I highly recommend Southland pest control. (I've been with them for over a year) I'm currently under their bi-monthly service and I'm loving it. Every session they would wack down all my roof webs and potential wasp nest and spray their coating around the building. Let me tell you this. It is so satisfying coming out of the house and seeing dead bug that went near my house. It just shows that what they are doing works. (Definitely for me and my house). I'm a little late on writing this review, but I wanted to give an honest review by waiting at least a year. After renting it out since 2008, we moved back into our current home 2 years ago and were shocked by the pest infestation -- particularly FLEAS. I lived in the Philippines, Nigeria and Florida, and never saw such a literal insect plague. It doesn't help that we live in the other side of absolute wilderness, with flea-carrying animals like bears, coyotes, raccoons, skunks and field rats regularly come around to go through our trash or even take a dip in the pool -- and probably drop off fleas by the thousands. We hired two pest control companies and stuck with them until recently, paying over $80 per treatment every 2 weeks. And that's when Southland Pest Control came to save the day. This company did in one treatment what two other national brands absolutely failed to accomplish in 2 years. Southland Pest Control evaluated our situation, figured out that the other two companies strategies (and more importantly, how and why they failed) and then determined what would actually work for our property. And then they must have sent in some kind of rabid devil dog Marine company because the fleas are WIPED OUT. Needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Southland Pest Control. The guy who owns the company knows his stuff and is both humble AND professional. We have Argentine ants- which are relentless and very hard to deal with. We use Southland Pest Control to help us with ants every summer. They do a great job, and if we see any ants, they always come back and make sure that we are completely ant-free. We also hired them to tent our house for termites. They did a great job. We've been customers of Southland Pest Control for over 2 years. We haven't had ANY pests since having their service. They are so efficient. They had reminded me by text that today was our regular outdoor service day but we had workers coming to install flooring so they gladly said they'd reschedule. UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS PRACTICES - I would feel guilty recommending this company to my worst enemy. In addition to our house, there are three other structures on our property: a playhouse several yards away, and two sheds. One of the sheds is about 3 feet away from the house, and the other a mere 18 inches. We saw what we believed to be termite activity under the wall closest to the house of the closest shed, which prompted our call to this company in the first place. We were told in person that the playhouse wouldn't be fumigated, but due to the proximity of the sheds to the house, they would HAVE to be. Unfortunately we were naive and took their word for it, and didn't ensure to get that word-for-word in writing. On the quote, they had written that external structures would not be included, but after again asking for clarification in person before vacating the premises, we were told that the only "external structure" the quote was referring to was playhouse, and that the sheds would be included. Fast forward to less than 6 months later - we saw more termite poop in the same spot under the same shed as before (the one that's only 18 inches from the house), and as the company offers a 2-year warranty, we reached out to them. Instead of telling us that the sheds were, in fact, not fumigated nor covered under the warranty, they sent a tech out to try and sell us on paying an additional $500 to treat that one shed. read more

So apparently asking questions during an inspection means they 'don't want to take the job'. My husband was not rude, disrespectful or difficult in anyway but the representative failed to answer basic questions and just 'opted' out of doing any work. Oh and by the way- they took the $85 fee to come out and did absolutely nothing. Great waste of our time. I am extremely disappointed and upset- I waited a week to have this inspection done only to be taken. I absolutely don't recommend this company. read more

Very unprofessional in how they interact with their customers. I've been with them now for a while and have been giving them chances. They keep on rescheduling regularly. They do not show up often or they will show up outside the time window they determine. They also promise products that they do not have to provide. They promised to provide us with a bait a month ago that they still till this day have not placed. Simply put, bad business, terrible service, and worse customer care. I had used Southland once years ago when sow bugs infested my garden and so I drove over to southland. Marcelo was kind, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. He was also so nice to my sons. Very poor management. I needed a termite inspection. First, I requested an appointment through their website, no response. I then called to schedule an appointment on a Tuesday, which I took time off work to have them over. On that Tuesday, when no one showed up as scheduled, I called to verify. A lady said they have no record of any appointment and their technician is busy, but might be able to fit my inspection on the same day. So she will give a call-back later that day to reschedule. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting for the call-back.. I can't testify as to their quality of work. But the quality of service is subpar to say the least. Be aware. read more

I have been a customer of theirs for many years now and have always had the best experience with everyone I have interacted with. There was some miss communication from the person that answers the phone with the pricing and yelp deal thats offered. When daunte came out to spray, he was very informative, And took care of my problem. We were infested with spiders, he removed all of the cobwebs from the exterior of the home. Had a pest control problem. I called Orkin and they wanted 89 dollars to just look for a possible problem that I already knew existed (dumb). Call southwest they did show up no charge. Basically just talked which is what I wanted but also gave me option and more information which is exactly what I wanted. So why the Two Star review?? The tech did "promise" a lot of things they never came about. Such as a follow up phone call, some protection covers (which I advised I wanted ASAP) and most importantly a call for a price on a tent for possible fumigation. So far so good... We had insane ant problems and found Marcello on yelp. He has great communication and is very fast to follow up. Huge Star Wars fan, that always helps... He came out, was very clear and answered all questions. He finished faster than expected and made sure we knew we could reach him easily if any issues arose. We signed up for bimonthly spraying to keep the pests away and it's a nice peace of mind knowing the issue will be kept up with updates prior.
