Let me start by saying that I'm not comfortable with things like manicures and pedicures; they jar my sense of fairness and make me feel awkward. That said, this was a pretty nice experience. I went to this nail salon with a gift certificate for a spa pedicure and spa manicure. The pedicure was so expertly done that I could not feel her painting my toes, and it was bizarre. Perhaps I was distracted by the massage chair remote, however. The manicure was done equally well, and I was pleased. Though I felt out of place, the technician was very nice to me, and her hands were capable and gentle. (Sheesh, this almost sounds obscene!) I also love the fact that they open autoclaved instruments in front of you. I'm paranoid about that kind of thing. Would I go again, if I liked manicures? Yes. read more

I honestly can't think of any negatives about this place! When I called the day of, they had no trouble squeezing me in. I was greeted with a smile and immediately offered a beverage. There was an ample variety of magazines available, a critical part of the pedi experience, IMHO. I was brought to the requisite massage chair, which had great pressure and gave the best chair massage I've gotten. Before my pedi began I was already a very happy camper. I got the spa pedicure, which included an exfoliating rub, blissful massage, and paraffin treatment. At most salons, you have to pick your color from a huge wall of polish bottles before you go sit down. Here, they had samples of the nail polish (almost like paint samples) that I could look through as they started my pedi. Such a great idea! I also felt they had a much wider selection including a full range of colors, different textures, and a bunch of my personal favorite, sparkles. Mia did my pedicure. She introduced herself and was very friendly, chatting a bit throughout. When I was paying they asked if it was my first time to then salon. I said yes, so they gave me a discount! I definitely didn't hate that. I will happily return to Spa Envy the next time I am craving an indulgent pedi experience. read more

I like it here. I like Jennifer and enjoy seeing what color her hair will be each visit! I love the fact they autoclave the instruments. She also does a bang up job hiring her nail techs and watches them like hawks to make sure that they are following her protocol. I have had amazing pedis there that have lasted a while. She does a great job with waxes as well. I'm not crazy about manicures in chairs, so I go somewhere else for that and I'm bummed she got rid of the UW staff discount. My first review of this place was great, but then I went here for the second time yesterday. I booked a spa pedicure because my tootsies were dry and gross after my vacation. They had booked me for a regular pedicure, and when I said I'd booked a spa pedicure, they told me sorry, but there wasn't time. I was a little annoyed, but whatever. Then there was the receptionist....hmm, what do I say about her? She apathetically greeted me and everyone else and just had a general unpleasantness about her. She's one of those women who acts too good to be wherever she's at. Pull the stick out of your ass, do your job and be nice about it, damnit. When I went to pay, there was a woman in front of me paying for her pedicure, (which appeared to be the same thing I got) and she was charged $5 less. I sat right next to her and was pretty sure we had the same service, so...yeah. I'm not sure if I'll go back again, they do a good job, but the overall atmosphere/attitude of the place needs some work. read more

I came here for a "spa day" with all my co-workers a little while back and had a great time! I'd never gotten my nails done before and had never gotten a facial, so the experience was brand new! Their space is clean with lots of natural light and the staff is so friendly and very good at what they do! My manicure and pedicure were expertly done and didn't chip or crack for over a week - very impressive. I will definitely be coming back here again. read more

I went in for a facial, manicure, and eyebrow waxing last week before a big interview. The service was amazing. Everyone who worked there was so friendly. The front desk person and I talked for a long time, I had green tea, and my face felt like it could win me a job with it's pristine glow. Btw, my nails still look great, my eyebrows look the best they ever have, and I want to go back when I hear about the job to get another awesome facial and a pedicure next time. That was probably one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. Massage on face. Awesome. I was not dressed up or anything, but I was treated like a princess. The service was fast but did not feel rushed, the spa is very beautifully decorated, and best of all, everyone I talked to (which was pretty much everyone who worked there because they all said hello to me) was extremely nice. I definitely got my money's worth and will be going back for more treatments. I'm glad I've found my Seattle spa! read more

I took a chance on this little spot and did not regret it. I'm usually pretty loyal to my nail salon. I hate not knowing how clean or well trained the staff is. I popped in on a Thursday night, and it pretty much consisted of me and another client. Instead of the usual table to sit at, they placed in my massage chair which actually was pretty great. The manicurist was warm and friendly throughout the process, she even did a damn good job of the massage! My nails were already on the frail side, and thankfully there wasn't any major buffing done. Was offered a Diet Coke or water, asked for water, then offered sparkling or flat, asked for sparkling and they brought me a can of mango La Croix. I was very happy with the service and pedicure. A friend brought me here a few months ago and now I am a complete loyalist. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They take their time and the leg and arm massage are the best I've ever had at a nail place - actually feels like a massage. Update: I went back today because my nails were a mess... hitch is I broke my wrist. The were so sweet and gentle and gave me another superb service. I've just been here once so far, but I plan on going back for sure. The staff are really friendly, and the manager/owner was flexible with us when we had to change our appointment several times. Their prices are excellent but not so cheap that you question their practices. The place is clean and well maintained (no torn chairs, everything in working order, etc.). Their color selection seems pretty good, though I'm no expert. And lots of free parking (yay!). The only con was that my pedicure got a chip pretty quickly, though the rest of it has stayed intact for a few weeks now. All in all, a great option for a little indulgence. read more

Overall excellent experience! I walked in one afternoon for a mani/pedi, and only had to wait 5 minutes before getting a chair. It was clear that the other customers there were regulars, and the staff did a great job of making me feel very welcome. I was offered a tea right away. I got a shellac manicure which lasted me over 2 weeks. Wonderful quality! My pedicure was incredibly tidy as well. It is definitely more expensive than other places, I think I paid $75ish total, but the atmosphere you get is worth it. read more

Things have changed at Spa Envy. I was last there about 6 weeks ago and everything was great, but when I went in this weekend the owner, Robert, was gone, for an undetermined amount of time. What's happening there? There are several new employees I don't recognize, and I didn't get the technician I had asked for. Anyone know what the deal is or when Robert's coming back? I have very mixed feelings about this place. I have visited Spa Envy on and off for about 3 years including their current location and old location. I've only received pedicures and some brow waxes. They have great hours - which is a big draw for me - and they had (past tense) decent prices. They stay open later than a lot of salons and also have Sunday hours. The prices have gone up since I first visited - I liked going there because it more affordable yet very clean and neat. But with the pricing going up, it's harder to justify especially since the service is so spotty. For over $30 a pedicure, there are many other salons I'd rather go to and just pay a few bucks more. Overall, the pedicure/waxing services are decent but really spotty. I've had great longlasting pedicures and other pedicures where polish was very uneven and the sides of my nails were completely missed. There is one woman who I cannot stand who forces my feet into a certain position while she does the polish which is completely unnatural and uncomfortable for me. While I want her to get the job done, she has to find another way vs. forcing my ankles and feet to be at a weird angle. She's the only person I've experienced this with at any salon - so there must be another way, but somehow with this particular pedicurist my comfort comes in 2nd place. I wish I remembered her name, so that people can avoid her. The other thing that bothers me is sometimes I make a reservation and when I get there, my reservation wasn't written down. Someone's son sometimes answers the phone and is really curt and unfriendly. And later I find out he doesn't relay the message about my appointment. Just another annoyance but to be fair, they've never sent me back home. The same son also takes payment and has the same curt, unfriendly, very unthankful attitude. Not exactly a spa like experience. I did have one bad customer service experience which forces me to consider 2 stars vs. 3 stars. One time I had the last appointment on a Sunday, but it was a couple hours before their closing time. I had my husband drop me off and I told him to pick me up in an hour since they were still *supposed* to be open. After my service, the woman who did my nails (of course the same woman who forces me into uncomfortable positions) decided that she didn't want to stick around the salon and wanted to close up for the evening (she was the only one there). So rather than letting my nails dry inside, she forced me to wait outside...in January. So I ended up waiting outside with my toes freezing. I can't decide if closing up early completely unreasonable, but I think at the very least I should have been able to dry my nails and put on some real shoes before being left in the cold. I can't say I'll go back, unless I'm in a pinch. Not totally horrific, but just not great enough for my money in these economic times. read more

This is now my favorite place to get a pedicure. It's so relaxing and clean. The women here are so professional and kind. I am a customer forever! I went to a variety of places and the first time was great and then subsequent visits never were as good as the initial visit. But not here. They are totally consistent and the polish lasts until the next visit. This place is fantastic. Love it! read more

Great place to come for a little TLC, staff very nice and pampering. Very good job with both manicures and pedicures, have not had other services. Open 7 days a week, have never had to make an appointment but I would recommend just in case. They always find a way to squeeze you in without short changing anyone. i was in a rush to get a mani pedi done in 45 minutes and stumbling upon Spa Envy, walked in on the hopes that i would be able to get an appointment. Even though they were booked, the manager/owner? said he would do my nails himself and booked me for an express mani and pedi to ensure i had enough time to get to my next appointment. He did an amazing job; was extremely gentle and meticulous, going over my nails again if he saw any issues. He seemed to truly care that i would walk out with perfect nails. He even consulted with me on my color choices and when my original idea didn't work out, he thought of an even better one. I've been to expensive nail salons and the cheapest, and this was by far the best. I will continue to come in the future. Overall, everyone was friendly, the salon was clean and relaxing. I read the positive & negative reviews on this place and they are all quite valid. Sterilized instruments & great massage chairs +, less than friendly staff, + or -, depending on how you look at it. I r'cvd a very decent pedicure and manicure for a decent price. The only thing that was weird was the paraffin wasn't a dip: she gathered up paraffin in the plastic bag then put the bag on my feet. Sanitary thing? I don't know, I just spent 30 minutes getting my feet washed & cleansed. They are a step or two up from the average nail bar, but priced well. I'd choose this place over InSpa or average nail bar any day. Unless I am going all out for a day of pampering, I won't go to Gene Juarez or Habitude for a pedicure again. read more

OK, I'm kind of a nail salon snob... for a long time I would only go to Frenchy's in Madison Park, and the last couple of years I've been going to Julep. I've always appreciated the little extras that these kinds of places offer - a complementary hot beverage, a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, nail technicians who don't have loud conversations with each other in another language while doing your service. There is a price for this, however, and when I have to pay $150+ for a mani/pedi with the works, it means that I get to have fewer mani/pedis. A few months a go, a friend was telling me about Spa Envy, and it sounded pretty good...I was skeptical, though. Inexpensive, but not cheesy? I tried it out last weekend and I'm a convert. Complementary hot beverage, tasteful and relaxing atmosphere, soothing music and lighting, and attentive technicians. They use OPI polish, and they have a huge selection of colors. The technician I had was friendly and meticulous. I got the deluxe manicure and pedicure (both with paraffin treatment) for $88. I never felt rushed, and my nails still look great a week later. Now it's a chop-shop - cattle herd - get em in and out. It's not as clean either and service is definitely not what it used to be. This may have been the best mani pedi experience I've ever had. I went in on a weekday morning so had the place to myself. Vanessa did my mani and Mia did my pedi. They were both great; cordial, professional, and skillful. The end product came out beautifully and the experience was so relaxing. They timed their work to provide the arm and leg massages at the same time and gave at least a full 5-7 minute massage. Every single employee was so attentive and kind. I also got a wax and was very satisfied with that service as well. The only drawback was the price; definitely more expensive than mani/pedis elsewhere and not something I can justify too often, but it was a very nice treat! read more

This place used to be so much better. I'm really disappointed with my last few pedicures. Right now the only positive comment I have is they autoclave their tools. The staff is really hit and miss. The owner Jen doesn't seem to care any more, and is hardly ever there. She has her son answering the phone, and he is not willingly there as is evidenced by his demeanor. The hours are not as long and it is increasingly hard to get an appointment on short notice. The prices have been raised, which I can kind of understand as they moved to a more expensive shop but man oh man, keep the service up to the standard it used to be. I want to keep my loyalty to this shop but am really having a hard time doing so. read more

I showed up as the first appointment for the day, for a manicure and pedicure. There were three technicians there (and no other patrons), but my services did not start for another 10 minutes. The technician that did my nails was attentive and thorough, but in between my mani and pedi, made me wait for 15 minutes while she cleaned the pedicure tub and had a long conversation with the other technician (who was doing nothing, but sitting in one of the chairs next to mine). I had thought that maybe this was a place where they would not simultaneously do hands and feet, and so I had tried to be patient during my pedicure. However, the woman who came in after me, with only a reservation for pedicure, asked for a manicure and they hopped to it and gave her simultaneous service. I was there for just over 2 hours for services that should have taken 1 hour 15 minutes separately and only 45 minutes consecutively and I would have been ok with that if my result had been good. However, my nails chipped that night in the shower, and I've never had that happen with a 30 dollar manicure before. Bad customer service for a high price and mediocre result. However, the place itself was SUPER clean and they use all OPI polishes. I won't be going back read more

I find this spa very convenient and accommodating to schedule needs. Crystal is a great esthetician, especially for waxing. My experience with pedicures varies with who I have been assigned. I think it works best to have the same person each time. Recently, i have not been offered tea or even water when I am there, and I miss that.
