I bought the Yelp deal for $15 for $30 of services and was so happy I did! LaTonya is super friendly, fast and great at what she does. I might finally go back to waxing my eyebrows instead of threading them after my visit with her. There was very little pain and my skin in SENSITIVE, so though my skin was red, it seemed to recover more quickly than usual. With the amazing deals she posts on her own website, I'm not sure if I'll ever go anywhere else. She books up fairly quickly, but you can book an appointment online a week or two out without a problem. The space she rents is super close to the Clybourn red line stop so it's easy for me to hop off on my way home from work, and the waiting room is very calming and peaceful. Then, she rushed through my Brazilian leaving patches everywhere, come on... I used a YouSwoop for a Brazilian Wax here by LaTonya. A+ for décor - it was peaceful and calming. It's always a positive to get a nice feeling when walking into a place that's about to rip hot wax off your private parts! =) Honestly though, I must have been missing this from my recent experiences at other places because I noticed it immediately and complimented LaTonya as soon as I walked in. A+ for quality, speed and painlessness (as is feasible for a Brazilian). The whole process took maybe 10-15 minutes. My appointment was a 1pm, I arrived 5 minutes early, was greeted warmly, freshened up in the restroom and was back out the door by 1:20pm. No Brazilian is truly painless but it wasn't bad and since she knew what she was doing it didn't last too long at all. I place a high value on that for sure. I'd come here again... possibly even without a deal since the regular price is $45. Not bad. Of course I'd still like a few bucks off but the service was good enough that I would CONSIDER it. I bought a YouSwoop for a Brazilian Wax at La Tonya, and I was so nervous going in, because I had never had a waxing down there and had heard such awful stories from friends about their Brazilian experience. La Tonya is unbelievable! She made me feel so comfortable from the instant I walked in the spa. The lights were dimmed and the music was calming, which made me feel very comfortable waiting for my Brazilian. She's very educated, and knows exactly what she's doing. She was talking to me the entire time, and kept making sure I was as comfortable as possible. She knows which is the most painful parts to wax, and made sure to do them as swiftly as possible. She even cheered me on while I was feeling the most pain!...I bet my friends weren't cheered on when they got waxed! Literally, the pain lasts 30 seconds after she rips the strip off you...it's not long lasting pain at all, and she knows how to make it less painful. The whole process took 15 minutes, and I didn't feel any pain when I left the spa. I frequent this spa for upper lip and brazilian wax and I must say, Tonya does an excellent job! I am very picky about who I let do my wax because I have very sensitive skin. I had a brazillian wax the first visit. Needless to say, it was awful. I've had this service done many times before and I've never been left with bruising, welts, and broken blood vessels under the skin. During the process was more painful too but I figured it was the different wax. I didn't say anything but perhaps I should have stopped her. She didn't seem rushed so I'm not sure why this happened. I decided to give her another try (not in the same area) but only because I had to use the remainder of my deal. I had her wax my arms. Everything went fine and I had no issues.
