I almost never leave online reviews, but SWB has earned a shoutout. I took my Bacchetta Bella recumbent in to SWB for some long overdue maintenance and a minor but confounding steering issue. I paid for a tuneup and got what feels closer to a rebuild; it looks, feels, and rides like a new bike. My concern that anywhere other than a specialty recumbent shop might not properly service my Bacchetta was off the mark. Great people, great service, fair prices. SWB will be my go-to bike shop as long as I'm on the pedals. read more

So I bought a few e-bikes off of OfferUp for a killer price fir my wife and I. Bikes ran great! Just needed a tune up. Forked up over 400 dollars to this company to maintenance and bring the bikes up to basically manufactory condition. Again these bikes WERE in great condition and needed brakes and a few bolt tightens and adjustment, definitely shouldn't have costed that much, especially for what I got, but I just really wanted to make sure I was getting the most of my bikes and their power witch some proper maintenance. WORST 400 bucks I have ever spent. My bikes run WORSE then when I bought them from the old couple who hadn't maintenanced them really at all And put 1700 miles on them. Save your money, don't get rinsed by SWB, and watch a YouTube video if you don't know what you are doing and need to maintenance your bike. i literally never write reviews but it literally grinds my gears to ride my bike now because of the condition they are in now.. read more

Unfortunately, this business does not understand the legal implications of accepting a service request from someone with younger onset Alzheimer's, without contacting POAs (powers of attorney). And yes, the shop owner was aware of my husband's Alz diagnosis prior to accepting the service request. My neighbor Greg, who I asked to leave our family alone in February 2025, took my ill husband with younger Alz and his bike in to this shop in July 2025. The neighbor struck a deal with my husband's mother to pay for the service. As my husband's medical power of attorney (btw he has a court appointed conservator for financials), I was never informed. When my 5yo daughter and I got home, my husband had no idea where his bike, his backpack, or his cell phone were. All was lost in the time that I went to have lunch and pick up my daughter from kindergarten. On our wild goose chase that evening when I should've been helping my daughter with homework, brushing teeth, and evening routine, we found his bike at this bike shop, and then my husband vaguely recalled some intervention by our dirty gossip-Gabby, Nosey Nancy neighbor Greg who refuses to leave our family alone. Little did the shop owner realize that our family had been in legal battles with my husband's aggressive horrible mother for 3 years. She has lost every futile battle, yet she keeps trying. Her latest failed attempt involves threats of legal action regarding my daughter. So the neighbor Greg striking a deal for my husband's mother to pay for his bike? No. Not allowed. My husband's conservator even refuses to answer his mother's calls due to her belligerence. So unfortunately, this shop should educate themselves on accepting service requests from persons with Alzheimer's, and understanding that you need to communicate with the POA prior to service acceptance. The outcome: I accepted the invoice and paid from our marital account, even though I never (nor did the conservator) requested or agreed to this service. EDITED TO ADD: When we all came in for me to pay and pick up his bike, I asked the shop owner "do you know he has Alzheimer's?" he said YES. So please, if you are a business owner and you knowingly accept a service request from someone with a severe cognitive impairment, you MUST ask for POAs to ensure this is the right decision for that person. Someone told me "what are you supposed to do when someone with Alzheimer's has a broken bike?" You find the Medical and/or Financial POA for that person and work as a TEAM. You don't take matters into your own hands - this is literal exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Fortunately for us, my husband is now placed in memory care so he cannot be exploited, and so we don't end up with wild goose chases around town when I need to be working and raising my daughter on my own. Shame on everyone involved who caused confusion in my husband and harm to our family. read more

First time visit to leave my old Bianchi Grizzly mountain bike for bottom bracket maintenance as it had gone dry of lube. They updated it to cartridge bearings and it made a huge difference. It runs super smooth now. I felt the bill was reasonable as well. Really a good experience. Remember folks, everything is more expensivde these days and "cheap" is a thing of the past. I had a delivery there and while I was unloading I happened to have a question about my bike not going into a certain gear. Not only did he help me with a couple key components to check he also offered to fix it free of charge if I ever brought it in. So I did have to get going but I appreciated his time so much that I wanted to buy another bike on the spot but I had to go back work. I enjoyed the time there and the discussion about the designs of the various models for myself as well. Jeff and his entire crew are fantastic! I purchased my bike from Southwest Bicycles about a year and a half ago and the process was flawless. They taught this "newbie" bike handling and even how to change my tires. I have never been stranded by a flat because of the time they took to teach me. I cannot thank this shop enough. My partner is a competitive triathlete and her brake cable ended up taking a turn for the worse at 4:30pm on a Saturday night (with a triathlon first thing the next morning and the bike shop closing at 5pm). While we are competent in doing some quick repairs, this was not something we were going to be able to fix with the race being the next morning (or probably fix in general ). Throwing the bike in the car, I rushed over to this shop and called them a few minutes prior to my arrival. They let me know that although it was close to closing time for the store, they would take a look at the bike and try to fix it if possible. Again, I CANNOT thank this shop enough. They were able to fix the bike cable in less than 30 minutes and were so happy to help. Even such a small repair changed the course of race day, and while it may seem insignificant to some... it means everything to have people that are willing to help in a time of complete chaos. The staff at Southwest are a likable and helpful bunch. My husband and sons ride mountain bikes hard and break them often and it's great to know we have a good group of mechanics that can help diagnose what the heck they did. They'll even teach my husband occasionally how to fix what he did since we have a stable of bikes and bike pets that grows every time my husband leaves the house. This experience was awesome, with the employees were super nice, funny, and always were on top of what they needed to get done. I came in to get a trek marlin witch this was one of the few bike shops in the valley to have it, I walked right in they greeted me and showed me around, and there in the front was the bike I wanted. They told me every fact and things I need to know about it, and when I need to service it. Once I got the bike he rung it up and in under 10 min I was out of the store with a new bike. I replaced my brake pads and couldn't get the rear to pump up so I took it in to SWB on Saturday. They let me know the brake levers were recalled by SRAM and offered to replace them both for free under the recall. Originally they said it would be ready on Thursday but since I was leaving for The Whiskey I needed it on Tuesday. Just the kind of stress I need before a big race. They called at 11am Tuesday to tell me it was done. And they cleaned up the cable routing! Great job under a critical schedule. read more

This review is strictly for Jeff at Southwest Bicycles. Here's the short story... I was road bike sprinting "Lance" HARD & when my gears/chain slipped I crashed bad. I hit the road face first, knocked (the F) out, brokend helmet, yada yada yada. I never met Jeff before but when I woke up Jeff was there taking care of me and had gotten medical help ASAP. I re-met Jeff weeks later & he gave me closure to the events during & after the crash. It has been a few months and the bike bug has taken hold. My comfort bike was leaving me wanting more speed and power but my weight is currently above the recommended max for most road bikes including the Domane 4 or 5 series I'm drooling over. So I sold my shift and picked up a used hybrid to keep me losing and exercising. It was not a manufacturer that SWB sells but I've learned to like this store so my wife and keep coming back. Jeff has helped me with my 10 year old Sirrus twice including giving me only what I needed. Once I just needed a puncture resistant tube instead of a higher quality tire. Another time my chain kept dropping when I'd switch to the lowest ring on the chainset. If Jeff wanted he probably could've sold me a chainset but instead just kept me riding by making a simple (for him) repair. While coming in he helped me with sunglasses when I was tired of cheap frames breaking. I came in looking at a pair of Tifosi glasses but he suggested another pair. My saddle was a bit too narrow and I was looking for a change. I was staring at a Bontrager saddle and he handed me a Serfas that was cheaper and will hopefully fit my body and riding style better. He even told my wife to try adjusting her bike first before replacing her saddle. This is not a store or an owner out to make a quick buck. This is a local business and an owner that wants lifelong and happy customers. Currently I am down 22 lbs. I need to drop at least 47 more to get under the suggested weight limit for a carbon frame bike. There is a part of me interested in a particular bike that SWB does not carry. But after the past few months I am more interested in buying from here. So in about 20-30 weeks I hopefully will get to try out a Domane 4 or 5 series and start doing things I've always thought were impossible.... like hopefully a century ride next spring. read more

Went in with my husband to get his bike tire repaired. We left with so much more. Luke was beyond helpful. He taught us newbies how to change the tube on the bike, tips on how to check for holes, thorns, and other faults. In addition, he offered methods to finding trails suitable for all levels and ages as we also have two younger kids. All this and we didn't even have to ask. Luke is an example of customer service and displays his passion for this sport.
