Smashed pulled pork w/ coleslaw.
Roger K.

I was surprised to see the place almost empty when we stopped in for lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Our party of three was promptly greeted and directed to our choice of tables set and ready for customers. We were slow in making our menu selections as we were preoccupied with conversation anticipating the southern departure of the Snowbird in our party. Staff were very patient and understanding. The menu offers a nice variety of choices that extend from pub food to sandwiches and salads, many with a slight twist in preparation. Entrees are apparently offered during dinner hours. My wife ordered the Humus Wrap ($17), identified as a vegan's delight. She did not believe the humus offered much flavor, tasting mostly the onions, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, and peppers. But then she's not a vegan so, while she said the wrap was pleasant, she shouldn't have expected to be delighted. Our Snowbird chose a Steak Gyro ($18) with grilled naan, dressed greens, red onion, cucumber, tomato, roasted garlic aioli, pickled red onion, and fresh herbs. That sounds like a lot, and it was. The snowbird was very pleased with the meal, enjoying the combination of flavors. I wanted to find out how the Pulled Pork Sammy ($17) was going to be served as the online dinner menu offered it as the South Street Smasher. It turns out they take crispy, slow-roasted, local pork shoulder compressed and shaped like a burger and smashed on the flattop to serve on a toasted bun with their house BBQ and coleslaw. The pork was moist and flavorful. Adding the coleslaw and pickle slices to the Sammy gave a nice blend of texture and flavors. A very enjoyable sandwich. We all were severed hand-cut French fries with our meals. As is frequently the case at most restaurants, they were hot and excellent when served, but just OK once they cooled. I'd be interested in returning for dinner sometime when I'm in the area to try the ramen, a burger, or maybe even the poutine.

Came in for a beer, stayed for dinner :) I took advantage of their restaurant week menu while I sat at the bar, and I am so glad I did! Beer list is decent and so is the food! Tried the hush puppies and chicken scarpiello from the restaurant week menu and I saved the beignets for later. All items did not disappoint in the least and another huge plus is that all ingredients are locally sourced! Check this spot out if you're in Glens Falls and would like a yummy bite. Service and ambiance are ahmazing, and for sure I'll be returning!

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. I wanted to love southpaw the way I loved craft on 9 when they were in their original spot in south glens falls. I only made it to craft on 9 once after they moved locations and it sadly just wasn't nearly as good. That said, southpaw is a step up, so that's encouraging. I think they opened fairly recently so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they get through growing pains. We shared the hummus platter and enjoyed that. Plenty of of veggies with grilled bread and a nicely presented schmear of hummus on a board. I didn't mind the grilled bread but there was a complaint that it was "kinda burnt". I had the wings for my main and opted for grilled. They were well cooked but the sauces were not as flavorful as I had hoped. I found them somewhat bland. Reviews on the burger were "decent" and the fries were really good (I stole several). Fried chicken review was also "good" but my friend didn't care for the sides that came with the chicken. Friendly service; food took quite a while. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but by the time we left the dining area was more than half full, so it was getting noisy. It's a nice space but there's nothing to absorb the sound. We will give southpaw another shot again down the road.

We met friends for dinner at Cleome with very high expectations due to lots of positive chatter…read moreabout it. The bar area and wall garden are extremely cool. It's a fairly small space so definitely make reservations if you're planning on going during busier dinner hours. Service was decent - it was a little confusing and disjointed at times but I chalked that up to some inexperience (the server seemed a bit green) and that it's a fairly new restaurant. We had read somewhere that it was small plates - more like tapas...but then was explained that it's "family style". This is what caused said confusion at the table since "family style" to the four of us meant large, sharable portions. So, we just ordered a bunch of stuff in waves since we didn't really know how much food we were going to need. Some items arrived quickly, others took a very long time. Standout dishes to me were the Brussels sprouts and the apple cobbler dessert (which I just had a little taste of). I found some of the accompanying crackers odd - I think they were Ritz brand or something like that? We did request a few gluten free crackers and were brought a few. The swordfish was on the dry side - that's a tricky protein to get right. The fried chicken was served as cutlets - so some of the items were more difficult to share vs. others. The shrimp salad cups were somewhat unremarkable and a bit too loaded with mayo (in my opinion). The shishito peppers were nice - I think I was the one at the table that enjoyed those the most. We did linger at our table for a long time - a combination of wait times and good conversation with friends. We never felt rushed or pressured to leave (there wasn't a wait or line for tables). All in all, we had a nice time at Cleome and will likely give it another try at some point - now that we know what to expect

Three entrees: Tried the Lobster Mac and Cheese again and it was MUCH better than previously reported! That was great as was the fried chicken- soooo good. My burger unfortunately didn't arrive until after everyone else at the table was done with their meals. Oh bother.... it tasted meh and it's clear they are using a very low fat ground beef which made the burger more like a tasteless hockey puck. Still, everything else was wonderful and the background music was audible and made the experience even better. The Egg nog cocktail we had at another visit a few days before was delish. Despite my burger, we were please with our experience. I can only hope that they reconsider their low fat ground beef for something a little more tasty and juicy. Recommended.

We discovered Morgan & Co. a couple of years ago and it's been one of our go-to places ever since. I'd read about Mint and people liked it a lot so we went there for brunch/lunch a few days ago. It did not disappoint. We had the opportunity to check it out following a wake in Queensbury. Our drinks were very good. My Limoncello Spritzer really hit the spot. My husband was delighted that his Bloody Mary did not include any olives (lol). However, $18 is steep for tomato juice, folks. We shared the Brussel Sprouts as a Starter. Both of us ordered the Crab and Scallop Cake Benny which was topped with hollandais, served on a bed of arugula and accompanied by tasty potatoes. Absolutely delicious! Our server was very nice. She seemed to be handling a lot of the tables and managed it well. We were not rushed nor did we feel neglected. It's a small place, cozy and welcoming. Love the china. There is a parking lot and also street parking. The menu is limited. If you have fussy eaters, you may want to check it out online before making a reservation (which is recommended). I would have given them 4-1/2 but the system doesn't allow it. We will definitely return.

This warm cocktail was a total delight and absolutely hit the spot. We started with the house bread. I know it sounds like "just bread," but the texture was perfect, and the ricotta honey spread paired with it nicely. For entrées, I had the chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and well-executed, and the beurre blanc was silky and rich. I think it would have been even better with spaetzle, but the portion size was generous on its own--I'm just a starch girlie. My husband ordered the bolognese, which was flavorful and came in a healthy portion. He ended up taking some home, which we love because leftovers are never a bad thing. For dessert, we shared the pot de crème. The balance of caramel, saltiness, and chocolate was the perfect finish. The chocolate was rich and smooth. I also loved the décor--it was such a pleasant surprise to find a place like this in South Glens Falls.

Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. Service was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.

Other than that, we loved the food and Texas atmosphere. Country music playing, friendly service, and delicious food and aroma. My wife was disappointed with the very weak pour of a Jamo & Ginger with a high price and their craft beer selection was very limited and only in bottles so I wouldn't recommend the bar at all, but the restaurant was great. I was surprised about the craft beer though considering there are several local breweries with amazing brews that they could have on tap. Really a lost opportunity for both sides.
