The parking had check-in on arrival . Entering the cinema there was a quaint concession stand that supports local breweries, LOVE THAT ! I enjoyed a Kent Hills Pilsner "The Hollow"- a clean, crisp, and hoppy canned beer . Reasonable prices for freshly popped popcorn topped with REAL butter . Cookies , candies other goodies for sale. This cinema is a non profit organization run by some awesome people . It was a pleasure supporting such a wonderful event and local community.

Then we waited in a line to board the shuttle bus to take us to the Fairgrounds..about a 10 or so minute ride. Bag check before entering and paying $20 admission fee. It was crowded and proceeded to get more crowded as the hours passed. Lines for almost all vendors were very long. To get into the beer tent was extremely long so we did not even bother (plus ID must be shown and we did not bring ours). We ate a few things and all was expensive. The loaded tater tots were really good, although $14. Fried dough $12 and corn dog $8. Yikes. We caught a few songs when Styx performed. We visited the animals and some other exhibits. We played a few games, but they were so costly and all gave cheap prizes. Overall we did have a good time, but leaving was a nightmare. There were long lines to get to the shuttle buses to get back to the parking area. We waited at least 1 hour. All the vendors and exhibits had already closed. Once we were back at the parking lot it took another 40 min to get out! Not sure the crowds and expense are worth it, so not sure we will come again.

We still joke about the "Mini Cine" now that we're grown up and scattered across the country. It doesn't really compete with the bigger cinemas like Showcase or AMC. But that's not its intended market. Its niche is that it shows slightly older movies (movies released weeks ago) for a discounted price. Cine 1-2-3-4 is the area's only remaining "bargain" theater. Well, I haven't visited this place for years, up until two weeks ago. Boy was I disappointed. I might have been able to overlook the dimly lit and unkept parking lot and the uncomfortable seats if only the price of my ticket was much less. My price was $9 . I was surprised. And it's Cash Only. That's only $1 less than the bigger cinemas. Big woop-de-do. In my opinion, it's not worth the extra risk of having your car stolen (the cinema is right next to the "projects"). So the extra nicities of the other large cinemas are probably worth an extra dollar. They have better seating, better projectors, better parking, etc.. Typically I go to the Regal Cinemas in Branford, but this one time I wanted to watch a particular movie that was released months ago and only Cine 1-2-3-4 was playing it. That's really the only reason I will go to this cinema from now on. Its discounted price isn't really an attraction for me.

With that being said, remember that you are not going to get the best sound or seating or picture that you would at a newer facility. Seating is limited in that the best seats in the center of the theater are given up for an aisle. It is good for catching some movies which may be on their way out of other theaters; giving you a bit more time to see them if you needed it. Remember that this is a cash only establishment!

The movie we saw was pretty entertaining, too. We were in a small theater seating maybe 40 people including several for handicapped visitors. The seats recline easily and we liked that. There is a large attached swing arm that holds drinks and food. The concessions aren't cheap (were they ever?): Popcorn prices are between $9-13 depending on size, drinks $7 and $8. Free refills come with the largest sizes. Matinee tickets are $11. You can buy tickets online or at the theater. The men's restroom was spotless, the women's room a little less so, but not dirty. Overall a good experience.

I was really excited to give this theatre a try, but unfortunately I do not think we'll be back…read more Walking in it looks like a nice, clean theatre with ticket kiosks and a large snack selection. Our matinee movie ticket was $13. Candy was $6 per item. We passed on the popcorn. The bathrooms did not seem very clean, and one of the faucets was broken. Entering the theatre and walking up to our seats at the top, the stairs were soo dark I tripped, and we ended up having to use our flashlights to find our seats, because the row and numbers for the seats were missing (we were the only ones in the room at that point). We finally counted to where our seats were, and the recliners did not work. The leather was cracked. No one told us these seats were out of order. We tried some next to them, same thing. Thankfully it was not a busy showing and we were able to find seats that were unoccupied and working. But it seems crazy to me that they are ok selling a regular-priced ticket for a broken and cracked recliner. The overall quality and sound of the movie playing, however, was good.
