Beef sandwich

Food was horrible. No seasoning. No flavor whatsoever. Service is terrible, waited forever before anyone came to the window. Based on how it looked from the drive thru, it didn't look very clean either. Do not get food here.

Smoked turkey meal? Or sliced deli meat turkey from the local gas station ? Yuk! But the garlic bread was ok.

I ordered brisket and what I got looked like manufactured meat. It was even warm. I will not be back.

Best bbq in Ocala. Brisket, burnt ends, and sliced pork all great. Only issue, no mustard base sauce.

The St. Louis style ribs are not acceptable. They tend to be tough and inedible. Sonny's are a lot better.

Some days, you just want barbecue and this place does it well enough. Our servers have been awesome and the portions are of good size.

Same as Sonny's. This is just a bit better salad bar. Portions are just not worth the price.

Me and my husband visited the pig and cattle and that was the worst brisket and Mac and cheese I've ever had and overpriced.

I usually get a sliced roast pork sandwich with fresh corn on the cob and it's under $10.

After seeing how far it was from me, I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to sample . However, I found myself in a situation where I felt I could make the 30 minute (each way) drive. I was a little disappointed as I pulled into the parking lot got as, the building isn't exactly easy on the eye. But, I didn't let that sway me. Got there at about 12:15pm on a Thursday and saw lots of activity coming and going. There would about 3 or 4 people in front of me and I waited. As I waited, I watched. There didn't seem to be an efficient work flow in the kitchen. A lot of running back and forth instead of having things "right there". This translated into long service times. Got down to just one person in front of me and things stalled even more as there was much talking about this and that. The line behind me grew to about 10 people. If it wasn't so hot outside I believe the line would have gone out the door. I'll admit that I just about gave up as it probably was close to 15 minutes before taking my order. But, I stayed put. Angelo took my order of an Italian Combo and asked if I wanted it "All The Way". Always. However, I understand that "All The Way" means different things to different people but, I'm good to experience it, "however Christina's of Bellevue " sees it. Angelo was quick to clarify, however, that, "All The Way" meant having mayonnaise on the sandwich and, seeing me with my New York Mets hat on, wanted to be sure that's what I wanted or to just have "sub sauce" on it. Any respecting Italian Combo eater knows that putting mayo on this type of sandwich is an absolute travesty, and Angelo picked up on that he was dealing with an expert. Not exactly sure what "sub sauce" is but, let's go with it. Wasn't as long of a wait in the construction of the sandwich as I thought and I paid my cash (only btw) and was out the door for the 30 minute treck to west Ocala. I was happy at the butcher paper and masking tape wrap. I don't know why this matters, it just does! I unwrapped the sandwich and was pleased to see some soggyness. I realize that some people don't appreciate this type of thing but, I usually order by Italian combos with extra vinegar just for the soggyness. A little disappointed in the bread at first glance as it did not contain sesame seeds and was a little soft, soggyness not withstanding. Bread being the number factor in a good sandwich and, clearly the area is challenged in that respect. I dove in. The overall taste was very good. I would suggest to explain that the sandwich contains sweet banana pepper rings. I like that but, would be informative for the buyer to know that the sandwich is coming this way and perhaps give them the choice of hot or sweet pepper rings, or none at all. There was a sweet undertone to the sandwich beyond the sweet pepper rings and, I'm not sure if this was from the "sub sauce". I would make this my main criticism on the overall taste of the Italian combo. Make a "dressing" of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt/pepper/oregano/basil.....maybe a squirt of lemon juice, and that's what should be the "sub sauce". It did have a "store bought" quality to it. Nonetheless, I devoured both halves extremely quickly. Fair price at $11. Give it a try but, bring your patience and cash. Yes, I concur, best I've had in the area!!!!

Stopped by District Bar and Kitchen for a late lunch/early dinner on a beautiful spring day…read more The temperature outside was pleasant and so my dining companion and I opted for lunch on their patio. We were on their bottom floor patio (which was lovely) but I did spy that they have a rooftop patio as well (what's not to love?!?). Everything from the food to the cocktails to the service was exemplary. For my cocktail I got their Old Colonel's Smoking Gun which was their twist on an old fashioned and was delightful. For my entree, I got their salmon entree. It's glazed and comes with a size of their crispy brussels and cheesy grits. The brussels were delish and their cheesy grits rank among some of the best I've had with sharp cheddar giving them the perfect flavor kick. The atmosphere was so pleasant. It's definitely the sort of spot you'll feel tempted to linger. Get to it!

I called to order a large pizza and an order of 12 garlic knots. Before placing the order, I specifically asked the employee if they had garlic knots, and she told me they did. We were charged $8 for the garlic knots plus another $1.25 for what was supposed to be a "large" marinara. What we received was a tiny cup that wasn't even close to enough for a 12-piece order. When we got home, we realized we hadn't been given garlic knots at all. Instead, we received what were essentially plain dinner rolls with garlic butter poured over the top. They were completely saturated with butter, soggy, and honestly tasted terrible. We ended up throwing almost the entire order away because they weren't edible. I called back because I assumed someone had accidentally packed the wrong item. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the first employee repeatedly insisted that what I received was garlic knots. I explained that garlic knots are made from pizza dough that is tied into knots before baking--not dinner rolls covered in garlic butter. She continued insisting they were the same thing. They absolutely are not. The pizza itself was equally disappointing. The sauce was bland and tasted like a generic restaurant-supply product, not a homemade family recipe. The marinara tasted exactly the same, so paying extra for it was a waste as well. What disappointed me the most wasn't even the food--it was the customer service. Mistakes happen at every restaurant, and I completely understand that. But when a customer calls politely to point out that they received the wrong item, the response shouldn't be to argue with them and try to convince them they're wrong. A simple apology and an offer to make it right would have completely changed this review. Sadly, between the poor quality of the food, the misleading "garlic knots," the overpriced tiny marinara, and the rude customer service, this was not a good first impression. There are too many great local pizza places that value their customers for me to give this one another chance.
