Chicken gyro and Greek fries
Ilona N.

I come here once a week and dine in for lunch. Convenient location with a big parking garage. Staff is so sweet and always happy and enthusiastic about the food and experience. I get the chicken gyro mostly but the falafel pita is so good also! Side note the salad dressing here is so good I usually take one Togo. Also they have baklava here is amazing def worth the price.

I very rarely get take out for dinner. By rarely I mean never. However, I had a very busy day and as I drove home I realized there was no way I was cooking. I decided after driving past Souvlaki Fast at least three times daily, I would take the dive and finally place an order. I called them and was able to place my order in under 5 minutes! It was incredible. Fast, easy, and friendly. I ordered a chicken gyro and a lamb gyro with two regular size fries and no drink. Said farewell, see ya soon! My food was ready by the time I arrived. The actual restaurant is very cute. Clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Once again, I was done in under 5 minutes!!!!! Amazing. The real test would be the quality of the food after driving to pick it up then home. I must say they passed with flying colors !!!!!! My food was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, and seasoned to perfection. The fries were out of this WORLD!!!! The only bummer was there was no tzatziki sauce, but to be fair I didn't ask. I merely assumed it came with the gyros because I've never had one that didn't, but now I know for next time. This place was fantastic. 10/10 recommend.

Souvlaki Fast is one of many establishments on One Boynton. It's a casual spot with lots options! There is some seating inside and one or two tables outsides. First, I had the falafel pita. The pita was stuffed to the brim. I really liked the falafel inside which was soft and flavorful. It was missing some crunch, though. The hummus was perfect to combine everything together. I also tried the Greek burger. The patty was very soft and was packed with black pepper. It comes with feta cheese, veggies, and a side salad. There was a bit too much feta for my liking. But I balanced it out with more bites of the salad. Overall, I was mostly satisfied with everything and would go back to try more things. I'm curious to see how their lamb gyro tastes.

Of course... It's Wednesday...

I understand this is a chain, and I'm not sure of it's a corporate thing or a franchise situation so I have to limit my comments ti this location. There are some good things to be said about getting takeout from this particular Souvlaki Fast. It's pretty close to my office, the prices are decent, and they don't skimp when it comes to stuffing your pita. Unfortunately, the lack of care they put into their product is obvious. The cold meat was the perfect place to hide my underdone potatoes, which were also cold. Not impressed.

Walked in for a to go order. The customer service was great & the food was amazing. Came out super quick, we will be back!

Chicken Gyro - half eaten. Awful.

It was founded by owner Christos "Chris" Charoudis, the restaurant's menu is largely inspired by traditional family recipes. Chris's mother, Eleni, personally quality-controlled the dishes to ensure authenticity. This is the original restaurant, at the corner of Lantana Rd. & Jog, a second is on Congress, They have expanded & during covid outdoor dining in the parking lot was created. There is a free parking in front along with a steady stream of pick up traffic. The menu offers extensive Greek dishes with servers being very quick & efficient. Portions at Chris' Taverna are enormous. One plate is enough for more than enough for 2 of us to share. The restaurant is casual, reservations are not accepted, it's first come & first serve. Tonight six of us met here for dinner. We arrived before 6:00 and waited only a few minutes for a table. When we left there was a line outside. When we were seated we were given water & a garlic spread with warm fresh pita. We all shared babaganosh & generous delicious dips. My husband & I shared a gyro salad with lots of grilled lamb, more than enough for us both. Others enjoyed greek chicken salad, shrimp with pasta, and spanakopita. Everyone brought leftovers home, enough for a few meals. Happily we weren't rushed.

As a Greek (and former chef), I was genuinely excited after about ten people insisted this was "the spot" when I moved to Delray Beach. So naturally, I came in expecting something remotely...Greek. Quick reality check for fellow reviewers: 1.Have you ever actually been to Greece? Not the airport. Not a cruise stop. I mean eaten real Greek food. 2.Do we all agree on what goes into a Greek salad and a proper gyro, or are we just improvising at this point? Because what I saw felt more like a creative writing exercise than a recipe. 3.If your rating is based on portion size, then yes, congratulations, you got a lot of food. But let's not confuse quantity with authenticity (or quality). That's how we end up with 4.6 stars. I won't even get into presentation, because that would require there being something recognizable to present. This place would have been closed in a week in NYC! If this is your introduction to Greek food, I apologize on behalf of an entire country.

But I may have wanted to keep the secret a while longer, you can't blame me! The plaza where it's located has plenty of parking, and I love that you get to seat outside if the Florida heat isn't too crazy for you. I typically like to seat at the bar, but rest assured there are plenty of tables inside as well so you can truly choose. This location has started to get busier and busier and there's a valid reason for it! But I've yet to see it fully packed, so you probably don't need a reservation. In terms of the food, there's not an item I wouldn't recommend... but I do highly suggest you try their burger dish! as well as the octopus, and of course, the lemon potatoes! The dining room is one large, open space with tables throughout, creating a lively atmosphere. I absolutely loved it. It was filled with people enjoying incredible food, and you could tell this place was a local favorite. Of course, I had to start with one of their Greek beers, served in a traditional beer mug, which was the perfect way to kick off the meal. We also ordered the tzatziki and hummus sampler, and I'm so glad we did. The flavors were unbelievable, and they were incredibly generous with the warm pita bread. Honestly, I ate so much of the sampler that by the time it came to order my entrée, all I could manage was a piece of grilled chicken. Even then, I found myself dipping the chicken into the hummus and tzatziki because they were just that good. I left completely full, happy, and even had leftovers to take home. The staff was fantastic--everyone worked together seamlessly, helping one another and making sure every table was taken care of. It created such a welcoming atmosphere. They gave me time to browse the menu without any rush, and were ready to take my order the moment I decided. I went with the Falafel and Eggplant Pita Wrap, ordered exactly as it comes -- five crispy handmade falafels, roasted eggplant, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, purple cabbage slaw, white onions, tomatoes, pickles, and lemon tahini sauce. What I loved about the presentation was how they sliced the pita and stuffed the toppings inside the pocket, then placed the eggplant and falafel on the outside before wrapping everything up tightly. It made for a much easier, cleaner eat -- no toppings tumbling out with every bite! My first bite was amazing. The fresh flavors really shined, the falafels were perfectly crispy, and the eggplant had that deep, savory roasted flavor. Every topping complemented the others beautifully, and I walked away completely satisfied. I am so happy I found this fast and healthy option close by! I also grabbed a baklava and a mango sparkling probiotic drink -- both delicious. Beyond the food, they have soft drinks, tea, and lemonade, plus a sauce bar with vinegar and oil if you want to customize your meal even further. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu options!

Initially, we felt very rushed with the wine menu taken away before we all had a chance to look. Minutes after our appetizers came out our entrées were placed on the table. The manager was very accommodating and was able to slow our meal down so we could enjoy each other's company as well as the food. The menu looks delicious with lots of healthy salads, soups, hot, and cold mezze, fish, kebabs, grilled meats and all the Greek dishes that I love. The most difficult part was making a choice. Happily all six of us chose something different. I enjoyed my Greek white wine and started with a scallop appetizer while my husband had calamari and we shared the roasted lamb entree. The scallops were grilled to perfection, juicy on a bed of orzo with spinach and vegetables. The roasted lamb was so tender, sweet and flavorful. Friends enjoyed their salads, stuffed peppers, Bronzino and shrimp. Portions were generous they were really family style. This was my first visit and my first time trying them, and I was impressed by how many options they offer. The customization is extensive without feeling overwhelming, and everything looked fresh and well maintained. I went with the falafel bowl, built over rice and lettuce, and one standout detail was that they offered three different rice options. I chose the lentil rice, which had excellent flavor and added a nice depth to the bowl. All of the toppings, condiments, and add-ons tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The falafel itself was satisfying, and the overall meal felt balanced--filling without being heavy. It gave that ideal healthy, energized feeling rather than leaving me sluggish afterward. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was very clean, which always matters in a fast-casual setting, and the service stood out. The staff was welcoming, and the manager came by our table several times to check in and make sure everything was going well, which added a personal touch that you don't always get in this style of restaurant. Overall, a very solid first experience. Fresh food, strong service, clean environment, and plenty of options. I'd definitely return and would recommend checking it out if you're in the mood for Mediterranean done in a casual, customizable format.

And brought guests constantly . The food was always well prepared and at a reasonable price. The owner was always very friendly. BUT I will never again go back to Sofra after my experience last night. Last night I went with a couple of people that I had raved about this restaurant to. The owner, who certainly must've recognized me from the countless times I've eaten there in five years, barely grunted at me and the vibes I got from him were not very welcoming. He seemed really angry about something and was taking it out on his customers. There was only one other table that had customers and this was a Friday night. I found that really odd because other restaurants surrounding Sofra had lots of people sitting outside eating at their restaurants I ordered a falafel plate and others at our table ordered the İskender and another entrée. I practically passed out when I got the bill because I guess I didn't check the prices when I was ordering. The falafel plate, which was basically a spoonful of salad, a spoonful of rice, a few hard burned falafel, soup and a dribbling of tahini was $33. This is obscene. When this restaurant first opened they were charging for the same plate $15 and then they went to $25 after a few years which I thought was pretty high for the food we were getting but $33 is just plain greedy. I won't even do a review on the other two entrées because my party could barely eat them. I now see why there was nobody, literally nobody in this restaurant on a Friday night. And the owner, what happened to him? he used to be such a friendly guy and now he is just an angry man. The waitress never went back to check on us and refill our water after taking our order. Despite only two tables with customers in this restaurant. I read some of the reviews where owner says he hates the fucking country so why doesn't he just leave? There's plenty of really good Mediterranean restaurants that are not going to charge this kind of money for Mediterranean food. Even if the felafel was the best falafel I've ever eaten in my entire life - $33 is crazy. And it was not very good felafel - in fact all the food is mediocre. Where it once was amazing. So my suggestion to the owner is to lower his prices, improve the quality of his food and improve his attitude
