My daughter and cousin wanted to surprise me for my birthday. On the way to the spa, our car caught on fire. We called the spa on the way there, and they told us that we will be responsible for paying a no show fee of over $500. (A price double the amount of our selected treatments). The people manning the front desk were unapologetic about our emergency situation. Not only did we have to deal with the FDNY, a traffic situation which our car presented, angry commuters, and a hefty tow price, we were charged for a service that was not provided due to an emergency situation. The manager on duty, was much more professional than the initial associate who responded. While, we understand we were no shows, we were dealing with an unforseen situation. I am so disappointed at Oasis-we used to take our Mother there for many years. The lack of human understanding towards people who are literally dealing with an emergency is so disappointing after having been customers of Oasis for so many years. read more

I'm a long time client at Oasis and I was so excited for my Swedish massage and salt scrub. The scrub was just ok...the water wasn't hot enough and she just didn't have the same talent as prior providers. It wasn't horrible. My masseuse started my massage and I wasn't quite sure what she was doing. She was moving so quickly up and down my back....I couldn't relax...She started with my back...and I thought.. this isn't great...but it got somewhat better when I flipped over...I just kept thinking "this person isn't very good"...and then it turned from not great to what the hell...the ending foot massage pulled every ounce of relaxation out of my body and then I was just annoyed...her nails were digging into my feet...I finally had to say something...I wanted to just snatch my foot away and storm out...but I held it together. Oasis was my tried and true and it has tumbled downhill fast! Needless to say...that was my last visit...prior to this visit...I thought Oasis kept their prices by keeping things the same...please make some changes and get some more talented staff or train the ones you have...there's too much competition to have to suffer through a massage! I visited Oasis back in February and had a wonderful experience! It is a very easy to find spa, right off the 6 train. I made my way in and was kindly greeted by Nicole and was taken to the locker room area, which was very nice. I am a fan of the new robes, and the men's facility is very clean. I booked a body scrub with Alena and it is worth doing again! The citrus brown sugar smell is just amazing, and I recommend it to others! Will definitely be back and appreciate the good service. From the sauna, showers, and relaxation room with snacks and beverages, they've got you covered. ‍ If you're getting a facial, Alexis is the one! What an awesome facial with Asako. I told her my top prioriy was cleansing. My face is now super clean as well as moisturized in the dry areas. She also did some shiatsu pressure points which felt great. Oasis asks you to arrive 15 minutes before. I am writing to provide feedback about my most recent visit to the Oasis Day Spa. My husband and I visited from out of town to celebrate his birthday. I wanted to share that we thought your spa was lovely and truly enjoyed our time in the space. My husband enjoyed a scrub, massage, and facial, and raved about the service he received from his three specialists! I also had a scrub, massage, and facial. I wanted to share that my scrub and facial were amazing but I feel the need to share more contructive feedback about my massage. My masseuse was not nearly as warm or welcoming as the other two specialists that I worked with and my massage was definitely not up to my expectations. I believe that the person massaging me was on her phone while providing the massage since most of the time, she was only massaging with one hand. I also kept hearing her picking up and putting down something throughout most of the experience as well as tapping sounds which I'm guessing might have been scrolling or texting. If I was local to NY, I would certainly book again with Mita, Alexis, Marzena, or Efia but would never be willing to accept a massage from Rahqui again. I've honestly had better massages at the mall. I didn't turn around during the massage to confirm the cell phone usage since I was afraid to make it awkward. One way or the other, every massage I've ever received (good or not as good) had been completed with two hands and the full attention of the therapist. A wonderful afternoon!!! I booked a pumpkin scrub and a massage. Scrub was amazing. The smells of the products were wonderful. And Efia was an amazing provider. The Vhici shower was perfect. My skin felt amazing after. My massage with rosemary was top-notch. She listened to all of my concerns, the pressure was perfect!! Amazing! He was a total pro, provided education to why my back was reacting the way it was, asked if the pressure being applied was ok throughout the session and most importantly he helped me regain my ROM and relieved the impingement. Do NOT get microdermabrasion here. I had this done just once, but I now have a permanent welt on my forehead. They don't take any responsibility. The woman at the front desk told me, "that's not normal, but give it time". The esthetician tried to tell me that she was gentle, so it couldn't have been her fault. (I didn't have this welt on my face upon arrival but did when I got home). The manager told me, "we are not a medical spa, so we don't have to warn you against possible side effects". The final straw was when the owner told me, "I'm sorry you didn't get the outcome you wanted". My dermatologist was horrified that this was allowed to happen. read more

"I was greeted by receptionists Kirstie and Anna and they were both very pleasant and accommodating and made me feel welcomed & at home. The spa was very clean from the visual to the smell of the location which put me at even greater ease. Kirstie escorted me to the dressing area to prepare for my 90 minutes Swedish massage and gave me clear instructions on what to do and expect, then I went into a receiving room where they had soft lighting, relaxing music and refreshments while I waited for my therapist. A few minutes later. Massage therapist Laurette came to escorted me to her room. The room was clean and organized. I immediately relaxed and prepared to enjoy my massage. Laurette made me so relaxed that i wanted to have a massage every day! The warm friendly atmosphere and professional service had me telling all my friends about my day at the spa and I invited them to join me for this luxurious experience. When I checked out they told me they couldn't charge his card, that they needed it in-person. THEN the total was $433...!!?!!! I had a collagen facial and Swedish massage and to my surprise it was "Two For Tuesday" so when I went to check out my second service was 50% off! Such a great deal especially in NYC!! This spa is lovely!! So clean and inviting and beautifully decorated! Coming in from the busy holiday streets of NYC to this serene oasis was just heavenly! The staff were awesome! From reception to my services, everyone was professional and helpful! The locker room was so clean and the waiting area had flavored waters, tea, and even nuts and dried fruit....so accommodating! I cannot believe I'm giving oasis spa 1 star I went in today and have to say i left very disappointed . I have been a client for years . I was disappointed with my massage from my masseuse. Not only did I leave there feeling my body just as when I came in but the person massaging me broke my bracelet that i was wearing . I had asked over the phone if this person was recommended with good reviews and the response was yes . I will not mention the person name who massaged me but I they did not seem to even feel bad that I was not happy . DO NOT GET A MASSAGE AT OASIS DAY SPA. If I could give no stars I would. The masseuse gave me a massage that gave me pain in my joints for the next two weeks. I am in my 70s, and I asked her to be careful with particular areas of my body. She didn't listen and did what she wanted to do. I had a brow lift a few years ago from a very well-known plastic surgeon in Manhattan. No anesthesia for me, just Valium. When I had my first child, I was in labor for 10 hours. As soon as I saw my sister the next day, I said to her, "That was fun!" I'm trying to tell the readers of this review that I have a high tolerance for pain. A massage is supposed to be a relaxing, stress-relieving experience. Of course I've had massages before, but this one was a nightmare. It was really weird, as well. The masseuse got oil all over my hair, pulled my arms way out and up over my head, and bent my leg like she was trying to tie me in a knot. Bruce Schoenberg is the owner. His girls at the front desk act like they are his groupies. The entire situation was sickening. For this, I paid $$$$. If it happened to me, it could happen to you. Be careful. Stay away. read more
