Have been there numerous times over the past year with usually a party of 5 to 10 and the service is normally good even when busy. The beef however could vary between very good down to acceptable. Today I ordered the large cut of prime rib, medium with the extra of mushrooms and onions. As I started eating it I soon found every piece was mostly gristle. I scraped off the onions and mushrooms to find a piece of meat on the rare side with extensive gristle showing and even the meat looking portions were full of internal gristle (not fat, gristle). The server did not stop by during the meal so at the end I noted it was a terrible piece of meat, mostly gristle. I was asked if I wanted a replacement but that was way too late in the process. After taking my plate, upon returning the server said my meal was subtracted from the bill. It would have been nice if management would have stopped and discussed the matter but it must not have been in their mind as being necessary. I still tipped the server the usual percentage as I did not fault them. I am not sure at this point if I will go back as the order I received should never have left the kitchen as it was obliviously not a quality pice of meat and what seems to me as management indifference. read more

The food was quick to the table yet somehow mostly cold. Turkey was incredibly bland and was only saved by a good sauce. Brisket was mediocre and not hot, again only saved by the sauce. Waitress checked on the table once shortly after dropping off the food and then disappeared until we were ready for our check leaving one of our party with no drink refill. Oh, and I'd bet the Mac & cheese was just Stouffers. Definitely won't be going back. read more

Had prime rib sandwich. Terrible. Few pieces of unidentifiable meat smothered under mass of grilled unions. Meat was tough and tasteless except for excessive salt. Au jus was nothing but liquid salt. Not sure what this was but definitely not a prime rib sandwich. Saw several customers picking thru salad bar with bare hands. Avoid! Companion had brisket sandwich. I came down from Maryland to this area for a wedding. We were debating on going to the Southern pig and cattle because of the lower rating but we did. I have to say it some of the best ribs I've ever had in my life. I had a ribs and chicken combo. The half of rack of ribs good size. I would give this restaurant a 5+. The waiters were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. If we get a chance, we're going back there before we head back to Maryland . read more

My boyfriend and I came on a visit to Ocala with some friends, and was very satisfied with our stop here. Had the brisket sandwich on garlic bread with fries, which was sooo good! Our server Jeanie was top notch too, amazing service from her! She was very sweet and definitely added to our positive experience here. We finished it off with a free ice cream cone, which was another pleasant touch. Overall, we were itching for some good BBQ and this place definitely hit the spot! Decent southern food BBQ. Seated quickly. Friday night 6pm. Service was ok. A little loud. Wife got salad bar. Ma got pulled chicken. Service was good . Food came out at in decent time. I got the sandwich with garlic bread buns. But I was a little confused as the garlic bread was cut at an angle long and thin. Very hard to eat that as a sandwich. Should not offer garlic bread as a bun when it can't be used as a bun because of the cut. Not sure if that is normal or mine was a mistake. I used to Sonny's round G bread for a sandwich. Grandma likes it here so we tolerate it. I prefer Sonny's but wife does not care for either. read more

I've never eaten inside this restaurant. They are not far from where I live and I use the drive-through. I have not had a bad meal since I've been going there over the last six months or more. The staff are very friendly and I think the food is very well priced. I usually get a sliced roast pork sandwich with fresh corn on the cob and it's under $10. I eat out often and I clearly would recommend this place. I think the food is very tasty. Try it for yourself and then make the decision to go back or not! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We got the combo platter with pulled pork and brisket. The brisket was thinly sliced and super chewy and the pulled pork was a mashed up pile of stringy wet meat. The mac & cheese was OK potato salad was ehh. The potatoes were still hard. Had take out with friend 1/2 rack ribs chicken combo.with coleslaw.. $53.46 plus 2 sodas. 1/4 chicken was the smallest leg though I have ever seen, pigeon size for reference. No flavor no taste, a 1out of scale 1-10 with 10 being delicious.. the ribs were also very small , so over cooked looked burnt.. not very tasty.. 1 out of 10 on delicious scale with 10 being the best. got coleslaw with it, it was old old old, turning brown not fresh not 1-3 days old.. looked older , should not have been sold.. poor management is my guess but at $53.46 for terrible food I decided to post this. read more

BBQ is expensive, so you don't want to take chances. I have ordered dozens of meals from this place over the past couple of years and here is what I have on them. A solid average, let's say McDonalds quality. Never and I mean NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, buy their ribs. I am sorry, they are awful. The last plate (today) was the worst ribs I have had in Ocala - and that includes the reheated ribs that Fat Boys used to serve on their all you can eat before their relaunch. I still recommend sliced pork and pulled pork, it's good unremarkable fast food BBQ. Under all circumstances, keep their ribs, or any other more technical fare, as far out of your life as possible. Stopped for a late lunch. I ordered the half rack of baby back rib dinner and was quite disappointed! I received a generous portion of garlic bread and side. The ribs were tasty when I could locate the actual meat. The poor pig had to been starved! My rack was almost entirely bones! I mentioned this to my waitress and all she said was that she knew they were sparce but, they were tasty and the meat fell off the bone! No return visit from me. read more

We have eaten at hundreds of BBQ restaurants, so I feel like a pseudo expert! This place expanded to Maricamp from their original location. We decided to give it a try. My husband ordered the sliced pork and turkey with macaroni salad and potato salad. It came with a choice of garlic bread or cornbread. He chose the garlic bread. After reading previous reviews I was a bit hesitant to come here especially as a new comer to the area but I'm glad we gave it a chance last night. All you can eat salad bar 11.99. Nothing exceptional on the salad bar at all no meat only iceberg lettuce, only 3-4 dressing choices, ranch dressing was tasteless. Two soups, we had potato, not great just ok but much flavor! Asked for a grilled piece of chicken $4 extra got bbq.
