Stopped by Hotline Burger and grabbed a smash burger with fries, and it did not disappoint. The beef tasted fresh, the fries were hot, and the food came out way faster than I expected. You can tell they run a tight kitchen everything looked clean and organized. The guy who took my order was friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Yes, yes and yes!!! I do love some Hotline Burger, and I was craving it mid-week and wanted to get off my healthy kick for the day. I have been to the Hwy 6 location several times, but hadn't been to this one yet, and the day was nice out, so I decided to give it a go. This location does not have indoor seating, but they do have a patio outside with covered tables which was nice for a day like that. I ordered my food at the walk-up and waited, not too long, and before I knew it, the bag was secured, and the food was ready to be inhaled! I got the Hotline burger, single patty, which was just enough, and some parmesan fries. Everything was super hot, and fresh, and with every bite, I just devoured more and more. It is really hard to go wrong with a Hotline burger when they have consistently stayed consistent. Yep, I said it! Compared to the OG Energy Corridor (#1) location, this Chinatown location serves as a non-Chinese option on Bellaire and takes advantage of a space that is perfect for the burger loving crowd. Things to immediately know: * All of the burgers are 100% certified Halal * This is a cashless business. Credit cards are your friend. * There is a drive-thru, or at least the appearance of one. I don't know if it's actually ever in use. * There is no lettuce or tomato (#2) * There are only smashburgers and fries. That's it. For first timers, I'd recommend starting with the classic, which has ketchup, mustard, chopped onions, pickles and American cheese. The crispiness of the thin patties is really emphasized and the sweetness of the pickles with the cheese and sauce really shine. From there folks can graduate to the jalapeño or BBQ burger, which is an added layer of spicy kick or sweet and tangy. The signature Hotline burger features their smack sauce, which is frankly a gamechanger. The most hearty option is still their patty melt, which features everything in the Hotline except with swiss cheese in Texas toast. The smack fries are the finishing touch, which is a messy pile of fries drenched in that money sauce. Lastly, owner Phil is one of the nicest people I've met. Been curious to try this burger spot out in front of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes and finally got the chance recently. While it doesn't seem like there is too much dining in here, I must say the smash burgers are excellent. The fries are very crispy, even after a good 20-30 minute ride home. This place is located on the outskirts of Chinatown on Bellaire and serves as a nice alternative to the predominantly Asian food along the street. Prices are in line with other premium burger joints. Hotline Burger is such a hidden gem!! The building formerly housed an ice cream joint which never seemed to be very busy anyway so I'm happy that Hotline Burger took its place! I generally only eat Asian food in this area but after a long beach day, we were craving burgers. Much needed sustenance! We got the junior (1 patty) hotline burger, the regular (2 patties) patty melt, along with the smack fries. Everything was so good! I'm not crazy about onions but their caramelized onions in the burger and over the smack fries are so yummy and it compliments the smack sauce well. The burgers were perfectly charred. If you like smash burgers, I think you'll love Hotline! There is a drive through but it has been closed the last 2 times that I've been. I'm giving this place 4 stars because there was too much ketchup in my classic burger. I ordered the regular which is a double patty, the meat wasn't seasoned enough and there was too much ketchup but the overall burger was very fresh and prepared well, especially with a nicely toasted bun. They do make it to order hence the high ratings, but I'll have to come back to try it again without too much of the ketchup. The cook was very nice! read more

I was on my usual discovery drive around the Chinatown area when I noticed something interesting. The sign saying "Hotline Burger" in a shopping plaza. I cannot say how the patty melt was since I was picking up lunch for my family but I did try the hotline burger. The hotline burger are smashed patties with that nice crispy edge to it. I took a bite and I was hooked. The smack sauce, pickles, onions, American cheese all in between soft burger buns...what else could you ask for? The area is in a busy section of Bellaire outside of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes. But a good ambiance to just come by and casually pick up a burger and sit or take it to go. *This might be an outrageous statement* I think this is a much better smashed burger than the famous one place in Montrose if you what I'm saying Lol I'm definitely going back for more when I get a chance. read more

Arrived at 9:45pm and they close at 10pm and no one was at the window, however lights were on. I looked thru the window and there was a motorcycle helmet and a motorcycle parked outside so it was clear someone was still working. My husband called the owner and he said that they close in 5min. When my husband let him know that we had arrived 15 min before closing he then said they closed at 9pm for Ramadan. Last I checked Ramadan ended on March 29! Which means he lied. What made it worse was that we waited in the parking lot while we tried to figure out somewhere else to eat, and the guy who works there came out and got on his motorcycle smh.
