I keep coming back to this cool spot for the past few years and every time I feel like home away from home! I like to come here and get my coffee and just relaxed. The atmosphere is kids friendly, there is some space for a group meeting for rent or first come first served. There is the activity room for young toddler to enjoy their fun time on Thursday and Friday in the morning. It's not too many coffee shops that have prepared a lot of space for working people and the space for the kids at the same time! Come and check this place out for yourself-- I'm sure you will like it. The service is super friendly and

Wow, what a cool place! I was looking for something different than the big chains and found SOZO near my house. I stopped in to see if they could make something I would like since I'm not super fond of the taste of coffee itself. Scott, the owner, was very cool and very friendly. He explained some things and made a suggestion that I went with. So once the choice was made, Davey jumped into action and made my drink and I have to say it was spot on! On weekend nights they offer live music, some poetry readings, and they offer their facility for group events. The place is pretty big with lots of comfortable seating and the atmosphere is awesome with some light music playing in the background. This is a one off spot that's local and has been around for 15 years and I recommend SoZo to EVERYONE looking for a spot to enjoy their morning coffee and a very friendly place to do that. If you're looking for a cold, personality lacking drive thru, forget it. The idea here is to stop in and relax while enjoying your beverage. BTW, they are closed Sundays because they offer their shop up for a couple of church services. FIVE STARS for sure

What an artsy place! I came in, there was a live band playing, people vibing and just positivity filling up the place. If you look for coffee shops with an interact experience and place to chill and hangout with cool people, this is the place. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they really brought the mood to bring positivity to earth . I feel like the world was a little better after coming here. There was a lot on the menu, it was late so I got a blueberry chai and it was delicious. I definitely need to come try to coffee next!

Listen - their cold brew with honey and vanilla still rocks after all this time. I'm in the area to pick up food nearby and wanted to make sure I had something to drink on my way home. The vibes are still the same: chill, friendly, and low key. They weren't too busy today for a Saturday, but we are also approaching a holiday, so I'm sure tonight it will. Fantastic spot in Chandler still!

First time here! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but sometimes I get cravings. So it's nice when the barista is patient enough with me to figure out what I want. Super cute fun vibes! They have board games, a kid zone and a stage for live music. I'm sure they get busy as the day goes on. I really like it here. I got an oatmeal, off the farm apple cinnamon bar and a banana for breakfast. As for the coffee , I ordered a cold brew with oat and macadamia nut. Yummy and half sweet just how I like it. The barista was very nice and would go above and beyond. You could tell there were quite a few regulars there too! I will be returning :)

Perfect day to take a walk and grab some coffee. Scott (owner) delivers above and beyond service along with an exceptional product without fail. On the weekends they have live music and mini concerts. The first Thursday of the month is open poetry night. A chill environment with comfy chairs. Perfect for chatting with a friend. Free WiFi for those wanting to work or catch up on emails.

There's a variety of drinks and they have a large seating area with live music which is amazing! I ordered a chai and got the wrong flavors, but they offered to remake my drink which was super kind of the barista. I saw they were busy and the flavor was good anyway so I was fine with my wrong drink. I will say the chai was a powder so it wasn't my favorite, but it's very sweet if you love the sweet chai mixes out there. The coffee was good too, nothing insane but a coffee is a coffee especially if you're going for a social low key type of place.

Stopped in for afternoon coffee. The place is located in a strip mall, but pretty well done in the inside. Good amount of people hanging out as well. Service was fast and friendly. Menu encompasses all the standards plus a good selection of holiday drinks. I opted for an Americano. Not too shabby. Piping hot when it was served. Slightly acidic, but overall pretty good. N*joy...

Really cute and quaint coffee shoppe. Customer service was good and they had a variety of menu items to choose from. Seems like a great alternative to larger chain coffee places and you get to support local. :)

I had a really great experience at SoZo for a small informal coffee meeting. Baristas were super friendly and nice and lots of seating and space inside. They had a stage set up for performers. Wifi available and my drink was yummy. This is in a commercial shopping center so there was plenty of parking.

I had the special, Brit's Legit Chai which had Madagascar Vanilla with a Caramel Drizzle and it was delicious. They have great live music too from local artists. I saw Sarah Dailey perform and she played acoustic/folk. Very moving songs. Superb coffeehouse with plenty of seating, great drinks, and beautiful live music.

Ask the Community - SoZo Coffeehouse

    Do they have wifi?

    Yes they do.

Are they following CDC & public health guidelines to continue to require customers to wear masks indoors when not eating or drinking?

Not anymore as it's not a requirement anymore. They are very clean and a family environment so I'm sure they did but I wasn't here during that period so I can't speak to those past times.

When is it the most busy, is there a specific day or time that it is more packed or is it always kind of laid back?

Evenings with live music (or whenever they have such events) it gets busier. Rest of the time it's mostly laid back. Pretty awesome that way.

But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. All the flavors were well balanced and well thought out. They also had a girl singing tonight and she was amazing!!! Thanks for a nice relaxing night. Service was a 5/5 and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

As the self appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back at it with another one. This time was checking…read moreout a speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Gilbert on a Friday evening at 9 p.m. I parked for free on the street before making my way to The White Rabbit. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

Great to share between 2-4 or a hearty mega carb meal for one. The Backpacker New Zealand IPA was crisp tasting with a clean finish. Flavor was bright with tropical fruits, berries and citrus notes. The Kush Dank IPA is a traditional west coast IPA with bold citrus, pine and earthy notes with a dry finish. These two knuckleheads (said with love) always come through with the best food and drink recommendations, and their energy is half the reason we keep coming back. Everyone was obsessed with this one, we also added pistachio cold foam on top. For the Moroccan we asked for it to be half sweet and it was still pretty sweet so be aware that this one is for the sweet tooth. The pistachio latte was delicious as well. The lemon poppy seed matcha was really good as a matcha, meaning the matcha was delcious and easy to ddrink. Not a lot of lemon flavor in it tho but the quality was good so no complaints. Their pastry selection is lacking however, this might be because we came a little later in the day but there was not a lot of options.
