Burger, onion rings & house salad for under $20. Food is ok. Not bad and not amazing. This my third or fourth time here in the past 12 or so years. Usually, if I want a burger instead of popcorn chicken and their other food at Teahouse while getting boba next door I'll go here. Service here could be better. When asked to cut something in half, they don't do it for you. You can find some plastic knives to do it yourself near their self serve water jug.

Tbh this place is so good. The waffle fries are hit or miss but the burgers are like classic and fresh and idk how to describe them but they're delicious

Was craving a burger and came here for old times sake (it's across from my old high school!). It hasn't changed much over the years besides the price increasing bit by bit like everything else nowadays. Service was really quick as there was only one other customer on a rainy weekday afternoon before school let out. I ordered a Swiss cheeseburger on wheat bread with everything and waffle fries. I forgot they include mustard and I don't prefer it, but other than that, the burger was solid. I do wish the bread had been toasted and more buttery, but maybe it would have if I did not order wheat bread. The waffle fries are exceptionally crisp and crunchy and excellently seasoned.

This location has been here for 18 years! That's impressive in this ever so changing world we live in now. The burgers are old fashion style with perfectly toasted buns and made to order. The onion rings are medium thickness. Service was great and the items were delivered to the table fairly quickly with a smile. The prices are really good too. They play great music (Elvis was on!) from the simpler era. I love the black and white picture hanging on the walls. The neon sign also gives it that 50's diner look. There are plenty of seating options inside as well as a patio with umbrella cover. Parking is easy and right outside of the restaurant. They need to update the booths. Many have tears in the seat portion and that gives a bad look. I'm surprised no one has repaired them to keep the place looking as nice as possible.

Was in town on business and was told to try this place out. It's a mom and pop burger joint (with 4 locations around Houston) and is no frills, old fashioned style. I got the basic double cheeseburger with fresh cut fries. Double Cheeseburger 7/10 - the meat is under seasoned for me, but everything else was great. From the large pickle slices and fresh bread, it made for a great burger. I personally just added some S&P and was content. Fresh Cut Fries 8/10 - I liked these because they were almost crispy and definitely fresh, had cut potatoes. Service 7/10 - it's a counter order style joint, and they just bring the food out. Pretty much self serve. The staff was friendly though overall. Atmosphere 7/10 - again, it's a no frills and basic old school style burger joint. Overall 8/10 - I definitely recommend to give them a chance if in the area. You never really know what to expect with places like this, but this one did not disappoint! #burgers #freshcutfries #houstoneats #southwellsburgers

So if McDonald's has lost its THRILL And sh**ty Shake Shack just made you ILL And the Burger King left you nothing in his WILL And Wendy's tastes like Dr. PHIL And In N Out just went DOWNHILL And Five Guys is a porno, not a burger MILL I can tell you a great burger, with no FRILL It's here, Southwell's Hamburger GRILL! WHAT! (But after you eat it, get on the f***ing Treadmill) (And if your arteries didn't get clogged yet, they soon will) Southwell's is a Houston Legend and a specialty shop which has wonderful burgers and great chicken sandwiches, juicy and fresh and tasty with plenty of chicken on them. Barbi has been to a couple of them with me and she agrees, they have excellent burgers and really great chicken sandwiches. They're not cheap but they're not expensive, and service is usually great at all the different locations, including this one. Yes, their products can be a little dry and a little plain, but easily 5 stars and way better than any of the chains. I love all the locations, and this one is one of my faves. It feels like the original, even though I think the original doesn't exist. This is because they've done an old-time style decor with all the neon trimmings of a diner and cute sentimental pictures of the olden tymes of the place. I guess I should have realized by how shiny and new and large this place is (and along the fancy I-10 corridor), that it's not the original. But the service and products are great. Barbi and I had kind of a bad time when we came to this one together, but we'll make up for it next time. Also the servers here are super cute and one of them is super flirty with me and I always appreciate that. There are 4 locations, and I've been to 3 so far. There might be more I don't know about. Southwells definitely have some of the best sandwiches in town and we always appreciate every single bite. Service here was not too bad, although I prefer the other locations for that. I like girls from the North but I prefer SOUTH BELLES Southern Women are so witchy, casting all their SOUTH SPELLS But nobody tells me what to do like the SOUTH TELLS And nobody makes a burger like they make at SOUTHWELLS Nobody dwells on racist thoughts like the SOUTH DWELLS And no Michelle from Northern states can compare to the SOUTH CHELLES And nobody sells hypocrisy like the SOUTH SELLS But nobody makes sandwiches quite as good as SOUTHWELLS Northern girls are loud, but no-one yells like the SOUTH YELLS And Southern Men keep victims at the bottom of their SOUTH WELLS If social justice leads to heaven, they live in their SOUTH HELLS But that's okay, I still want to get dinner now from SOUTHWELLS WHAT

Great place, we have been coming here for years, they have the best burgers! Good atmosphere, usually not too long of a wait time. I recommend the blue cheese burger!

    Fried Egg Cheeseburger Sliced view

Pleasant help, poor food quality. The burger was gross. The meat tasted off, the fried egg was over cooked and the veggies didn't taste fresh. Stopped by during the lunch hour and it wasn't busy so not sure if I was just unlucky but I couldn't eat it.

A glamorized #whopper at best. That was my assessment of Southwell's hamburger Grill. I have never heard of this chain before and I opted for a regular hamburger with seasoned fries. The burger was just OK, it came with its fixings and the Patty was smaller in proportion with the buns. The burger definitely needed condiments such as lots and lots of mayo and the buns should have been grilled or have some butter in them. The French fries were ok too. Seasoned version and smaller in quantity. I did like the waffle look of the fries as I've only had them at Chick-fil-A before. Overall 2.5 out of five but I skewed it up to three stars. As mentioned before, it's just like your everyday whopper but with a little bit more use of cosmetics. One time visit for me only. This is a closed chapter.

Omg!! So I'm always looking for a burger that tastes as if I made it at the house. In other words, exactly how I want it. Southwell's has done it! Honestly made me feel like I went to the store, bought ingredients, took it all home and whipped up an amazing burger. I ordered a bacon double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, light pickles, mayo and mustard. U can also add onions but I opted out. I also ordered waffle fries and a fried ordered the onion rings which i tasted also. Ratings Burger - 5/5 - bacon was crisp, vegetables were fresh and tomatoes weren't too thin, meat wasn't too thick and seasoned, original soft bun Waffle fries - 4/5 - only missing Cajun seasoning but this is just a preference, other than that they were hot and CRISP! Onion rings - 4/5 - thick cut, hot and crisp. Not dried out. Thank you for a delicious lunch southwell's! This location is great and staff was very prompt and courteous!

They were extremely patient with me upon ordering when I had a lot of questions, even though there were people waiting behind me. They were informative, had great energy, and were also hustling to get people their orders as quickly as possible Food/Drinks, 10/10: As a vegan, coffee shops can be hit or miss, especially on the food. Having clearly labeled vegan options made it easy for me to have confidence with my choice (vegan all day). The bread was perfectly warm but not hard. Great flavor. I also asked for a matcha with strawberry puree & no foam to meet my dietary needs. It was delicious! Located in Spring Branch, this fast casual restaurant is located in the same shopping center as quite a few solid eateries including The Blind Goat, Jinya, and Feges BBQ. In fact, Stuffed Belly is owned by Christine Ha, winner of season five of Masterchef. Parking wasn't an issue in the busy yet spacious complimentary lot around the shopping center. Ambiance (3/5): Stuffed Belly is more of a grab-and-go type spot. The reason? It's quite small. There are about five seats inside and one long picnic style seating area on the small patio. That's it. The restaurant looks nice, just tiny. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and they let you know when your order is ready. The ordering process was smooth and we got our food within a reasonable amount of time. While service isn't a big part of the experience, I didn't run into any issues. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order any beverages on this visit. Food (3/5): I went with the belly burger (their classic burger) and an order of the loaded tots. It was a mixed bag. I love a good smash burger, it's one of my favorite types of burgers. The ingredients are all quality. The problem? One issue is that it's a pretty small burger as you can tell from my picture. A kiddie burger of sorts. The loaded tots, on the other hand, were a generous portion. I have a weakness for loaded fries. As others have mentioned in their reviews, fries are not an option at Stuffed Belly. Tots only. I like tater tots too, but it is pretty bizarre for a burger spot to not have fries on the menu. The other issue I have is that both of my items (as well as what my mom ordered) was spicy. Take this with a grain of salt as I can only handle a little spice. Still, the menu offerings packed more of a punch than I expected. Which definitely impacted my enjoyment of the meal. If you like spicy, don't sweat it. If you don't, you're probably going to feel like I did. While Stuffed Belly underdelivered a bit for me, I did come in with high expectations. The Blind Goat is much better (though more expensive) in my book. Also keep in mind that Stuffed Belly closes pretty early on several days of the week... 8 p.m.

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips).
