My wife is a diabetic, and has HPN Insurance, and has for the most part been happy with her Doctors and Care. What has come to light, is her Endocrinologist prescribed her for Dexcom G7 sensors, which are good for the most part. What is not so good, is that Medicare will pay for these sensors, but you have to obey Medicare rules. One is that every 6 months, Medicare requires the Doctor to submit the case notes to them signed by the Doctor. Every month, you have to get a refill on the sensors with Medicare approval. The Doctor fails to submit the case notes with their signature, which means the pharmacy cannot refill the prescription, and the pharmacy has to call, recall, recall, and recall the Doctor to get them to do what they are supposed to do, and in the mean time, your sensors expire, and you have noo idea what your sugar is, and you have to finger stick several times a day. The Doctor in turn gets upset because you are bugging them. There is no call for this. read more

I can't believe when I went to write this review that they only had two I feel bad for them because I had an incredible experience. They created an experience like I've never had before. Over the top friendly and they helped me with my referrals and coordinated with my doctors. They quickly got my MRI information from another doctor within a day or two. So yes, this is definitely the best doctor's office /visit that I went to in my life. Oh and let me not forget Marie Kota. Wow! What an incredible woman. The care sucked. The tech was rude and I will never go back there. I was in tears when I left. Looks like you have to many bad reviews... time to rehire some caring people. You will lose business due to your rude Techs , especially in mammography dept. Wish I knew that witches name but of course no name tag and she did not introduce herself. I went in southwest medical.optum.in Feb of 2025. I had bad.sinus problem . The Dr ignored me when I talking with him and telling him my sinuses were inflamed. He did blood work and vitals and did not treat.me.for sinus infection. I got a bill which I should get.as.i have United health care for 100 dollars. They cover 100 percent as I have United and Medicare Medicaid. . It showed on bill they ordered a COVID test. I have not got blood infusions or done Anything to get.covid. have not been with anyone for over 10 yrs. I dont know why they did that but am going to consult with attorney I am still.gettin 100 lab bills for COVID test .I still have severe problem with my nose. It is swollen with severe dryness and bleeding . I told my friend about it and she said he obviously was not a.competent Dr. I agree.i am continuing to get billed for COVID test . this is a good reason to be.very careful with Drs. I am writing regarding my experience as a patient yesterday, 9/23/2021, at the 270 W Lake Mead Pkwy clinic in Henderson. From the minute I walked in the door I received a very friendly greeting from Vicky. I was checked in, called and roomed promptly. Alfredo, Stephanie, and Dr. Desai were all very personable, efficient, and thorough in providing my care. Alfredo was very professional, maintaining sensitivity with personal assessment questions. Stephanie was kind, and very respectful keeping me covered as she applied EKG leads. Dr. Desai listened to my concerns. He was very thorough in his assessment and exam, and provided a clear, comprehensive plan. As a RN, I felt safe, cared about, and it makes me proud, as I'm also an employee of Optum. This place could not be less helpful! I have been a patient of Dr Dalrymple for 3 years. In those 3 years I have seen him once! He never has time, to make an appointment with him takes a minimum of 2 months. This have not changed even after I was diagnosed with a very serious disease. No one is answering from the 877-5199 number & it's starting to get annoying because me and my boyfriend providers are not answering our calls to make appointments. They leave you on ring for a long time and they don't send you to the callback number option. This place and all the other southwest places are getting weird. I do like this location for SMA because I have had better luck getting seen the same day when booking an appointment. Finding parking is so much easier. Wait time not too long. Even when my dr. was behind 25 minutes I still was seen within an hour. Downside, its a smaller facility, hours are limited and providers here are transient. The last doc I saw said she was only here temporarily. It caused a delay in getting my prescription refilled since she was no longer there to approve it. I just happened to be in the Lake Mead shopping center and decided to drop in and see if they could speed up the process. Sure enough the receptionist that greeted me was able to have another doctor approve it right then and there and rX was sent to my pharmacy. Didn't need any appointment, didn't have to call and deal with voice mail jail. Got the email from my pharmacy to pickup within that hour. So Im satisfied with the service provided here so far. read more

The longer I've been away from this place, the more I realize just how incompetent the medical staff at Southwest and Optum are! (Unless they went to Touro run the other direction! It seems the only good Drs in this town went there!) Their medical staff's ignorance, arrogance and lack of knowledge is deadly! They have told me I didn't have infections, when that is NOT what the labs said, refused to run basic labs - that another Dr. did after I told them what happened there AND my labs were severely out of range. They refused basic and necessary medication because it was "not in their training" (this was a lie, because the ER told me so), but kept telling me to take a medication that was making me sick that I did not need! I'm not sure where these people come from that they hire, but I'm always floored by lack of basic understanding of anatomy and physiology and bodily functions. They've said some really insane and ignorant things to me about how the human body functions, and then they tell me I'm misunderstanding what I'm reading...ugh no...its just that I'm the only one actually reading, they ARE NOT! After waiting months for an appointment I get a call that my doctor will be out of the office on the day I made my appointment and to call and reschedule. After calling to reschedule I was informed the only available appointment was over a month away. I explained I won't have insurance then and it's not my fault the provider canceled. MILAN the so called professional claiming to help had no interest in doing so. She did offer another provider but I've been seeing the doctor for years and saying that her reply was " thank you for choosing Southwest medical" and abruptly hanging up. I don't know who is worse? Milan for treating people this way or her manager for allowing this kind of treatment to people. I have no idea why this place has only 1 star! If I can give more than 5 stars I would! I am so happy with Physician Assistant Dr. Pauline Marayonk, every time I go in she listens to everything and she is on top of things. She always makes sure my blood works are good or she will have her assistant call me. She will always make sure my concerns are addressed and if its out of her care she will make sure you're referred to the right place to take care of the problem. Also Krista she is AWESOME! She listens to your concerns and makes sure Dr. Marayonk gets the concerns and understands before the Dr. walks in to see you. read more

This place is horrible. If you can get your healthcare somewhere else do! They are NOT family friendly at all. The wait times are an hour or more. Their turnover in physicians is high which makes it extremely hard to get even mid-line care. Of course there was only one professional decent front desk clerk which is atleast more then I can say for other offices I guess, otherwise the front desk staff is bitchy and rude... I am surprised that this location is not listed on Yelp. It's a newer facility, but has been open for well over a year now. It is located on Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson, in the same shopping center as Target, Ross, Marshalls, etc. The office itself is all shiny and new. My only gripe (about SMA in general) is how long it takes to get an appointment. Then when I show up there is nobody in the waiting room. Seems strange. Anyhow, this location is REALLY convenient for me. I've used PA Ronald Bryant as my primary care provider for quite awhile now. He used to be based out of the Siena Heights location, but moved to Lake Mead when it opened, and I followed. The staff is only ok - depending on if you catch them on a good day or not. The front desk Ladies can be really grumpy, and during my last appointment I am sure the nurse wanted to be anywhere but there. Overall, they provide good care at a location that is close to my house. So I will just try and plan my appointments in advance and continue using this facility. read more

Like others have said they only care about money.I have had the same perscription for 8 years! and every 6 months they cut off my meds until i see them...They do nothing answer no questions.This last time i missed a appointment they wouldnt give me enough supply to last until i see them again. Beware! Southwest medical is out to make money of their patients. Very incompetent doctors. During my treatments here and also at their Siena location for OBGYN (after they diagnosed me with uterus fibroids), they cancelled me twice both on my RN primary doctor and the OBGYN then they said these 2 doctors are no longer in service at their locations and they offered me different doctors if I wanted to make another appointment. Long story short, they billed my insurance and still charged me $591 for having the ultra sound test on my abdomen but still not knowing what to do with my fibroids. When I called the Siena location why they charged me so much when I didn't get any result on how to get rid of these fibroids, the doctor said, "oh this is about the money, just pay it in installments of $15 every month". After long frustration to deal this, I was informed that my test showed "normal"..huh what a joke!! If it is about the money, I will call the billing dept not the doctor! read more

All they care about is money. I have had the same birth control prescription for over 3 years. I found out my doctor had left southwest medical so I was referred to this office. I simply needed a refill and they refused to do it and said that I had to schedule an appointment with a doctor that wasn't for another two weeks. They then told me that they could get me my medicine to last me until the appointment. I gave them the name of the medicine and I was told it would be ready for me to pick up the next day. I picked it up at CVS and come to find out, it was the wrong kind! I took it hoping that it would work, but I have been sick all day because they could not simply refill my medicine. And they "require" that they schedule appointments once a year. All it is is a cash grab. I'm going to go to the doctor, tell him I want the same thing I've been on for years, and that is that. I think Southwest Medical gets a bad rap. So far, all the doctors and nurses have been professional, which I really like, and friendly, at all the facilities I visited in Henderson. Even when I call, they are very polite and I can tell they're trying to provide the best customer service. They also follow up in a timely manner with test results and that's great. Being new to Southwest, I admit I expected the worst but that's not the case. I really expected wait times to be long but that wasn't the case. The doctor I saw, Dr. Dalrymple, was very nice and helpful. He figured out the minor problems I was having and even managed to do a procedure for a test, saving me a trip to another doctor. I hate that I even have to give one star. Nurse practitioner Julie Planter displayed absolutely incorrigible behavior for someone who is supposed to provide medical care. She clearly has zero concern for the wellbeing of her patients. She aggressively stormed out of my appointment in the cringiest, creepiest manner because i calmly and respectfully told her for the third time that the place she was trying to refer me to hadn't gotten back to me since I first started contacting them in July of 2018..she violently pushed her chair back loudly declaring she was leaving since I wasn't willing to listen...listen to what? That she would refer me to the aforementioned place that wasn't returning my numerous messages for the past eight months (again, that I explained to her thrice)--so please, tell me WHO'S the one who is not listening? I'm beyond baffled that it's acceptable for this 'woman' to treat patients in the manner she did..ESPECIALLY given the fact that I was there primarily for mental health reasons. Furthermore, I needed bloodwork and referrals because I've been very ill lately, but lol guess she didn't think that deserved any attention either. Bravo Ms. Planter- and I say Ms. because I can assure you that no one would ever marry this monster. What a sad excuse of an NP. She has got to be hands down one of the ugliest people I've ever encountered; ever hear the saying misery loves company? One can only assume she just wants me to share her obvious misery. Went in for an exam with Dr. Patricia Case, and everything I said to her, she gave me a negative response. I then asked about blood work that I was having done and I felt like she just snapped at me. All I asked was if she knew what the copay for the blood work was and she proceeded to tell me that they aren't associated with the lab just that she could send a request for a test. She asked me a few personal questions, which doctors are supposed to do, and she acted like I was lying about my responses. She just made me feel unwelcomed and stupid. Attempted to set up an appoint with my primary care as a first time visit. My insurance selected this as the place. Call to create an appointment, no rush just want to get it scheduled. Informed that the primary care is not available for more than 60 days and that I can not schedule an appointment for after that for whatever reason that is out of my control. Seems bad business to turn away a new patient that was not urgent to see the doctor and wanted to schedule an appointment. I will gladly take mine elsewhere. read more

While I did not have any issues with my provider or even the experience during my visit, which took place in September 2013, I am deeply disappointed in the billing process for this facility. I paid my co-pay at the time of service, as usual. I never received a bill from SWMA; however, a few days ago I DID receive a collection notice from a friendly collection agency. Nothing like getting another task added to my already-full "to do" list as a working single mother, right!?!? Several phone calls and a couple of hours later, I had resolved the misunderstanding...after I PROVED to them that I had paid the amount in question!!! Unbelievable!! The girl I spoke with in the billing department seemed to take great pleasure in being a smart @ss and remaining steadfast in her claim that their office doesn't make mistakes. Such a pleasure to do business with you. I can hardly wait to switch my Primary Care Provider to DaVita Health Care Partners. It's one thing to make mistakes. We allllll do. It's another to place blame on your customers when they are affording you an opportunity at service recovery. If there was an option for no stars that is what I would have given them. I have been seen there for almost the past 2 years. My daughter goes in for a physical today and they say that they don't take my insurance (United Health Care). My wife and other daughter have also been seen at the Sienna Heights location. No problems with insurance. They tried to call the Sienna Heights location to see how they did the billing but could not get in touch with anyone. So they called their business office. The business office stated that they take United Health Care but just not the plan that I am on. So I then asked them about my 4 visits in the last year that were successfully submitted to my insurance and they didn't have an answer for it. My wife was there a week ago I told them and they said that I will probably be billed in full for that office visit. We then had to cancel an ENT and ultrasound appointment as the business office told me that I would most likely be billed the full amount. At this point I was livid I pulled up the provider listing on my insurance provider's website and their name came up, even the name of the medical professional that my daughter was supposed to see. I then called my insurance company and we did a conference call to the business office. Their answer was still the same even though the insurance company stated that you are contracted through us and tried to explain to them how to go about doing the billing. The business office manager had none of it and said that they weren't going to take the insurance or even submit it. So now I am going to be billed full price for the office visit, and had to take time out of my day to find another provider to set up appointments with. I will never use Southwest Medical for anything, they are the worst. This is the most horrible experience I have had and also the least professional when it comes to dealing with staff. read more

So the facility itself is actually really nice. My PA on the other hand, was a whole different story. Regardless, Fergun tried treating me for anxiety instead of suggesting tests to exhaust potential diagnosis. Waste of my time and insurance money. 2/23/17 update, turns out I have IBS. This wasn't even suggested during my meeting. Maybe he's not so bad a guy for basic stuff like vaccinations but if you know your body and know there's an issue maybe find a more serious doctor (and don't let someone tell you it's growing pains or that you're too young to have this issue because that's a bull excuse to not run tests). A low fodmap diet was all I needed, not a high fiber diet. read more

I was referred by another Southwest Medical location to expedite my refill for my medication by using the convenience center. After seeing the Physicians Assistant I was assured that my request would be sent to Walgreens the same day. I called Walgreens and they told me the order had not been sent. I then called the Southwest Convenience Center to follow up with my request, but it had closed at 4 pm. During my visit four hours earlier, the PA had told me the medication was important and to follow up with my doctor but she assured me she would send the prescription to my pharmacy. I now have to wait until Monday to see my doctor. The visit was neither productive or convenient as their name states. I will never use the services of this location again, even the front desk person carried herself with a very unfriendly tone. However, the most seamless part of my visit was the convenience of SW collecting my co-pay! What a wonderful health care system we have! read more
