Paco is not the ideal small business owner I'd recommend to anyone…read more I contacted him to replace my irrigation valve on Saturday 07/04/26, while the initial conversation was cordial, the end result wasn't (07/06/26). We set a date (07/06/26) for the replacement and what I thought was a fair negotiated price ($250), it really ended not being a fair price at all. Paco initially wanted $280, I negotiated with him to $250. Even at $250 he was higher than all others by $50-$100 more. I asked him if I could use my credit card, he said yes but there would be 4% surcharge. I didn't agree with that, so I asked if he could wave that, he reluctantly agreed. So, date and price was set. Come Monday 07/06/26, he claims his credit card service isn't working, so I agreed to a Zelle payment. Our appointment was for Monday (07/06/26 at 11:30; not only did his credit card service not work according to him, but he continued to change his arrival time. He texted me he was running behind on 07/06/26 and now would arrive no later than 12:30. By this time I'm seeing many red flags. I called him @ 11:46 on 07/06/26 to verify with him that he would arrive no later than 12:30 and was still intact. While confirming his 12:30 time, now he tells me 1 O'clock and blames me for his late arrival because I called to verify the time. During our conversation on the phone he kept interrupting me, talking over me, telling me I was upset that I couldn't use my credit card (furthest from the truth), and that I set the price for the job and so forth. I told him, I no longer needed his services, he was rude and not accommodating or respectful of my time and needs. Who wants to invite someone to their home after a terrible text and phone conversation, NO THANK YOU! To say the least, he wasn't given the job. Be careful who you hire people.

However when I contacted them about when they were going to come out again for regular maintenance, and that the trees planted were dying...all I hot were crickets. Finally got contacted and was told they were going to replace the trees...2 weeks later they came out and ripped the trees out and said they would come out in another 2 weeks. Long story short, every time I contacted them I got no response. Tried to pursue them legally and was ghosted. I paid them to replace trees and bushes, and a month's regular maintenance...and now left with nothing. All I can say is lesson learned and know what goes around will be back around.

It's been the same dirt lot since the house was built over a decade ago. We finally decided to get it done so our new dog could have a nice place to play, especially during the summers, where we can control the heat levels. JJ and associate came out quickly and made me feel really comfortable. There was no weird upselling (I wanted something really plain) and no fear mongering. I could tell immediately that we were going to go with Rock N Block so I cancelled my other appointment with a different company and put my deposit down right away. Within hours, JJ had the plans to me and I got the HOA paperwork started. Once that was done, I was scheduled immediately to have my yard worked on. The day of, the workers came, did a final measurement and got to work. It took 3 days but it came out exactly like I was promised and had envisioned myself. The workers were extremely friendly and self contained. They were responsible and trustworthy. They were also very concerned with my happiness. They asked me if things were looking good quite a few times. They literally made my yard perfect. I'm still looking for imperfections and cannot find them. If there were any complaints, the communication could be more but to be honest, they give information and don't feel the need to consistently remind you, which is also good. We did have a small hiccup where the workers didn't know they had to install a few other things but JJ made it right immediately and I can only be happy about that. I'd rather have the problem be solved immediately then get a phone call being told it would be done, although I can see how some people would want both. Pricing was fair in my opinion. I was told it should have been less expensive but I don't think so. The job is immaculate and the items are gorgeous with great quality. The craftsmanship means a lot to me and I would pay for it again. I wish I took some before pictures but I completely forgot to. Imagine a literal nothing of a yard. Now, it's gorgeous and I can't wait to accessorize!

He screwed all four boards together, used multiple stakes on each side (instead of just two originally), and even set the corners into concrete so they wouldn't come up again. We explained that we wanted a low-maintenance outdoor space that felt clean, modern, and sophisticated. About a week later, Evan sent us a design image created by their in-house designer. Evan was also the one who recommended the white decorative rock, which makes the patio feel brighter and more spacious, as well as the gray multicolored pavers for the area where we planned to install our pergola. We happened to have very similar tastes, but more than anything, we were truly impressed by his excellent sense of design. His recommendations helped bring our vision to life. The project was originally scheduled to take three days, but the entire job was completed in just a day and a half! The entire crew was incredibly professional. They worked with incredible speed and efficiency, and the finished work was absolutely perfect. We were especially impressed by Nicco, the manager, and the entire crew. Watching them work so hard in the intense heat, with such dedication and professionalism, truly made us appreciate their efforts. We also received estimates from three other companies. The other companies told us that a design image would cost $500, but this company provided ours free of charge. We were also told by other companies that we would need additional drainage pipes. After reading many positive reviews on Angie's List, we decided to call Cacti Landscapes and set up an appointment with Bret. We met with him to discuss a plan to convert our yard from grass and stone to desert landscape. After he reviewed the pictures of plants, shrubs, vines, and trees that we wanted to include in the new project, he advised which would do well in a desert landscape. After agreeing on a complete plan to convert our front, side, and backyard, we received a bid from Bret later that same day. The bid included removing a tree, all plants and shrubs, grass, and stone.....plus installing a new drip system, new red rock, 37 shrubs and plants, and a tree. The team was very prompt and professional. Their attention to detail was excellent, and they were very cooperative when asked to change some plants at my request. They completed the job in two days. We are very pleased with the appearance and quality of the work done on our new landscape, and have already recommended Bret and Cacti Landscapes to our neighbor. read more

After years of trying to grow and maintain grass (with no luck), in my front yard I decided to go with desert landscaping. After reviewing numerous landscaping companies and their photos of prior work I went with Cacti. Now, I don't know a gopher plant from a yellow iris, so when I called Bret I told him I just needed some rocks and a few plants and could he come over and give me an estimate. When he arrived he looked at the yard and knew right away what to do. What a relief! I left it all up to him and his crew. I was not disappointed. My front yard looks great and since Bret came well under my budget, I used Cacti to extend the patio area around my pool, put a walkway on the side of the house and some plants in the backyard. I did go slightly over my budget, but it was worth it. I love the work that they did and would recommend this company to anyone. They are real professionals! We have used Cacti for our landscape maintenance since March, 2010 and are very pleased with the service and cooperation provided. Bret Utter is reachable by phone and email and responds fairly promptly for a busy business owner. At least one of the maintenance crew speaks English and all are ready to do what is needed. We advise Bret ahead of time of any special requirements and the crew arrives prepared to handle the requests. As we have about half an acre to maintain, the crews do a good job on the monthly visit. We have also used Bret's landscaping service to replace some old shrubs and plant new. This was done efficiently, at a reasonable cost and with decent plants. So this is now my second review the first was removed because not enough detail. So here goes cacti landscaping showed up to do my yard and did not even go in the back yard told me that my dog was outside. First lie then told me gate was locked second lie. Second month comes along I pay the 64 dollars for them to come yet again no show. After tons of emails I'm told I'm a liar and that I still owe more money. After a lengthy emailing back in forth over there wrong doing I was told they won't come even after i paid. Even was told they had video of dog outside. Still have not seen that video still waiting. Horrible horrible customer service would not recommend this company to anyone read more

for 2 months they continued to charge me $10 for replacement of ONE PLANT. now that plant has died, planted in June. I was never told of the new policy of charging to replace a plant. I will do it myself! Poof! My account becomes inactive, just like that! Ironically I call them because I received a letter from the water company that somewhere there was a leak at my house. It was the irrigation box. So, I actually called Cact, had to call 3x until someone answered the phone, or do they have caller id and didnt pick up the first 2 times? hmmm I would have hired them to fix the irrigation system but I was told my account was marked inactive. Very RELIABLE! Anyone who's been in Vegas for a while will know how hard it is to find people that do a great job and are reliable. The landscaper we used prior to Cacti, charged more, didn't consistently show up at the same time each month, and then suddenly stopped coming all together with no warning. Cacti has always shown up each and every month, and does a way better job. We've been using Cacti Landscape for almost a year now. Weeds do grow quickly in Las Vegas during the summer, but using Cacti's maintenance program has seemed to keep them under control. In the time that they work on my yard, they weed, trim the trees and bushes better than I ever could. read more

I'm only updating this review to again share how frustrated I am with Cacti, still even after I cancelled with them. Not only did they cut this bush down to the stumps without asking me first, they then tried to charge me to replace the bush. Not only that, but since they did this at a time when I wasn't prepared to pay to put in a new bush, now I have my HOA company telling me to get this handled. So if Cacti had just asked me if I wanted the bush taken out, I would have been able to say no and not have HOA breathing down my neck to replace it. Again, screw this company and their lack of communication. I could not be more upset with their customer service. read more

There are three reasons I love Cacti and am so happy I found them. 1. They are reliable. They come on the day they say they will which a lot of companies don't. 2. They are great at their job. Weeds gone, overgrowth gone, minor repairs done. They even helped me set my water clock which always confuses me. My home looks amazing when they are done. 3. I started with Cacti landscaping a couple years ago when I needed someone to fix a sprinkler leak that another company really messed up. They did a great job for me so I hired them for monthly service. They do a great job of maintaining my landscape just how I want it. And they know just how I want it because they check in with me every time they come if I am home. We review how it looks and how far I want things trimmed back. If I am not home, they do it just like the month before. And the crew manager makes sure his crew did a good job. Solid company for sure. read more

You get what you pay for. I now understand if you want good landscaping you pay $100/month. Cacti is cheaper and service is worth $5/month. Employees know very little except blow debris to road and sweep up and haul away. If you expect any thing else done right or even done at all look elsewhere. They do show up when scheduled for 10 minutes a month. I have decided to just do this small amount myself especially after they destroyed a sago by trimming it all wrong. We use Cacti's monthly service and are very pleased. We have an HOA that is very aggressive with notices if landscaping is not perfect. We have not received any notices from the HOA since we started using Cacti. Also, Cacti is very good in responding to any thing we want to have done above and beyond the normal monthly service. We have been using Cacti for a year. We have regular monthly maintenance done. Too we have used them for an initial clean up prior to the set up of the monthly. We have had sprinkler repairs done and they came out quickly. We have also had some minor landscaping done with removal of dead plants or plants we didn't like. I had specifically asked for the small stones in the backyard to be redistributed, because it wasn't even and the black tarp from underneath was showing. Bret and team installed both back and front yard on our LV home bought 11 months ago. We could not be happier with their service and professionalism. The yard is beautiful. The pricing was so good, I had them pro-actively replace my rear (yard) irrigation valve. Fast, clean, high quality work! Called on LandTeck to replace my entire irrigation system (5/8" tubing, feeder tubes, sprinkler heads, PVB valves) in December 2018 ... fantastic work and excellent value/price. See review further below. ---------------------------------- December 2018 Review I recently invited a phone-screened short list of three (3) contractors to my home to bid on the replacement of irrigation lines on the my property as well as plus the replacement of in-ground valves (2) and above-ground PVB - the system is now 14 years old and we were chasing problems. Carlos / LandTeck was the only contractor (of the 3) that showed up on time, offered objective/useful information on several approaches, promptly emailed the most detailed bid (2 contractors committed to price in writing, Carlos was the most specific), and offered the best price-to-value value proposal. We selected LandTeck for the reasons above and Carlos accommodated our schedule for the work. After further reflection and our comfort level with our experience to-date, we decided to use Carlos to simultaneously replace our landscape light wiring, upgrade our the landscape lighting to LEDs, plant 2-3 dozen plants, add a flagstone pathway, and refresh our rock. As expected (but verified), Carlos' updated the bid with highly competitive pricing and a detailed proposed approach & bid -- i.e., I was not taken for granted. The crew showed up for the scheduled days, was on time each day, worked diligently until sunset each day, cleaned up each evening, and checked in before departing. As usual with home improvement projects, we uncovered several site-specific challenges along the way as well as additional problems. The supervisor (Francisco and/or Fernando) was always quick to alert me, provide options (if any), allow us to make decisions (if available), and keep our outlays to a minimum. Note that several issues (e.g., a leaky PVC pipe about a foot away from the PVB) resulted in no additional costs - definitely not my usual contractor experience. The entire crew and Carlos were always on top of the project. The LandTeck professionals genuinely sought to ensure that I was kept apprised throughout the project and that our landscaping objectives (structurally and cosmetically) met or exceeded our goals. I highly recommend LandTeck for similar work and intend to have them return to submit a proposal for my Paver-Patio. For those of you so interested, LandTeck is a family owned and operated business.

This company does not communicate well or professionally. We…read morereceived several quotes from different landscapers to remove rocks from our backyard and decided to go with LandTek because they were the most affordable. However, the work they gave us a quote for was incorrect and so when the workers showed up they were not prepared. We also had to do the majority of communicating to get them scheduled. The response we received when they did finally confirm they were able to come was also flimsy and unprofessional. We also did not receive a call from them on the day to let us know they were on their way, which is a standard customer service courtesy. After the workers left to we reached out to our contact and let them know that the work they quoted us was incorrect. We did not receive a phone call back apologizing for the inconvenience or mistake, nor was there any effort to get the work re-quoted or rescheduled. In short this company has poor communication & poor customer service, and I would not reach out to them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.
