I wrote my first review on the fourth day Hava Java was in business so I thought I'd update and toss them an extra star. My community really seems to love them. While Starbucks etc. have removed seating and discouraged patrons from lingering, Hava welcomes everyone. I see friends chatting, people working, young and old - you name it. They also have live music and other events. It's an extremely inviting spot. I'm still not crazy about their hot chocolate- lol- but I do speak up in advance and ask them to please add more chocolate to it. A friend of mine bought me a mango smoothie here recently (something I would never order myself) and it was excellent. I think we are lucky to have a Hava Java in this part of town. One of my favorite local coffee shops. You have to try their Java Sandwich, we sub the bacon for turkey and it's perfect! They don't skimp on ingredients so it's very filling. Met a friend at Hava Java Saturday morning for coffee. It was busy but not crowded and we had a few options open for seating. There were some seasonal offerings that looked fun. I asked the woman behind the register about ingredients and she told me all flavors are syrups (nothing made in house) and when I asked her to check the sugar content on the non-dairy milks, she replied in question, "ALL of them!?" When I'm asked a question like that, I feel like a burden instead of a valued customer. The vibe for me was instantly offputting. I decided to try the seasonal cinnamon roll latte and asked for it half sweet with almond milk. It was really hot when it came out, which is fine, just not typical of other coffee shops and was still superduper sweet. I can't imagine what full sweet would've been like. It's a cute place with a large amount of seating, both indoor and outdoor. I think their staff could use some training. Otherwise, average drinks with average ingredients. read more

I stopped in to grab a cold brew and a pastry after a trail run, and it was a busy morning in the coffee shop and the service acted as if I was a nuisance being there. I asked the person behind the counter how her day was going, and her reply was " hectic", and didn't even make eye contact with me. The cold brew did not taste very good. We love the vibe and have been going to Hava once a week for months. The food is pretty good, with lots of egg options. Only thing is the coffee seems to have changed in the last couple months. It was never strong or very rich, but it was fine. Now the coffee actually tastes more like tea. I've tried switching it up... latte, cappuccino, sm, med, decaf... doesn't seem to matter, it just doesn't taste like coffee anymore. So odd. Tastes like milky tea. It doesn't even smell like coffee, which is really weird. We'll probably still come here for the vibe, but l'm going to stick to water and have my coffee at home. read more

I've been coming to Hava since it opened in the Las Sendas area, thank god we got a coffee shop besides Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts.. It's a great hangout with great barista's.. so I'm bit confused as to some of the comments below, as I have never had an issue with any of them they're always really awesome. The drinks are always great, and the food is very consistently good. The only issue, is that when you get there before 7:00 am, there's only one person there. While it's easy to get a drink, getting food is a different story. Might as well spend some extra time waiting for it .. To be honest, it's not exactly safe for only one employee to be here that early for at least an hour and a half, and for customers is very inconvenient. Might as well go to Starbucks if you're early, It wasn't always like this, that is until the new owner took over. IMO they have cheaped out... maybe they should get up early to be here to provide and maintain the excellent customer support we used to have. Just say'n!!! read more

Had a great iced Americano here. The shop is cute - lots of seating, varied music play list played at a volume that still allowed for conversation. Unfortunately, the windowsills were really dirty and dusty. The first table that I chose was at the window. But when I glanced the sill - which is just above table height- I chose to move. First time visiting here today and I am very impressed with their very tasty coffee (not at all bitter ! Bitter coffees tend to be cheap blends from multiple origins, or otherwise from places where climates/soil not ideal to grow the beans). I'm especially impressed with their very clean and spacious 2 Private bathrooms which I rarely ever see at most cafes. The entire place is spacious as well. They also offer several smoothies (I haven't yet tried but plan to take a couple to go and update here). Lastly I love it that their music is very low volume vs blasting away. This induces ppl to not yack away so loudly to be able to hear one another :) and/or maybe the folks in this town generally talk with low volume I'm here visiting and I definitely plan to come back as many times as I can. read more

This is such a cute place! We went looking for the Salt River horses and wanted a small bite and some coffee after. This had great review so thought we'd stop by. Seating inside and outside. Food menu is bigger than I expected and was actually quite delish. Came out pretty quick, and tasted fresh. They had a lot of holiday coffees and it was hard to choose! I been coming here to do work and it's always been a nice experience. They have good food, I like the seasonal drinks they offer. But I am not sure if I would 100% recommend it. Because like today the person working the register was a bit rude. They wrote my name wrong and so when my order was ready they were yelling out this name I didn't know they were referring to me. I asked to be sure and they gave me a lot of sass & when I corrected them my name was not the name they wrote. They didn't apologize they just continued to be rude. So, unfortunately I can't say that I always have a great time. I think it depends on who is working. It's too bad their service here didn't move me to leave a good review. It took a rude person to get me to send a mediocre review. I will continue to go. I do like this place. Just depends I guess on who is working that day will I like it or not. read more

I was in the area and remembered seeing this place in the past. I told myself that I would have to stop in and check them out the next time I was in the area. Upon entering, the staff was very friendly and greeted me right away. Inside, there is a very charming, open, and inviting aesthetic. There's plenty of seating with sofas and regular or high-top tables. I stood in line and looked at their menus hanging on the wall behind the register. I ordered a large iced chai tea latte. It was prepared quickly and the woman behind the counter quickly called my name. The chai tea latte tasted good. Very refreshing. If you are hungry, they do offer some breakfast and lunch food items as well. Hava Java has a lot to offer with its ambiance, service, and menu. I stopped into Habajava today (Sept 23rd around 3:30pm) to grab a decaf cappuccino, and unfortunately the experience left me with a negative impression. The barista who helped me (younger woman with glasses) seemed very unwelcoming no smile, no greeting, very little acknowledgment. I ordered politely, but it felt like she was either having a bad day or just not interested in being there. What stood out most was that she never let me know when my drink was ready. I had to figure it out myself, and when I said "thank you," she only gave a quick nod without any warmth. For a $6 cappuccino, the atmosphere felt cold and uninviting. I don't expect over the top service, but even a small smile or friendly acknowledgment makes a big difference. The food is okay, I've had two things from there and they taste like it was made with Costco ingredients. Not bad but not great either. Haven't had the coffee yet because I'm scared from the other things I've tried. The redbull I've tried two already with different flavors off the menu, and it was not very good, compared to Dutch bros I guess I would rather go to Dutch. The service as well wasn't great either which is a bummer, the blonde girl at the counter seemed like she did not want to take orders and was not making eye The service was really awkward. There was no greeting or eye contact, even though no one else was in line, and I eventually had to walk up myself. While I was ordering, the employee stopped mid-sentence to talk to a coworker, which was uncomfortable. I've tried smoothies here before, the peach one was good--but this time I ordered three berry smoothies and they were terrible. They were basically pure ice with no smoothie texture at all, especially disappointing given how expensive they are. They were for my sister and fiancé and they both agreed they were gross and didn't drink them. This place has potential because I know the smoothies can be good when made right, and the set up here is really nice and comfortable, but the inconsistency and poor service really ruined the experience for me. I love having this little local coffee shop down the street! Their coffee always tastes fresh and not bitter at all, much better compared to chains like Starbucks with their burnt tasting coffee. Service is great, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so for a drink. Price for drinks is very reasonable and they have a lot of flavor and milk-substitute options. They have some food items also for breakfast and lunch but I haven't tried them yet. They also have serve some wine and have a cute seating area in the front and patio out back. Cheapskates- over priced for under average coffee and food. $4 coffee and a $5 bagel. The coffee cup was so cheap and thin set the sides of it caved in when you grabbed it. About halfway through the drink on the weight to the liquid wasn't there to stabilize the cup I picked it up to drink and all the coffee came out the top, crushing the cup by the simple weight of holding it. Bagel was dense like the Costco ones it came "toasted" barley with the smallest size of cream when I asked for more they said it would be extra. The female staff was friendly but the guy wasn't the good moring type. I don't recommend it read more
