So, cool story. Before I owned both the home inspection company and Turnkey property solution business I currently run; in a past life I worked as car salesman and as a service writer for many years. That being said I know more of the inner workings of a dealership than most and am knowledgeable about the profit and loss margins and the best ways and timeframes to make a purchase. My companies are growing and I was looking for a very specific vehicle at a different brand dealership closer to my location who was offering what is considered an A-tier rebate program. The sales manager would not simply run the A-tier program that the corporate entity strictly enforces and he kept trying to hide little things in the offer to double dip for more front end gross. I don't nit pick or haggle when there is a deal on the table especially when I know the margins and the program, I own two businesses and understand that profit is never bad as long as there is transparency. Fast forward a few days and I found a Truck online at Hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC Southpoint I looked up the staff online and saw my former associates Carlos Aragao and sales manager Geoffrey Edwards Both great guys. Carlos very quickly confirmed the Truck was on the lot I communicated with him what I was looking for due to tax claims and wanted to make sure the truck met the weight rating needs for the best outcome for making a section 179 deduction and also fulfilling my operational needs. Geoffrey worked the current promo program for all it was worth. Carlos was warm, friendly, laid back and best of all transparent and stayed longer than he should have sacrificing his personal time. Geoff has the calmest demeanor on the surface of anyone you will ever meet he makes you feel at home even when making a mid level purchase decision. He really tries to advocate rebate programs to get every customer the best outcome during a purchase decision. Underneath the calm you can tell his gears are always turning trying to find the win-win and I can honestly say not only as a previous co-worker 14 years removed from the industry they handled my deal no different than they would have handled any other as I have seen them from both sides of the fence. They were even patient with me as I neurotically double and triple checked numbers because let's face it, it's still a car deal. Once we came to terms the back end finance office was a party With Ryan Desmond. We stayed way too late just chatting and having a big ol' time. I wound up purchasing a modified version of the HAART platinum extended warranty protection because I do put unusually high mileage on all of my service vehicles in a relatively short time so for me I know that the right extended plan can actually bring real value. I don't leave many reviews because I very transparently over communicate, but when the service is this good it should be shouted from the roof tops. Go see Carlos Aregao if you want an open, honest, and chill experience. Go to a different place if you don't value transparency and accountability at all levels. If I could give my experience an 11 out of 10 I would; however, if 5 stars is all I can give here they are. read more

RUST RUST RUST! I would be cautious buying a Chevy or working with Hendrick. I bought a new Chevy Colorado five years back, the car only has 30,000 miles on it and I take good care of it. I recently found out my driver door has begun rusting through, the paint is flaking along the inner door, this is way more than a normal 'paint defect'. Hendrick has told me this is not under warranty and apparently considered normal based on my conversation with them. It's never been 'up north' or dealt with anything other than NC roads. They claimed they would work with Chevy on a 'Special Claim' but they will not return my calls and brush me off each time I get someone on the line. It's pretty poor service for this new vehicle with significant rust forming. If this was an exposed area that could have taken damage of some form, I could maybe understand some of their arguments, but its the inside of my door panel. Basically, for all you new car buyers this year, just a small warning of what you might have to deal with in the future here at Hendrick and Chevy. read more

Made an appointment at 9am. My Tahoe was dropped off around 8am that morning. By 5:15pm I hadn't heard a word from them. I called them and they said they weren't even able to get my car in for the diagnostic scan. My wife and I shared our only other car all day while they did nothing with my Tahoe. It was on Friday so I went back so it didn't just sit there all weekend cause they said they couldn't get to it during the weekend and they didn't even act like they cared when I got back to pick it up. I wish I could give a zero because I would. This is pertaining to the service center. I dropped my truck off on Sunday evening for an 8:30am appointment Monday morning. As I stated the utmost importance of my truck not being down for any unnecessary amount of time as this is my work truck/livelihood, I was told the truck shouldn't take more than 1 day, 2 at the most. I proceeded with renting a work van on a day by day basis as my truck only needs 2 glow plugs changed and my intermittent key fob issue diagnosed. I called at 8:30am Monday requesting to speak to my advisor (Dave) regarding the truck and a piece of mail I received regarding a recall. -Should we go ahead and fix that while they have it? I dare not ask now as it's been 3 days and nobody has returned "any" of my calls, messages or voicemails. I've emailed the service manager and apparently he's out of the office for a week. Ive tried the assignment manager (Chris May) and to no surprise I've not heard from him either. Edit; I finally heard from Dave and was informed they haven't even touched my truck. I know I'm not the only customer that needs service. I know I'm not the only person that deserves a call back. I get it! I am a very reasonable person but I'm getting nothing and that's no way to do business! In the meantime my daily rental would have been much cheaper by the week, had I known. You shouldn't take on more work than you can handle and you should schedule more efficiently. I hate dealership games as I've heard the horror stories most of my life. This was a first for me and to the best of my ability I'll make sure this is my last time visiting a dealership service center! read more

Thought I'd try them for an oil change yet again and attitude from my advisor Alyssa. Made a 1030am appointment and now after 5 pm they haven't even looked at it my car and act like it's my problem I'm here sitting in the waiting room. Never again. Don't come here. This place will lie to you about when your car will be ready. They prioritize getting people in for service instead of actually fixing the cars. My saga goes a little like this: First, they let me schedule an appointment online for diagnostics for a Saturday. They called to confirm my appointment, and lo and behold, when I called them back, they told me they don't do diagnostics on a Saturday. Why that wasn't mentioned in the message, I have no idea. Next, I go to drop my car off (early on a Friday now), and I'm told it'll take the day to diagnose, but I'll get a call back and I can go over the quote with them. I don't hear back on Friday, and of course they don't do diagnostics on Saturday, but I call anyways to try and get an update. I'm told that all that's been done is my car has been assigned a service technician. Finally, I'm really annoyed, but I just wait some more, and I get a call on Tuesday (midday), and I'm told I magically have all these issues that I didn't go in for, and the main diagnostic I needed from the dealership (an electronics issue) wasn't even done! It's absolutely ridiculous what they can get away with just because they're a dealership. I will fully, wholeheartedly, never return. Update: I still won't be going back, but I bumped it up to 3 stars (from 1) because the manager called me after my scathing survey and refunded me $100 of the diagnostic fee. I was at Duke Medical for a family member's surgery when the car's check engine light came on. I did not have time to waste. I went to the diagnostic area and within a few minutes Mark was able to show me the problem was a small sensor that did not affect the vehicle's safe driving ability and I was able to leave quickly to be with my family member in the ICU. Mark was extremely helpful and gave me a print out of the issue to fix at a later date. Thanks Mark!! read more

Make sure you get a print out of your paperwork that is your legal binding agreement. You have 3 days, by law you can take this vehicle back. Popped into Hendricks Chevy GMC after work to put my eyes on this lovely Silverado 2500 that had captured my attention online, and I was not disappointed. Let me be clear, they didn't have the truck I was looking for but instead I was introduced to this GMC and honey I might have a crush. From the minute I walked in I was greeted warmly by one the sales managers (Matt) who then introduced me to Luke, who proceeded to help me out for the duration of my visit. Luke was absolutely wonderful, he was knowledgeable, patient and honestly took me on one of the best test drives I've ever experienced - and I've been known to test out a vehicle. While at the end of the night, I didn't find what I was looking for, I can assure you that had it been there, I would have loved to give them my business. When I purchased my 2020 Bolt there was a small scratch on the dashboard. I asked if the scratch could be fixed as a condition of my buying the vehicle, and they agreed. They ended up having to replace the entire dashboard and remove all the front trim panels in the process. When I got the vehicle back it looked terrible. There were gaps between all the pieces, even a piece of material sticking out of the a-pillar cover. I brought it back in for them to redo the work.. they had it for a week. After I examined the vehicle there was no change whatsoever, except the material sticking out of the a-pillar had been fixed. The service manager and sales manager told me they couldn't do any better and that I'd have to go open a support case with GM. After weeks of talking to a GM customer support rep (it took weeks because she could never get the service manager on the phone) the regional manager of GM called Hendrick only to have the service manager tell him I don't have any problem. The GM regional manager decides there's nothing wrong, even after I sent him the pictures. Case closed! I'm now considering paying out of pocket to have someone else look at it. Overall, this dealership is really bad at answering the phone, they rarely call with updates, they will say anything to make you go away. Most of this occurred before COVID-19; of course I don't currently expect them to answer the phone immediately or have a full staff on site. read more

I've never had an issue with my Terrain. I came here to get my oil changed, and they told me I need a $1700 part replaced. There became a noise that my vehicle has started making since being serviced here, and now my AC has went out and my fuel efficiency is low. I am unsure what this location has done to my vehicle after all these years of having it, but I will never return. Zero stars wouldn't be low enough. *Scheduled oil change and tire rotation for 9:30a a week in advance (Buick side of the dealership) *Waited in the lounge area. *Saw people come in after me leave before me (maybe they had something easier than an oil change?) * 11:23 the car is ready YAY! * Reminded the service desk about a coupon. He fixed the total no problem. * Went to leave and noticed I did not receive complimentary car wash and vacuum. * I asked about it and the guy said they hand wash all the cars and so it would require an additional hour to complete this task. No offer to prioritize the service considering I've been waiting about 2 hours. * Got the car back in exactly one hour. The car was vacuumed and washed Total time was a little under 3 hours for oil change, tire rotation and "forgotten" complimentary car wash and vacuum. This seems a little long for me. I purchase a Buick Enclave here in 2019 and was very satisfied. The buying process was easy, the staff was great, I love my car. However, since that time, this company has bombarded me with phone calls. They call to try and sell me on things, to get services, to get me to trade in my car, etc. I ask on every single one of these calls that I answer to please remove me from their call list, and every time the person on the phone assures me that I will be removed. Yet the calls do not stop. For example, I received a call on 1/16/2025, my phone even marked it as potential spam, but I still answer it. It was Hendricks, I asked AGAIN to be removed from the call list. Today, 1/30/2025, just two weeks later, I received yet another call. I even went as far to tell them I no longer live in the area, which is not true, but I am desperate at this point. I have tried blocking numbers, but the call from different ones. I went from a happy customer to one who would not only never spend another single cent here, but I warn every person I know looking for a new car not to go here unless you feel like being harassed for years to come. I don't know what they hope to accomplish by treating customers this way, but who ever came up with this "marketing" tactic needs to be fired. read more

If you want to waste your time, go here. I had a long conversation before scheduling my car to get work done. We had warranty on the vehicle that was third party. I called to warranty and discussed with them all of my issues. They stated everything would be covered. A couple of things wouldn't be - but that's why I called them so I didn't waste the GMC dealership time. So re cap, everything is covered. Called and scheduled to drop off the car. Did so after hours. Get a call the following morning, saying that they would have to charge me for diagnosing if warranty didn't cover. $200 an hour. (That's ridiculous in and of itself) so I told them about how I talks to the warranty people. Alyssa read her little script about how the car will be parked outside. After asking if they had talked to the warranty company, as I left all the paperwork in the car, she read her little script again. Long story short, after calling and discussing and then saying that they could do it all, dropped the car off and then they decided they didn't want to even try to communicate with warranty and get it worked out. So here is the first positive review I have ever done on a dealership, EVER! (The second will be on Bobby Murray Toyota where I bought a brand new Corolla over 20 years ago.) My beloved Corolla was stolen this year by some teens who wanted to joyride, and ended up ruining the engine. Car's a total loss. I visited a few dealerships in Durham, three in fact. And decided never again. Southpoint Chevrolet impressed me, however. First, someone answered the phone! That person was knowledgeable (Ryan) and was sympathetic to my situation. He wanted to help give me a positive experience with a dealership. So Kyle (points for being from Rocky Mount, NC), drove over a Spark for me to take a look at, and drive. Even offered to let me have it overnight, but I don't have car insurance, since I don't own a car at the moment. So that didn't work out. However, he did let me drive the car and explained the features. The Spark is un-complicated and easy to drive. I appreciated Kyle's great manners, most of all. Along with his easy going attitude and relatability (he gets a 5 on that one!) I especially enjoyed getting to know Kyle, and his knowledge about the features, mechanics and the safety of the Spark. When I called to have some repairs done on another Chevrolet truck that I own and requested a call back with an estimate after setting up an appointment to have it done a week later no one still called when I return a call to them to request an estimate again they still failed to call. So I asked the general manager to give me a call and still no one ever bothered to call so I decided I cancel that repair service with them and take it to a Chevrolet dealership elsewhere that could really appreciate someone that spends $50,000 with their company. read more

Horrible experience ever!!! Took my truck for service the first time for a popping noise coming from the engine and they told me it was the water pump so they went ahead and replace it. It took them more than a MONTH to apparently order the new pump and replace it. And after waiting for a whole month to get my truck back , the next day that I went to pick it up the truck , it did the SAME noise I took it for. I called the guy that was helping me to tell him the problem wasn't fix and he never pick up or never gave me a call back after leaving them a voicemail. So i took my truck again to them again a month later so see if they could fix the problem this time and try to give them a chance again. So when I got there I'm told them exactly where the popping noise was coming back and when the noise starts and they just told me that , that was going to help them a lot. So I was pretty confident this time that they were finally going to fix the problem but NO. This time they had my truck for even more time , almost TWO months and they told me that it was the thermostat this time but no. The next day when I picked up the truck and went to work the SAME popping noise started again. Really disappointed with Hendrick Chevrolet , i took my truck to them cause I thought they knew what they were doing and cause they apparently are "certified technicians and have the experience and knowledge to work on all makes and models" but no. Bought my car here and that was a nightmare. Dealing with the salesmen was so frustrating, it brought my partner to tears. We had coupons/promotions to use and they were against saving us money that they tried to find loopholes that were invalid. To buy a car here and not be swindled, you need to be very assertive and intelligent. Really, you should buy your Chevy anywhere else. Since then, I've gotten my oil changed here a few times. It was satisfactory originally, but over the past 3 years, it consistently takes at least 2 hours WITH an appointment. The "head" person in the service area does not wear a mask. It is concerning with 1 in 5 are currently testing positive. Furthermore, every time I've come here (over the past two years), this "head" person is on the phone discussing solving an issue where the dealership are a situation worse or created a problem and is telling the customer they need to pay to fix it, when the dealership caused the problem. With all this said, I will be getting my oil changed at AAA from now on. I can't keep coming here for my sanity and would encourage others to do the same. read more

Took my volt in for a recall. Just a reprogram. My car has been making a squealing noise when the gas engine turns off after charging the battery. I asked them to find out what the noise is. I wanted to wait and eat my lunch while they worked on my car but they didnt even have a microwave for customers to use. So I took a Lyft home and waited about 3hrs. The service rep finally called me and says, "your car is done." That's it. He didn't even tell me what the problem was. I had to ask. Then he says, "oh the tech doesnt think it will make this noise now that we did the recall." I had tried to charge my car at work earlier that day and go a message telling me it could not charge. I told the rep this. They did the reprogam and then plugged it in and it charged so they assumed it fixed my charging problem. I found out later that the chargers ar work were broken and the recall had nothing to do with it. When I asked about the squealing noise the rep told me, "well now that the charging problem is fixed, the engine will run less so it shouldn't be a problem." What? I asked if they even looked for it and he said no. That is not how you diagnose a car. I asked him to take it back and find out what the noise is. They after another hour or so he calls me back and says they dont hear it. Well since they had plugged the car in and charged it, the gas engine would not be cycling, so it wasnt makjng the noise obviously. At that point I was so tired of dealing with this place I just went and got my car. When I picked it up the rep told me I should make a video recording with my phone to capture the sounds. THAT IS YOUR JOB! I've purchased a oil change and tire rotation with them, and I will see if it can be transferred to another dealership, but once it is done, I will noy.be going back to this place. read more

Caveat emptor! My sister went to purchase a car from this dealership last night and instead was the recipient of disrespect and condescension at the hands of the sales and financing staff. The salesman spent the entirety of her test drive explaining the most common sense objects in the vehicle (that the green phone icon was how you answer a call, how to operate the push button start, etc). This may have been excusable if not for the fact that she told him what kind of vehicle she was currently driving, a 2010 Mini Cooper, a modern vehicle with a push button start of its own. Still, after deciding on the vehicle she wanted to purchase, my sister let the salesman know and went in to speak with the financing manager. From here the disrespect continued. Despite the fact that she told the financing manager the monthly payment she was looking to stay within and number of months she did not want to exceed, her requests were disregarded as he brought everything but the terms she asked for. I understand that in the car sales business, customers aren't always able to get the terms they seek. That's business. Giving people the run around? Repeatedly telling them what they don't understand? That's unprofessional and not good business at all. I am writing this review because I am hoping someone in the establishment will see it and make a change. The best case scenario with these tactics is that the business loses money and loses potential customers because they are savvy enough to realize they do not have to put up with the treatment they are receiving. Worst case scenario is that people are taken advantage of and exploited by unscrupulous sales people. read more

I would give them less stars but I can't. I dropped off my Leased vehicle and forgot my garage door opener because of all the confusion due to no one understanding the return release procedure. I called to ask if they had found the Garage door opener to Guest Services and was told they would speak to Manager and would call me right back with an answer. I waited 4 hours and called back, only to be told that when the vehicle goes to detailing they throw everything in trash that is found in car. Really, great customer relations. I placed an order at the Cary dealership first. So I emailed the Southpoint dealer I was working with to get a refund of my 5K deposit about 4 weeks ago and no response. So I called Southpoint to get a refund on May 28, 2021, at 11:14 AM and was told the dealer I was working with, quit. They assure me that someone will contact me to get me a refund. A week goes by without any contact so I called once again on Jun 3, 2021, 4:24 PM, and talked to Milford. Once again I was assured that someone will contact me. No surprise......no contact in 4 days. I then sent an online message on their website for a refund on June 7th. After 48 hours still no response. So looks like I may have to do more work to get a refund. I am glad that I ordered from Cary and not Southpoint with this kind of customer service. I shouldn't work this hard to get a refund. The Hendrick upper management needs to address this issue at Southpoint. Pretty sad. Next stop BBB and to Hendrick upper management! read more
