I just dumbly said, "uuuuhhh. I need some dry ice?" The gentleman asked what I was shipping and where it was going, so that he could determine the perfect amount of dry ice to help the wings and pizza make the journey from Connecticut to Maine. He then CUT the slabs of ice to the perfect size to fit the coolers, REPACKED the food, ADDED FOIL to the wings container to ensure they wouldn't get freezer burn and PLACED paper bags between the ice and the food to protect all the food. His job was to sell me a block of ice and that's it. Making it all work is MY job and MY problem. He went well above and beyond to create the quintessential customer service experience. Crystal Ice in Norwalk is much closer to my house but they can't even bother to answer their phone. The Ice House and it's friendly, helpful and intelligent team are well worth the drive. I will shop here again and recommend the Ice House very, very highly!

Checked Yelp and Armato Ice & Firewood Co. popped up. I messages the number at 8pm, and Tony responded within 15min. I explained the situation, and he apologized because he said my order was too small for a delivery (I only needed 5lbs), so I would have to pick up dry ice from their shop on E 88th Street. Cool, no problem. Next morning, 8:30 am, i went to business address to pick up 5lbs, and called Tony but he was stuck in rush hour traffic for another hour. He graciously offered to drop off dry ice to my hotel before noon, during their normal deliveries. Even though it was a small order, he understood my situation and cared enough to help me keep my food frozen for the next few days, so my PA family can enjoy authentic Samoan food. Places like Rite Aid in my building started stocking up on ice. This company is on notice 24 hours and will deliver it to your home or business. This morning the very friendly employees were loading the freezer in my neighborhood. These are well stocked for the delivery men to pick up the ice for delivery when you need ice. I'm telling you that if you have a picnic or big celebration you will have plenty of ice and it's delivered to your door. I'm recommending!

We had 130 people. Lenny confirmed how much ice I needed based on the number of guests and was very flexible in his delivery time. It was after hours so I used the vending machine, which malfunctioned and short-changed me $5.00. I called the posted number and left a message, which was returned by Mr. Swift within an hour. He asked me to stop by sometime and they would refund the money. Today I stopped by during business hours to get another bag of ice and I asked for Bob Swift so I could get credit for the $5.00. After waiting about 5 minutes, he walked by and said he had a million things to do and anybody could help me. He continued into the office while I waited another 10 minutes for someone to help me. Finally, I heard him say to a young guy in the office, "go give this guy whatever money he stole from me and get rid of him". We are small business owners and I cannot imagine treated a customer like that, even if they were in the wrong (which I was not). The way Mr. Swift acted is inexcusable and I strongly recommend against patronizing this business.
