I tried eating here about a year ago, but when me and my family stepped in to be seated. No staff was visible, aka nobody waited on us. We stood there for 5 minutes or so, finally just gave up. I did look at the menu before we left the prices were outrageous. $12.99 for Mozzarella sticks for example. read more

This place was on the hotel grounds we were staying on! They were never super busy which was awesome and they had great daily deals like $5 margaritas on Thursday's! The staff was friendly (as long as you didn't come in within an hour or closing, as their frustrations were clearly visible) and the food always came out quick, hot and tasty! It had a cool vibe, not kitsch or under decorated but felt just right, like a neighborhood bar. Only draw back was how early they closed for a bar on a hotel property. We've been coming here for a couple of years but this has been closed because of COVID. It is back open and we have been impressed. It is nice having a place back open on the resort that we can walk to. Breakfast was made to order and perfect. We came back for dinner tonight and the food was excellent. Service is very slow. The food is decent for the price. If you are staying at the Powhatan resort and don't feel like driving out, I suppose this is an acceptable option. Stopped in for breakfast during our stay in Williamsburg. Our food was great and everyone was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

We had dinner (take out) from here while staying on the resort. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the wings and that would be my only complaint. The wings were breaded which is totally my fault for not asking. I prefer them naked then fried and flavored. The cheesecake we had made up for it though. read more

So this has fallen off the grid since Covid and was closed for some time. Reopened last May. Wife and I ate breakfast here this morning and now dinner. Give it a chance if you haven't tried it yet. This place may not be as bad as some of the older reviews let on, but there is nothing special about it. Like most of the other reviews state, it is convenient if youre staying on the property, and most, if not all, of the meals are simply frozen dishes warmed up in some manner, but its not horrible. We ordered the some apps and 1/2 price beers (5-6pm happy hour), and the kids ordered a cheeseburger and hot dog. The inside is decorated nice enough, doesnt seem old or in disrepair, plus there is a bar with TVs. The 1/2 price "rail" drink we ordered (gin and tonic) didnt taste like anything like gin or tonic. This place is OK and convenient, but not great, and there are other places to go in the area. read more

Let me first just be very clear that this is not a reflection of service provided. If you do decide to eat here, you may feel inclined not to tip well because of how trash the food is- but please remember that's not your waiters fault. Tip them correctly. The food is awful. I paid $14 for a chicken club that was rubbery- the avocado was squirted out of a bottle onto a small piece of lettuce in a fashion that looked like my infant shit on my sandwich. Terribly bland and was very clearly a frozen chicken patty that was wrapped in a paper towel and warmed up in the microwave. My mom had a salad, which in itself is pretty hard to mess up because it's just fresh veggies, but for the price was underwhelming. My dad got a crab cake sandwich and I could tell just from looking at it that it wasn't fit for human consumption. So if you must eat here, maybe just stick to what tastes okay when reheated, like maybe chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Don't drop your money on the steak or anything that requires a skilled cook. read more

It's just ok. We had a certificate from the resort, which basically covered most of our meal, so we can't complain. Typical grill food. When I went up front to ask the manager if he could swipe my card for the .48 he look at me and said yeah you have to pay that. Since we had a gift certificate from the resort that covered our breakfast, I really can't complain too much about this place. However, I would have probably given the grill a 1 if our meal had not been covered. My fiance and I visited the Powhatan Resort this past weekend through a Groupon deal and we were very surprised at how nice the condos and campus were. Our last morning, we went to the grill to use our gift certificate that was part of the Groupon. Our server was nice, but either was brand new or just not a good server. I was a server for many years in college and my fiance has his degree in food service management, so we are both aware of what it takes to serve. There were not enough customers in that place for her to basically ignore us the whole time. The coffee tasted like water, the ketchup was more water than ketchup, the "home fries" were clearly just frozen potato squares with no seasoning...I couldnt even eat more than a few bites. I got the omelet with crab and tomatoes in it (can't remember the name)- the omelet was actually pretty good...not the best thing i've ever had (you could tell the crab meat was low grade)- but still good. My fiance got some sort of layered egg with sausage dish that he said was good. It took way too long for us to be greeted, then only my food came out and I guess the server forgot to enter my fiances order. His came out pretty shortly after, and she did come over and apologize but that was the last we saw of her. She never checked on us after we got our food, and we had to ask the manager to finally get our check. Overall, I don't think I would ever visit there again- even with the free certificate. read more

This is convenient as a resort guest, and the food is good. We waited awhile for our food, but hardly noticed because we were in good company. We each had very different dishes (pasta, steak, and chicken) and we all enjoy them and were unable to finish the large portions. I probably wouldn't travel in to the grille unless I was a guest here but we enjoyed it and everyone was very cordial. read more

You're better off driving 2 miles away outside the resort for food that's actually good and not overpriced for no reason. I don't think anyone gets food from here without the free vouchers. This is the casual restaurant at the resort where we're staying. We hadn't had a chance to go shopping so we couldn't make our own breakfast this morning. We got a late start, so we arrived around 10:30. It was set up for a buffet, but whether it was for breakfast or lunch wasn't clear. We both ordered a crab omelet w/ green onions and tomatoes. It was accompanied by potatoes that looked as if they came from a bag, and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit was small and tasty. The omelet was good. Service was good. Alan realized after we'd left that he'd probably left his cap there and when we returned to check tonight the young woman at the front desk returned it to him w/ a big smile of evident pleasure. So, we are staying at the resort and had a $25 voucher. Good thing because the breakfast buffet was pretty bad. After we all tried everything on the line I asked the server, who was very nice, if any I the food was actually made fresh here. She wasn't sure but did find out for us. As we figured she said EVERYTHING on the buffet except for the french toast and pancakes, were packaged. That right folks, prepackaged scrambled eggs, home fries, grits... you get the picture. This review is based on breakfast only. I stayed at the resort over a weekend and decided that I would eat a breakfast at this location only because I had a coupon. This was the best breakfast that I have had in a very long time! Service was okay, but the meal was done to perfectuin. We ate dinner one evening while staying at the resort. I had a hamburger, which was actually pretty tasty and cooked to the correct temperature. My companion had a taco salad, which was perfectly edible and utterly forgettable. The kids all had various items from the kids' menu, most of which were frozen reheated things like chicken fingers and pizza. The live music that night was enjoyable. Our server was very sweet and took good care of us. The menu is very limited and basically exists of very standard fare that is fine if you're just looking for a meal onsite (for example, if it's your first or last night). read more

Eating here is not a good idea. Yes it's close but don't you want good food? Here's my experience in short. Sent my food back bc it had two things I'd asked not to have on my sandwich. It came back twice with something wrong and ice cold. For 14$ I was shocked. I told the waitress who simply did not know what to do and then said she'd already printed the ticket. Long story short I paid for the food I didn't eat and was too tried to continue to ask for assistance. While eating dinner I saw the waitress twice. I gave it two stars because my drink from the bar was ok and the waiter did change the channel on the tv so my young kids where not looking at the news. Last the restaurant smell like chlorine from the pool below. I'm sure there is nothing they can do about that; however if you are a smell sensitive person or looking for a quality dining experience this is not your place. It's more like the clubhouse lunch shack for the pool with Red Lobster prices?!? This is my first time not leaving a waitress a tip and I felt horrible ;-( But we gave her two chances to fix the situation. Won't be back and likely will not return to the resort as well.
