Previously had good experiences. My landscape team reported that an order was short by almost half - I called support and was professionally heard and passed to dispatch. Dispatch told me I was wrong, and my team was wrong, because they use calibrated equipment. I'm an engineer. Calibrated equipment has tolerances - operating at low end of the tolerance, per load, can add up to significant under-fulfillment of an order. So yeah, it could be off. I trust my team that actually applied the product in the field. At the end of the day I don't really care, because I was short material for a project - 2 cubic yards. A big amount for me, a homeowner, but a small amount for a landscaping supplier. As a business owner, I would have expected a higher level of customer service, acknowledging the amount of business throughput with my account. I was offered a discount on a future purchase, but in a way that was pretty rude and forced. I declined the discount because I don't really want to do more business with a company that would dismiss me so quickly after spending thousands of dollars for their materials. The dispatch manager chose to forgo my future business to be right about a material cost of $172. Sure. you win, Southwest Boulder. You're right. And I'll take my next $3000 order somewhere else that won't call me a liar. read more

Just made my first and last purchase from here! I purchased 4 pieces of edging and they conveniently failed to mention the $35.80 fuel surcharge! I picked the edging up in my truck. Why is there a fee and why are you not telling customers about the fee? Dishonest. I would not recommend shopping here. Not a trustworthy company. read more

Most of their common landscaping stones are prebaged or can be custom bagged if you require a unique stone size or color. Horrible customer service!!!Had a big issue with the desert gold DG purchased from them last July in which red staining appeared everywhere water interacted with the DG and my yard looked like garbage. Initially a Southwest Boulder rep came to the house to take samples and pictures. He agreed it looked bad and had no qualms that Southwest Boulder would give me more DG AND pay for my contractor's time for reinstall. Now the manager there, named Randy, calls me with a very defensive and aggressive tone saying all he'll offer is 1 yard of DG (not nearly enough) and also NOT pay for the reinstall. He just kept cutting me off when I asked if he'd seen the pictures or talked to the other rep. Wouldn't have a decent conversation with me. Now my yard looks HORRIBLE!! Basically they want me to pay again and they won't try to rectify the problem caused by their subpar product. read more

Disappointed in Sales/Customer Service and product quality. We were given an estimate for a small amount of crushed rock. When came time to purchase it ended up being higher due to the additional costs of 2 super sacks which we were never told about. Upon delivery we only got 1 super sack and Southwest Boulder kept the other, even though we were charged for 2. The rock quality is not the best. We are now having to sift it and ended up with almost three 5 gallon buckets of sand so far.for a small amount of rock. I would suggest when you ask for an estimate, please include all costs involved. We did appreciate the samples to take home to compare. Although we won't purchase again from here. read more

Not happy about extra delivery charge. It's not the additional cost as that's minor on a $8,500 purchase , it's the principle of it. I also did not get my $50 of product but they can keep it and pay the $33 delivery up charge and $17 they can keeps it as they seem to need it more than I do. read more

I couldn't have imagined a better experience. We needed to buy over a ton of Mexican river rock. When we showed up, we waited a few minutes, as multiple landscapers were there picking up supplies. When Rexann helped us, it went so smoothly. She got onto a machine, brought the rocks out. She helped with all the details, involving the bad measurements we had for our backyard. She smiled the whole time, and couldn't have been nicer. It would be great if every business had an employee like that. We were told it might be a week before the delivery was made, but they called us later that day to say the delivery would be the following day, which was even better. Ashlee knew the prices by memory of every product we asked about, and they pulled item after item down with a forklift just so we could feel it, see it and even walk on it. There are so many suppliers of decomposed granite but not very many will go out of their way to make sure you're confident with your investment.
