I came here for two surprise bag pick up orders a couple of days ago. It was a fast pick up and the food was nearby to the cashier. In my orders came two ham sandwiches, two tuna sandwiches, a slice of marble cake and a slice of coconut cake. Am I the biggest fan of coconut? Not at all, but it was actually tolerable. The marble cake was alright as well. Want some honesty? Neither of these types of cake are my fave, nor do I particularly like cake. I don't hate cake, but if I could only have it once a year for whatever absurd reason, I'd be quite alright. That said, these baked goods would probably be delightful to someone who likes cake. Also, this place is like a small coffee shop setting that serves light breakfast items (you're not getting pancakes here) and lunch, closing at 2 PM daily. The tuna sandwich was good. Fair. I think it must be quite hard to mess up a tuna sandwich considering the easily ingredients, so it's what you'd expect. I especially liked that they served it on a brioche roll, my favorite. Now let's talk about location. I imagine people that live and work around here are the average customers. If you're interested in trying it out, it's about two blocks down from Lake Merritt Bart and across the street from OMCA. Parking is a hit or miss.

This review comes a few months late, but I had bought a Too Good to Go surprise bag for Eden Plaza Cafe. It came with a pastry (a Danish), soup (I believe it was minestrone or something similar, it tasted vegetarian) and a sandwich. All of the food was decent quality, though not mindblowing, and tasted fresh. I felt it was a good value for the price. (I haven't seen them on Too Good to Go lately, so they might've discontinued particpating in the app, but the cafe is definitely still open.) I appreciate that they offer a variety of foods including baked goods, sandwiches, burritos, and drinks at reasonable prices. The cafe is pretty small but they have a little bit of outdoor seating right outside.

When I do come by Edens, its when I need a quick bite or I don't feel like walking too far from work. Its a decent cafe that serves various kinds of bites: Bagels, sandwiches, burritos, tacos, pastas, salads, and im sure im missing a few other things but hopefully you get the gist. Oh, and how can I forget they also serve coffee and espresso drinks. For the amount of times Ive gone to Edens, Ive gotten mixed experiences; some days are better than others but overall pretty consistent. For example: Some days my bagel is more burnt than usual or theres barely any cream cheese or the meat in my sandwich is less than usual But im not going to let those occasional days bring down the star rating. Its a decent cafe and itll get you what you need for food.

Food not good, pricey and skimpy on the cream cheese. Bagel not really toasted. Check out the pic! Owner rude threw my items in the bag and didn't even say hello. I can imagine how he treat his staff.

The lady who made my salad was super sweet. The man who runged me up didn't even say hello, repeated my order or voiced out my total. He simply symboled with his hand to give him my card. He didn't even ask me if I wanted a receipt. No words out if his mouth to me whatsoever. Super rude. The worse part about this whole scenario was that I found two bugs in my salad after eating almost half of the plate. I wanted to throw up. Pictures attached for reference. (The bug on the right looks like seasoning but I promise you it's definitely NOT. ItJaír soaked in dressing.) I definitely won't go back there.. bummer because it's close to work too. Check your food when you buy from here, or just don't risk it and make yo own! (I should've brought lunch!)

Eden Plaza Cafe is a deli on 11th and Madison. They have a variety of sandwiches, baked goods, homemade salads and even burritos. Their food is tasty and their staff are pretty responsive. I especially like their breakfast croissants with eggs, cheese and sausage. There's a good amount of sausage offered, and unlike a lot of delis which just use standard cheddar cheese you can choose what cheese they use, I usually use pepperjack. I've also enjoyed their sandwiches, I have an affinity for Reuben sandwiches. I've also liked their seafood salad sandwich. They also have good homemade salads, including pasta salads. There aren't a lot of food options in that immediate area and I work nearby, so I check this place out when I'm looking for a quick and good lunch.

    Too Good to Go

Picked up Too Good to Go and it was a container of salad and 2 smaller containers of pasta salad. The food was average, nothing special to write about. I wish it had more variety but it is ok. The service was fast, ready for pick up.

The interior makes one feel that you are in a high end cafe with its beautiful decor. Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty. Highly recommend to stop by Sanaa Cafe and experience it. Their website shows more cafe openings in the future!

Suggested great recommendations. they had told me this is not the first sana'a cafe -- there are 10 other locations around the bay. this cafe, in particular, is great for work or even to sit down and sip some coffee. it is spacious -- with great amount of sunlight. when you go at golden hour -- its perfection. although the cafe is great, my chai wasn't so much. it lacked in flavor and wasn't iced the way I would prefer it to be. but I'd still definitely give this place a try again -- maybe a coffee this time around, haha.

I loved the ambiance, it felt we was in another country. The place was packed I have no idea where everyone parked haha. Very hard to find parking. The Adeni Chai I had was wonderful and I would get again. The lemon pastries I had were good & I would possibly get again. Both cheese pastries & meat pocket I didnt care for so much. I undetstand they are an acquired taste but me being Middle Eastern we have our own versions and I think that's why I didn't like as much. I would definitely go back and try more sweet pastries. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.
