Had a sprinkler break. Tried to fix it myself but noticed flooding around the sprinkler when I turned it on and after digging it up again, realized that the pvc pipe had cracked. Called Ernesto and sent him some pictures of the damage. Was fortunate that he was in the area and was able to come that same day. He fixed the pvc pipe, installed a new sprinkler, and also replaced a valve that was cracked and had been leaking for a few weeks. He did all this in less than an hour. Ernesto and his team at Southwind Landscaping are very sensitive to making sure that the customer is happy at the end of each project. He always spends the time required to make sure the job is done right and even after repeated requests to redo things or to relocate based on "seeing it for the first time", Ernesto is always accommodating and is very experienced. To date, Southwind has helped us with soft-scaping, planting, building custom retaining walls, walk stones, grading & drainage solutions and sprinkler system design. Ernesto came out to help with an urgent last minute trenching job for me in Pasadena. Needed a 30ft trench to 18" depth for electrical conduit. He and his partner were on time, responsive, communicative, and made quick work of it all. They were the only contractor to respond to my call at 7:30pm, too, and got the work because of that. I am still waiting for return calls from other landscape companies and Ernesto has already completed the job. Given that I would have spent as much renting a trencher from Home Depot, plus the hassle of picking up, offloading, returning, etc, it was a decent price, too. They were great about being wary of pvc irrigation lines, which I didnt know the location of (previous owner installed). The only one that was hit was only buried 2" below the surface, so not their fault at all. Highly recommend. read more

Ernesto and his one helper were hired to install a sprinkler system in our backyard. We paid him a lot of money for one days work and if I hadn't been there it would have been a seriously shoddy job. His first attempt was burying the pipes 4" deep. We had a lot of tree roots which we told him initially not to cut so tried to go over them. I asked him to go deeper and he did. He didn't follow instructions on placement of a stub for our planter bed and he moved it after I asked him to. He didn't leave me the connectors for it, which he said he would. He left dirt tracks everywhere that I had to sweep up and didn't fill one of the trenches that he said he would. And then there's the trash he left laying around. How about the dirt all over our outdoor shower. read more
