I had an amazing experience with Jenson at Southern Roots yesterday. I was looking for a litte bit of a refresher for me hair to go towards the ashier/grey tones and Jenson did that perfectly. My hair was getting too yellow from not being kept up for a while. She also completed in a timely manner and I had more than enough time to get to my job afterwards. She is so sweet and very talented. She knew exactly what I was looking for with a balayage and gave amazing shampoo and conditioner recommendations. I've gone to this salon several times. Two weeks ago I went to KATIA BAKER for highlights. She turned my hair purple/gray and said Oh it'll wash out. It DID NOT. I went back a few days later so she could put a toner on it. She put 4! I guess when she told me she had to redo a ladies hair she did the day before I should've ran !!!! I tried to call Courtney Flavin the owner to work it out and well it didn't happen. So I went in today to ask KATIA for my money back since I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed . And she called me a bitch and called the police on me????? This salon is out of control and they won't have your back if you're unhappy with the outcome ! BEWARE of this salon . read more

So disappointed in this salon! 1st visit: 2 hours for color appt to touch up roots. It took Lauren 3X putting on additional color to cover the grey. Then I was overcharged ($95- instead of $70-). I spoke with the owner Cynthia who actually screamed at me on the phone when I shared that I thought that I should be comped the visit as it took literally 3 tries and over 2 hours. Absolutely not interested in meeting me half way even. The owner told me I was threatening her as to writing a review or not being charged. Oh and one stylist told me that my grey wasn't being covered because it was a hormonal thing (that from Dani). Never in all the years that I have been going to a salon have I had an experience like this! In the end, my color looked ok and I did receive a nice haircut from Paige. If you are grey haired, I wouldn't suggest this salon. And if you're looking for great customer service; this is definitely not the salon for you as the culture is initiated from the top down (i.e. the owners) and Cynthia, as the owner of the salon; I can honestly say that you may want to revisit the concept of customer service. She completely changed the look of my hair and gave me the blonde I've always wanted. I always leave happy and feeling so good about myself. I would recommend Courtney for cut and color. To start on a positive note, my hair length was uneven so my stylist did a wonderful job on the cut. but the color was an absolute mess. it looked flawless when I left the salon (just for that one day) but every wash since then shows how bad she damaged my hair by leaving the color on too long because she was trying to do multiple clients hair at one time rotating us. my hair turned orange and is stringy and not healthy anymore. took weeks to get in touch with her just for her to tell me its all my fault that my hair looks bad and she doesn't know what to tell me. it was $110 and deff not worth my time or money. makes me very disappointed. read more

I went to Courtney flavin to get a simple balayage. I don't get a lot of time to go and get my hair done, so I chose natural root balayage so it could grow out and I wouldn't have to get my hair done so soon. Well, without asking she bleached ugly highlights into my hair?!?!? Now my roots are showing from the highlights growing out. I was so mad!!! Great that they had no customers when i needed my nail fill and pedicure. The owner and 2 girls that were there were cute and gossipy but were waiting for clients. How do they pay their bills?! I see why they have a remodeling sign on the door, looked like everything was run down. Black leather everywhere but all run down. Massage chairs were ripped and control pad has holes, couldn't read it even. Everything was so out of date and looked 50 years old. Good luck with the renovation, hope you get it done soon and by a professional. Your business will pick up quick and you will have a shop that is up to par like all your southern personalities, cute!.Thanks for taking me in with an appointment. Good think I'm retired without a heavy schedule because 2 hours for nails was a bit long altho you did an awesome job on the nails.
