During this period, work stopped for week-long intervals without prior notification, requiring multiple phone calls to obtain status updates. The contractor then requested the final 50% payment to complete the project. They sent an email specifying that the remaining work would require six days to complete. Based on this timeline, I issued a cashier's check for the remaining balance. Following receipt of payment, the contractor performed two days of work. He screwed all four boards together, used multiple stakes on each side (instead of just two originally), and even set the corners into concrete so they wouldn't come up again.
