grab a menu and place your order. Any coffee, water or juice juices are delivered on the right side of the bar and the food is delivered on the left side of the bar. And what I mean delivered that's where you have to go to pick it up. The food is served on Small paper plates so you will lose some of your food as you try to cut or move it.. I ordered the breakfast platter which was scrambled eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, and toaste. My partner had the cheese omelette with sourdough toast. There was nothing special or extraordinary about the food. With the small paper plates that they use food easily fell onto the table top. They don't offer water in a cup, but rather you can buy a bottle of water. If you didn't realize that after you ordered, you have to go back and get in line so that you purchase your water. (We assumed they had water/cups to use). We left felling unsatisfied.

However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

So much to love about this new discovery besides the fact that it's NOT a Starbucks lol and for those that know me, you know I love and love to support and discover tucked away indie coffee places (see my reviews!). This place is also a roastery and sells their own bean blends. I don't know the history behind the shop and name but was told it is chemistry themed and owned by W&M alum - yassssss! Service is SUPER friendly and excellent so that's a bonus! I lovvvvvvve that the latte menu is chock full of super creative seasonal flavors - so many to choose from!! I stopped by twice while in town and staying just down the street. Had a hot Rose Macaron latte and the next day had the Lemon Bar. Both were DELICIOUS. Both days I had the OG Bacon Egg Cheese sando on an ET bagel that was a decent accompaniment to my seasonal lattes which were clearly the stars of the show. The seating area is HUGE. 2 separate adjacent rooms - walk through the front ordering area and you'll find a large, super cozy and inviting "living room" type space with comfy couches, armchairs, dining tables with chairs and even cubes for studying.
