I got my eyebrows, chin and lips waxed. It seemed like they were trying to conserve on wax because they did two small arras on my chin. Not only did they not get all the hair there, but they also missed quite a few in areas on my chin that should have been waxed. On my eyebrows, very small areas waxed. There are still eyebrow hairs left where they waxed. I didn't see the problem until I got home. When I called, they refunded my money. read more

Can I give a guy's perspective? I've been to Spa at the Lake twice now, with my wife, and both times for pedicures. Guys, ya ain't lived a complete life until you sit in on one of these puppies. I probably wouldn't go do this by myself, but hey.. Sharon wanted to go.. so since the first time was great, why not? The second time was better. First off, they'll give you drinks and snacks, wine or water or soft drinks, whatever your pleasure. The first time, I took the wine. Next, they placed both Sharon and I in to the pedicure room where there was a couple comfortable reclining chairs and both times proceeded the service with a foot soak. If you opted for the wine, this part's gonna make your heart slow down to about 3 bpm. Next up, they're working your toes, nails and whatever else is attached. You're getting warm foot wraps, massages, paste-stuff that's like a melted minty wax. And by the time they're done with you, you've got some pretty happy feet. Extremely friendly, the feet-techs are always accommodating, professional and are core to an absolutely great experience. My wife is pleased and all smiles. I'm happy to hang out with her and the experience was awesome. They have hair salons and probably other areas that I haven't personally experienced. I've seen customers hang out on their deck overlooking a beautiful green-belt. It's pretty low-stress and makes for an awesome warm-up to head out to dinner afterwards. So, gals - this is a really nice place, relaxing music and atmosphere and all the customers seem to be pretty satisfied. Guys, definitely try it out. Vici is a terrific nail technician who is aware of the latest and best ways to care for your nails. Her clients are her first priority! Georgia has worked on my hair twice and we have a working plan for growing and coloring my hair that I am really enjoying! She has attention to detail down! Heather was my massage therapist for a 90 minute deep tissue. She doesn't believe in pain to alleviate aching areas. She's a professional who knows how to get results with a balance of relaxing and deep treatment massage. The front desk staff is caring, knowledgeable and professional. The best! Spa Week is like the best thing ever invented! Normally, I wouldn't take on a whole afternoon of spa treatments...but all the Spa Week special treatments offered at $50 each were too good to pass up. Today, I started with an Ultrasonic Anti-Aging Facial Treatment. This treatment was good - the esthetician had really good hands and massage technique. I'm also totally obsessed with ultrasonic skin spatulas at the moment - so that part was cool, too. It was a simple and to the point treatment - effective but not mind blowing. They carry SkinCeuticals - which is my current favorite skin care line. Then, I had a 40 min Swedish massage followed by a 10 min eucalyptus steam shower. The massage was nice - again the therapist had a great touch. However, I think I'm a bit more accustomed to deep tissue than Swedish massage (and the very very strong hands of my regular therapist)...but hey you can't really complain about being massaged with oil. Plus, I'm sure they offer deep tissue on their regular menu of services. After the massage was complete - HOLY EUCALYPTUS STEAM SHOWER, BATAMAN!!! Really, post massage this steamy minty shower just melted all my troubles away. I finished my spa day with the Executive Express Manicure - Pedicure. Jennifer did my nails and she was meticulous, delightfully chatty, and generally awesome. She did a fan-flippin'-tastic job on my fingers and toes. I can tell she's a real perfectionist - and that's what you want when you're getting polished! The view from the pedicure is lush golf course and beautiful Lakeway horizon...gotta love that. This was definitely a wonderful experience at a great price with the specials...huge props for participating in Spa Week...regular prices seem a bit on the pricey side - so I'm not sure I'd choose indulge here otherwise. read more

Your face hurt??? That was a running joke in my family growing up cause there's no good answer to it. You were sick or fell down, someone (dad, sis) would sympathetically ask that question, and if you said no, they'd say, Well it hurts me! hahahahah And if you said, yes, they'd say, Huh, hurts me too!!! hahahahahah Unfortunately my face did hurt all weekend (double sux that I taught hubby that joke a long time ago. shit never gets old). I thought it was a reaction to the makeup (airbrushing) from the fashion show. Then I took a closer look at the cleanser I had just bought from this Spa, on the recommendation of the esthetician that did my facial, and read in the ingredients "lactic acid". We literally had spent an hour discussing my face and sensitive skin (and rosacea) and when she picked this out for me, I asked again if it was mild enough to use every day. She assured me it was. Two day, three uses later, I had just taken off the whole top layer of my skin. It was like a chemical burn that did not react well to sweat or heat, which is unfortunately what it was exposed to all weekend. So I'm knocking off a few stars for that experience. I'm puttin one back on cause I called the spa on Sunday and they had me come in right away. Their other esthetician looked me over, made me up a vial of soothing solution and swapped out the "resurfacing" cleanser for a gentle everyday one. I recently went here for their Back to School special. I got a massage with a steam shower post. Then a facial. I love their steam shower. I had been here before and remember how much I loved it last time. Why don't I come here more often? The shower is worth the drive. I enjoyed my facial as well. I wish she hadn't talked as much but it was a good conversation and she gave me tips for my face. The locker room is coed. They have changing rooms but the actual lockers are coed. In a strip mall on 620 in Lakeway. Front desk staff was friendly. Clean and a decent price for what you receive. I will be back until I get a steam shower at home. I've been going to this spa for quite some time. Back in 2002, my then boyfriend loved treating me like a 1950's housewife and would treat me to things like spa days and wanted my nails done. I've tried many of their services, so I figured I'd discuss them each individually. Manicure/Pedicure: I've had all the regular manicure and pedicure options available. They are always excellent experiences, no matter who is assisting me, although I prefer Maria. She is a perfectionist, like me, and is an wonderful conversationalist. I wish the pedicure chairs were massage chairs, but really, that's just me being spoiled by US Spa. They have a wonderfully comprehensive collection of O.P.I. nail polished and, to date, have given me the longest lasting pedicure -- EVER. It lasted over 2 months without any damage. Seriously. Sick, right? Hair: I have had a hair cut and color at SatL. I have extremely long hair and was very pleased that Ashley, the stylist, didn't shy away or try to get me to cut off all of my hair. I wanted bright apple red highlights, so they had to special order some color for me, but it was worth the wait. Not as great of a job as Anna Alvarez (find her on facebook or at the Domain), but I was happy with it. They are very good at the big frosted hair look, but I'm just not old enough to really, well, like that. Facial: Anna is a goddess. A Polish goddess. If you go to get a facial, ask for Anna. She is amazingly talented and interesting, as well. She meets you at the front and brings you to the back to change. She gives you water once you're done and then brings you to her "office". Once there, she makes sure you're comfortable and then puts these wonderfully warm booties on your feet. Every facial starts with a refreshing cream for your lips that is typically inspired by whatever seasonal specials they have. When I got my pre-wedding facial right around Valentine's Day, the cream was partially made of chocolate! The European facial is great for first timers or just a good refresher. It's inexpensive and well worth the money and time. Sadly, Anna will make the time fly by with her great conversation. The Four Layer facial is wonderful for a special occasion. Perhaps you're getting photographed? Married? Important business trip? Any occasion when you need to look your best -- this facial is the one for you. It makes you look at least 5 years younger and it lasts much longer than the European facial. It is also a tad more uncomfortable, due to the masks -- but worth it! The only downside is that Anna can't clone herself. Want a tip -- book Anna's last appointment if you want to be able to chat more. And be prepared for a great hug goodbye. Massage: Heather is the girl I always ask for. She is soft spoken, but very skilled at the art of massage. I have a bad back from a car accident, but she always skillfully works out all the knots and lactic acid build up I suffer from. She is an excellent conversationalist, as well, if that is what you want. If not, she can be quiet and assist you in your relaxation by keeping her breathing extremely even. Not sure if she does this on purpose, but it always calms me. She's great at asking how you're feeling and where you need her to focus her attention. She takes care of those areas without making you feel like to just came in for a foot or neck massage. After your massage, she prepares a steam shower for you to further your experience (and help wash off the oils!) On my first massage with her, I let her know I was allergic to lavender and have never had a problem since -- with her (or Anna). Eyelash Extension First off, Ashley is adorable. And she can chat you up with the skill of the best Ad Man in the business. Fortunately, this is a service in which chatting REALLY helps. Having eyelashes attached is...tedious. Each little lash getting glued to one of your own. Over one hundred lashes in all and it takes at least 2 hours. Ashley made time FLY by and did an amazing job. I received my eyelashes on 1/31 and as of today, 2/28, I still have my lashes. Typically, it is said that they only last 2 weeks. Even better, I was told not to use waterproof mascara on them, but my makeup artist was worried about me crying at my wedding, so we used it anyway for my 2/12 wedding. 16 days later (and a cruise including lots of swimming and activity) and they are still gorgeous. I think Ashley has turned me into a person who always wants long, luscious lashes Food and Drinks: They always have cucumber water available, which is a staple and delicious. The teas are lackluster, though. The snacks are typically H-E-B quality pastries. Never very noteworthy. Front Desk: The front desk is always very friendly -- once they know you. Before they get to know you, though, they can seem somewhat standoffish, or clique-y. They are somewhat disorganized. Coupons can confuse them. All in all, a great day spa. I'm 43 with the displeasure of having zits AND wrinkles, so I was looking for a great facial. A friend recommended Anna at Spa At The Lake, so I booked and headed over. Anna is THE best. She took charge from the moment I met her, leading me back to the locker room, telling me exactly what to do and where to go, and getting me situated for my facial. If you've never had a facial or been to a spa (I was nervous the first time I ever went, years ago), Anna will help you out. She put warm booties on my feet, asked me a few questions, and got to work. I really wanted recommendations for how to care for my skin and what products to use, and she gave me succinct, specific advice -- and I didn't feel like she was just hawking the products they sell there. I never felt pressured to buy anything; I felt like I was getting sage advice from an expert. Three days later, my skin still feels amazing -- and I REALLY needed a facial. The new products feel great on my skin; it feels like I've been using all the wrong stuff for far too long. The facial was really reasonably priced, too, and I felt like I got a lot of advice and service for the money. I used to go to one of those monthly membership places, which I really liked at the time, but I realize now that I could have paid the same amount for a much better service. My favorite spa in Austin! I have been to numerous spas, but this one really stands out to me for the experience and the service. I've gotten facials, massages, manicures, and pedicures here, and they are all top of the line. I'd recommend Anna for facials. She's an amazing and incredibly sweet woman with a fun sense of humor. I got a free eyebrow wax for my Christmas present! Definitely personable and made me feel great. Susan is a must for massages. I get the 1 hour swedish massage, and she's great about taking in to account the areas I want to work on and asking for feedback throughout. The clear differentiator between Spa at the Lake and others is the eucalyptus steam shower option at the end of the massage. Imagine the feeling of a Halls throat drop surrounding you, clearing up any sinuses or allergies. Simply amazing. The one downfall is it's all the way out in Lakeway, and I live downtown, but I've made the drive several times. I had bridal portraits done in Austin on Friday and the girl who did my hair/makeup was here. I am not from Austin and had my nails shellaced in my hometown before I got to Austin. I hated them so I made an appt with Jenny to fix it. She was fast, efficient, and they turned out great! I was so happy with them. The polish change was a $10 charge which is usually the going rate anywhere. Laura did my hair and makeup and she did an amazing job. My makeup was spot on. I had changed my mind about what hairstyle to do so we were just "winging it". She didn't even have to do anything special to it. I fell in love with it with her just blow drying it so we went with that. The complete look looked like me, just a more made up me, which is exactly what I was going for. I bought some powder,hydration mist, lip gloss and a travel size can of hairspray. The most expensive thing was the powder but it's mineral makeup so I expect that. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly during the booking process and answered all my questions. I got a confirmation call and voicemail the day before. The prices here are very reasonable and do not seem to be any higher than any of the services here in Beaumont. I would definitely recommend this place and I would DEFINITELY recommend Jenny for nails and Laura for hair. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

I came into Lakeway for memorial day weekend from Houston, and I was in need of a shellac manicure. I gave this place a try due to its good reviews and I will definitely be coming back. The staff was extremely friendly and my appointment began right on time. I am particularly picky with how I like my manicures done, but my technician did an amazing job. The quality of the nail polish has lasted me 2 weeks thus far without a single chip despite spending the whole weekend in the lake. The spa uses the actual CND shellac brand rather than the generic cheap versions that are difficult to remove and destroy your nails. The manicure stations look out onto the golf course which was very relaxing, and the entire experience was worth every penny. I highly recommend this place!! read more

Went while staying at the lake way resort because they accept spa Finder gift cards. Scheduled a prenatal massage after reading all the good reviews on yelp. The spa is located in a strip center, but has nice views of a golf course and water. Arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork and my masseuse Jennifer started right on time. The massage itself was great. Jennifer was just the right amount of friendly conversation and quiet relaxation and her pressure was perfect. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because after the massage, there was no clarification on options. I had read about and was looking forward to the steam shower, but Jennifer guided me out of the room without offering it. I then walked to the back to get water and sat for a bit looking at the views. There was no offer to grab a cup of tea and relax so I dressed and walked up to the front to check out. I asked about the steam shower, but was told that since I didn't request it, it wasn't available because someone else was in the room now. The receptionist did say, 'oh, you arrived early and everything, I'm not sure why you didn't get to use the shower. I'm sorry, maybe next time!' I recently went in for a facial. I was planning on going in for just the simple european facial, but got talked into microdermabrasion - which I had never had done before. The therapist told me it would be $120, however the price ended up being $130 when I went to pay. While the experience itself was good, after I left I felt some pain on my face. Turns out that my face got all scratched up from the process. I have scratches across my jawline, on my temple and even on my cheeks. Not sure I'll be back to this establishment and am quite certain I will never get microdermABRASION again. read more

I moved to Lakeway in 2005 and lived there for six years and discovered Spa at the Lake early on. I met the owner, Melissa, and she was so incredibly nice and obviously understood how to create a wonderful experience in every area. Denise became my Go To hairstylist. Her haircuts are the best I have ever had and she is genius with color. Esthetician Anna gives amazing facials, you walk out with your skin fresh and glowing. Then I had a massage and a body scrub followed by a Vichy shower, oh my goodness! Top everything off with a lovely mani-pedi. Sounds like a pretty snooty place, but it's absolutely not at all. This place has the loveliest, most casual vibe. I moved away in 2011, but I managed to get back to Austin pretty often and I always made sure to at least get in to see Denise for cut and color and if I got in with Heather for one the best massages ever, or Anna for a facial I was thrilled. We'll visits ended during the pandemic, but all vaccinated meant all good to go to Austin. A year and half and everything is as good as ever and a really cool remodeling has happened. If you live anywhere near Spa at the Lake do yourself an enormous favor, go to Spa at the Lake for any of their services, they are the best at everything! I'd give ten stars if I could. read more
